You're the coolest man 😂, I remember first seeing you with a few other guys at a table in a gunshop talking about guns. I'm still trying to remember where I seen that
I broke my back a few years ago and had to have a double fusion surgery on my spine. During the surgery I flatlined and had the out of body experience. I can still remember the serial number on the back of the light used for my surgery. After they unsuccessfully tried to revive me the doctors put me on a Steel table and put me in the hallway. I’m pretty sure I was on my way to the morgue because when I did come back, the doctors and nurses were arguing about who was gonna tell my family. I’m not going to talk too much about what I saw but all I know is after I told my neurosurgeon, who performed my surgery he wouldn’t see me again. I had to go back to his office after I got out of the hospital and he wouldn’t even look at me. The afterlife is real but most importantly GOD IS REAL…

I can't believe that most doctors and surgeons refuse to believe all the stories that they must hear after years of experience? Surely they must know about It? Is it almost like it's a conspiracy to keep a lid on it? And what about all the nurse's?
I was in car accident at 17, in coma for 5 days, nothing. Had open heart surgery at 54, heart stopped for 66 minutes, had NDE and it was heavenly, didn't want to come back but had to, was told I was going to help a lot of people less fortunate in the world. It's been hard because the people I help don't always appreciate it, but I can't stop or quit, it's my purpose now. God bless!

Absolutely! I was an ER trauma nurse for 26 years. A guy told me he remembered “medical people” doing things to him. He thought he was near the ceiling looking down on himself. He then went for a walk around the ER and then came back to his room. This is when he was revived. Believe me, truth is much stranger than fiction.
I had Icu psychosis and delirium after a 21 day coma ..is this at all common
I had a NDE, I floated above my body and floated through a wall into a different dimension. It is real, my deceased grandfather was there to meet me.
That's called a dream, you wanted to see your deceased grandfather it's your mind coping with loss.
I believe you. I watched my mom pass and the nurse and myself watched my mom do something seconds before her death. Too long to explain. My cousin went through something similar to your experience also.

I had a psychology teacher at ASU tell of his NDE. It is one of a few lectures I remember. It was a wild story that made me a believer in near death experiences. The classic tunnel of light story after a car wreck when he was a senior in HS. He was pinned under his vehicle and came to when the lifted the vehicle off of him. He was pronounced dead on the scene and was under the vehicle with a wind wing pierced through his back for over twenty minutes. He scared the hell out of the firemen when he rolled over and screamed. He was able to tell his friends the details of the scene looking down from above. He said he did not want leave the place he was at but felt himself being sucked back into his body. Knowing this I hope to find apprehension rather than fear when I face death having now started the journey of walking with our Lord Jesus Christ.

They convinced you based off a story? What else do you accept so easily? Also, how did you get from non believer to Christ specifically? Why not Brahma Krishna or vishnu?
The only shocking thing to me is how long it has taken the medical community to finally truly investigate and validate this truth.
It’s not shocking, the education department pushes all its students to not believe in phenomena as such. They deny all supernatural.
We have an enemy who's the god of this World and is very good at covering this stuff up because if we know this then the Bible is real and then people would believe in Jesus whos the only one who can set you free from said enemy. They will never fully reveal this truth as it goes against they're entire agenda and keeping us scared to die, it keeps us scared and acting like cowards so we don't stand against the enemies tyrannical ways.

Correct! Mostly it was just ignored in past decades. Just like UFOs until NAVY pilots tracked UFOs with sensors on their Jets.

Shawn thank you for this channel...My oldest Brother served in the Army 82nd or 101st Airborne, Green Beret Paratroopers/Sargent 1st Class....A hero he was...he lost a foot, had to pretend to be dead for a couple of days and was finally rescued...and taken to Walter Reed Hospital because be got gange green and they had to cut off more of his leg up to the knee... plus parasites in his stomach... three months of recovery...He was a wonderful Christian young man before he even went into the Military...Married his HS Sweetheart, they had three kids and one grandchild before he died in an vehicle accident down in Gainesville FL, in August 1998. My younger son served in the Navy both Iraq and Afghanistan 2005 & 2006 first as a medic with the Marines...then as Special ops in SWCC but he has NOT spoken about his experience at all...but his Sr Chief came to visit after my son left the Navy to let me snd his wife know that Randall served well. My father served as a Sergeant in the ARMY WW2 IN JAPAN...he taught me how to say "thank you" in Japanese, but otherwise, NEVER spoke of his experiences.

A transformative journey led me to a pivotal moment where Divine Intervention changed the direction of my life. A severe migraine became the catalyst for my decision to cease drinking a 1/2 gallon a day cold turkey. Alright, I’ve had two NDE and each time what he explains is exactly what I told ppl every experience and you get an overwhelming feeling of love after going through a tunnel which is hard to explain and when you float you have a body but you can’t see it and you just see colors you’ve never seen before and it’s just hard to explain that to ppl who haven’t had the experience. I told them exactly what happened and they were in complete shock that I had just explained what I saw to these surgeons. It was the most beautiful experience and I now know what comes afterwards and I’m not scared to die now. You do go somewhere and it’s just pure love.

