    I love the turquoise that you’re doing I always have a problem with my paint drying too fast when I’m trying to diet I live in Phoenix Arizona where it’s been 114 and I am hesitant on adding any medium to my page because I can’t seem to keep my paint from drying so fast I love your templates I do have a problem trying to do stencil templates with chalk pencils not being able to take the chalk off, noticed what type of Q-tip you were using so that’s my next mission always having problems getting the chalk off my artwork. Are used to design printed circuit boards so I really love your templates and how you can flip them around great idea!

    • @TheDottingCenter
      @TheDottingCenter  Před 3 lety

      Hi Jan! There are special additives you can buy that increase the drying time of some acrylic paints. You may want to check that out. Also for the chalk pencil, check out the ones I have in my shop at www.thedottingcenter.com they wipe off easily because they're all chalk without binders. There's nothing worse than scrubbing dry paint to remove chalk lines.

    • @TheDottingCenter
      @TheDottingCenter  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes! I can help. If your dots are drying with cracks, it’s your paint. Either it’s a low quality or expired paint, it wasn’t stirred up properly before using, or you’ve thinned it with too much water. Hopefully this helps : )

    I have noticed that the consistency of the the paint is very important.. yours always perfect! I have your puffy dot bottles etc. and those are great! But I want to use the other tools… I bought your colored tools 14 sizes I love them. I guess I will have to get a pouring medium? I bought Arteza and they were not medium consistentsy. But they are Premiere… live and learn… I think I have to have that pouring medium? And you like Liquitex for the beefing up paint and not to loose. I am so unhappy with my painting. My husband keeps say just keep practicing after I got your tool it was much better but I have quite awhile before I I do on a nice canvas board. Any tip a pot getting pain the right body for the Dots thank you a devoted fan!🥰🤗🌻💜❤️🌺🌹🎈🏄🚗🛎🙂

    • @TheDottingCenter
      @TheDottingCenter  Před rokem

      Hi Julie. Most of dotting problems are paint problems. If you get the paint right, the good dots will follow. Thin with Liquitex pouring medium. I’ve tried everything else and this is the BEST.

    Do you recommend using a chalk base paint so that the chalk pencil comes off easier? Or would an acrylic base paint be fine? I have chalk pencils but not chalk paint so I'm wondering if I can get away with just using my black acrylic for the base.

      Great question! Once you get used to the paint and the tool you can adjust the amount of paint to get a bigger or smaller dot size. If you want them all the same size, pay attention to how much paint covers the tip and just make sure you get the same amount each time.

    YOU SHOULD WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE TRYING, because while she explains well some of the things she`s doing she leaves other things out completely - such as how thick to paint the background color before starting, how to center the stencil, and the reason behind the trails of dots going from large to small without the tool being switched out.
    #constructivecriticism

    • @TheDottingCenter
      @TheDottingCenter  Před rokem

      The background color should take 1 coat of paint.
      Center the stencil on the block by matching the margins on each side before tracing.
      Using a stylus tool will create descending dots of paint without the need to reload. 👍
