  • Testing my hand-built Trinity 5E3 Tweed Amp for the first time, using a PRS Custom 24 guitar. The Cabinet (from Guitar Cabinets Direct) is loaded with a Celestion Alnico Blue 12" Speaker...sweet!

    Man it sounds beautiful!.. Can't imagine La Grange with the tone around 2:42...

    Thanks for the quick demo. I would love to try building one of these. Trinity makes a good quality product. I have one of their 18 watt Marshall type TMB heads. Great amp.

      I built the Mojotone 18w as my first kit amp...I'm happy with it, but I think Trinity is the way to go!

    Great amp. Bought a used one after trying many amps over the years and this one is still in my practice room.

    Nice work! I like the way you finish the power section first and get it out of the way. Fun stuff!

    Awesome. I love all of my tube amplifiers from the '60s. I don't' have this one though. I like the low impedance input sound.

      I have to say, this little amp is fast becoming my favorite!

    I've had mine for years. Normally run it with the channels jumpered.
    Really good amp.
    I just prefer my tramps.

    Sounds wonderful. Maybe you figured it out by now, but you don't need to turn the unused channels volume down. The volume knobs are interactive and can give you different things in terms of sound and headroom if you play with them a bit

      Thanks...I have been playing with the interactive controls. I love to run the unused channel at around 7-8 as it adds some nice bottom-end. I really LOVE this amp!

      @@carmeltones7697 Another cute trick is to use a small guitar cable to connect the channels (say, bright hi to normal low) if you're only playing one guitar through it. All the triodes are in-play then.

    Do the channels work together like a deluxe? Not jumping the channels but if you’re in the normal and you crank the other channels volume does it alter the normal channel tone?

    • @carmeltones7697
      @carmeltones7697  Před 3 lety

      Yes, the channels are interactive. For example, if I plug into the bright channel, I'll turn the normal channel volume up to about 8 and the bright volume up to 1 or 2 - it seems to add more depth to the tone than just using the bright volume (or vice versa).

    Can anyone please tell me...will this amp will blow out my family's ears if I practice in another room while they're trying to watch TV, like say in the next room over?

    • @carmeltones7697
      @carmeltones7697  Před 3 lety

      It can, depending on what type of music you're practicing. Even though it's only 15 watts, this baby can crank it out! Best to use an active load box like the Two Notes Torpedo Captor X and a pair of headphones if you want to keep peace in the family. However, it produces a sweet tone at low volume if you don't need to push it into break-up.

      @@carmeltones7697 thanks alot for the response. I appreciate the feedback about the active load box...I was looking this morning for whether or not there is a mod on the web for installing a headphone jack. Also thanks for the video. Take care.

    It would sound better with a real guitar

    • @carmeltones7697
      @carmeltones7697  Před 2 lety +1

      It actually sounds pretty damn good with all my guitars from my '69 SG to 2019 Strat, but best with my custom Collings I-35 with Throback pickups...