Had an NDE. i rememeber the very last breath i took, was filled with euforia and bliss, then my soul left my body. When i saw my own body, from up under the cieling, i got terrified and flew back into my body. ive never been afraid of dying since then.

Can confirm it’s called Midas Rex. I’m a medical device rep and I’ve heard of these stories every so often, where patients can remember the surgical team conversations and what music is playing. (And when shitty teams make fun of the patient’s weight or body)
I was a CST (I did spines, a-lif’s & p-lif’s) and I’ve heard a few of these stories as well. Their was one tech who made fun of the stories but, I think he did it because he was a devout atheist.

I’m in my 70’s- by Earth years, anyway. Had a near death experience in my 20’s that reminded me of where our real Home is. Chose to come back to raise children. Throughout my own extremely abusive childhood I never felt that I fit in here. Seeing no way out of the abuse, I even attempted suicide when I was very young. Obviously, I failed. Since then I have endured the deaths of two of my own children, many horrific experiences, dealt with dozens of dangerous people and at one point even had to stop a serial killer. All of my family and friends engage in trivial pursuits as if those are important. And they hurt one another. My mission here is not the “norm,” which isolates me psychologically. It’s a huge challenge to be here enduring an extremely tough life, but the more difficult it is the greater the opportunity there is to learn. The lessons just keep getting deeper. I look forward to going Home and hope I have learned enough not to return here. Hang in there, Homies. You’ll make it and be better for having gone through this tumultuous adventure. ♥️
This is exactly why and I’m a nurse. Tell people not patience, but family and friends never to listen to the doctors when they say that there is no brain activity and encourage them to pull the plug.
I had one, had a seizure, saw myself from outside the car I was in. I was traveling above it as we were otw to the hospital.
When I explained what I’d experienced, they put me in a psych ward.

The best NDE I ever heard to this day is from Dean Braxton and his testimony lines up perfectly with the Bible and the Grace of Jesus Christ for the believer.

I had a NDE when my Son was born.....I knew things that happened in the operating room that I could not possibly have known.....like, both surgeons took their masks and gloves off and were having a conversation over my bleeding body, after a Caesarean Section..... Doctors NEVER REMOVE THEIR MASKS AND GLOVES BEFORE SEWING A SURGICAL PATIENT UP....one that is flayed open after incision! They pulled my Son out and shortly after, I coded.
I watched the Doctors remove their masks and gloves, all my attention on my newborn Son.....my only concern was his well being and safety. I don't know when I returned to my body, but it was sometime before the next morning.... I remember being in my hospital room, breastfeeding my young son.
I can tell you there is more to this life..... And when we leave, we don't leave our loved ones behind, unattended! ❤.
I am a 'rational-minded' British man, now age 40, and I have had 2 Out of Body Experiences and various Lucid dreams states throughout my life so far. These experiences changed my opinion about consciousness because during these experiences i could perceive things in a different location and thereafter I could verify it was real. I sometimes question whether it was an hallucination but considering these experiences felt more real than my current waking reality , and the fact I witnessed things whilst my consciousness was seemingly separated from my body, makes me think I am wrong about the hallucination theory. It must have something to do with the "non-locality" of consciousness , so to speak, and quantum states. I am not sure we will ever understand , but my experiences were literally out of this world, and I hope I can have more.

I did, too... first try I fell flat on my back and hit my heels and the back of my head. I had dragged the covers with me. That's how I knew I floated .... I made it near the door. Later, i learned to travel without my physical body, I visited Italy ... and space! But somehow, I was still connected with my body, and often worried if I was gonna be able to find me, and if i didn't, I was gonna miss my mom so terribly. It all stopped, and I don't even remember when or how ... I'm glad to have found another traveler 😊

I died during open heart surgery and can remember spending thousands of life times in another realm I remember everything from it even escaping that place and making it back to my body
That blending of senses is called synesthesia, it is somewhat rare condition where two or more senses blend into one.
I have had this as long as I can remember, which causes me to see sounds as geometric colorful shapes.
Some hallucinogens can induce this…. Seeing sounds or hearing colors (light)
Acid does that for me
I had that as a child but it faded away. I used to count in colours, and could feel the shape of tastes.

Romans 2 11-16. You are correct. I have talked to some until I was blue in the face. It's not so much a question of belief as it is obedience. The devil and is demons believe in God. They know He exists. They just decided to rebel. Deep down people believe in something, they know, the bible says they know. But they want to do their own thing.

