I sang this song in children’s choir at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Texas back in the 90s. I love the ensemble! Never thought that’s what they did with this song; I thought the entire choir sang the whole song.

The young man who sang the lead is the sone of the choir director. He wasnt even the best boy singer, but she always pushed him to the front and gave him more chances than some of the other kids who were better singers than he was. He even used to say that it wasnt fair.
It’s not about who is better. Sometimes we have to push the others so they can know that they’re just as important, no matter how they sound.