NDE’s are incredibly interesting and I hope they are studied more and more.
I myself haven't had an NDE but i have trained myself in energy values ie vibrations etc, & i see what these peoples experiences are saying. So we have the ability to do it on this earth & im just a simple human .
Oh my goodness! So many proofs of God’s existence!!
Just for clarification, people have reported similar percentages of good/bad/mixed good and bad NDEs regardless of their religiosity, or their lack of it. This is very important to note so that certain religious groups don't use the phenomenon of NDEs to push their own dogmas.
I also ponder why most people reporting NDEs state that they are given a "choice" of whether they are allowed to return to their earthly lives, or to remain in the afterlife. Many, many people die at a time when they are desperately needed in this life. Why are people experiencing NDEs given a choice in the matter when so many others aren't?
Finally, it is noteworthy that the vast majority of people near death don't have these experiences at all. Why?
I am not trying to debunk NDEs. They represent a genuine mystery and I am glad that doctors and researchers are taking them seriously. I am just saying that _all_ aspects of NDEs should be studied before we come to the conclusion that they are a true glimpse into the afterlife.
We're not always given a choice. In my first NDE I was expelled back to life without a say.
It's important to differentiate authenticated NDE and what people report. Based on authenticated NDE, there are many common overlapping experiences. As far as religiosity, that would prove a personal God, who knows our heart and soul.

I'm not understanding how one determines which NDEs are _authentic,_ and which are “mere reports”. Could you be a bit more specific?
As for religion, both Christians and Muslims believe that only members of their faith go to heaven, while the rest of us go to hell. NDEs paint a totally different picture.
@valerielhw Authenticated NDE has been confirmed by factual statements. Anyone can say they had a NDE. Not everyone's experience can be authenticated/confirmed. Based on authenticated NDE, there are overlapping experiences that point to Biblical verses. God doesn't judge based on someone's religion. God loves everyone, and only God knows each person's heart and soul.

Hate to break it to you, but the Bible is not scientifically accurate. In addition, many statements in the Old Testament prove that the Bible is not _morally_ accurate, either. So, NDEs based on "Biblical verses" are no more significant to me than NDEs based on verses in the 'Book of Mormon', 'The Koran' or other religious texts.

I do give you credit for not preaching that non-Christians will face eternal torment. That puts you light-years ahead of most Christians, in my opinion. I will say that, regardless of the evil that one does in this life, no one deserves *eternal* punishment for *finite* crimes.
I am a believer! I also believe theres a reason why more and more people are having these experiences and talking about these experiences. I hope collectivly we can become more aware of our spiritual nature and remember that we are here to learn and grow! Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon that causes involuntary experiences in one sensory or cognitive pathway when another is stimulated. For example, someone with synesthesia might see shapes when they hear music, or see a color when they hear a name.
There is an old BBC documentary called "The Day I Died" about NDE. I think the first story was in that documentary, if not both.
I heard of one where a was very sick woman, where her mother and relatives were around her when she was above looking down at them. She thought about her sister who wasn't there she transported to the sister home then thought about her dad and again transported to his home.
He's talking about Synesthesia...
I've had Disassociation which Is as near to an NDE as you want, everything in slow motion.
I'm a nurse of over 30 years, this is not unusual.
Total Consciousness
I had one. You sort of float around like a ball. You feel like yourself, but can't see your own body...just feel like a ball moving around. I appeared at the entrance of a tunnel or cave. Standing there, with a body, was a powerful figure that I intuitively understood to be Jesus, although I also understood that I couldn't look at his face because I had sin. He spoke and his voice was like an earthquake and tsunami all in one, and was so powerful that it almost tore me to pieces....it threw me out of his presence.
The 4th dimension is understood as a doorway or hallway between the 3rd and 5th dimension.
Entering 4th dimension and higher removes another layer or filter in which you start to experience

Most likely because nothing is singular or stable in the 5th dimension causing senses as well as matter to overlap. - my book

My sister years ago was brought back to life after a heart attack,she told me and others she was in the room up above her
body watching them work on here and told them exactly how many times they shocked her i believed in a after life before this and it reasured hope that we go on , she also said she seen people in white hooded robes in groups talking but could not see their faces by the way they were standing in groups and was a peaceful experience.

I had something happen in California about I don't know 2002 - 2003 they had to shock me to bring me back I didn't see anything I didn't see anything at all and float above my body nothing happened until after I came back so for about 3 to 6 months I was hearing I don't know things aren't there talking I was seeing ghosts I was singing like they look like you could see through them but but not like they were I was seeing soldier it was wild and it freaked me out so much and it finally just stopped it's like the door just closed one day

I had brain surgery and I remember seeing my 2 grown daughters! Which are only children. An my dead wife standing together! She told me everything Is going to be okay! It looked like bright heavenly lights behind them. I told this to the person that was watching over me after surgery! The look on her face was like she believed what I had said. An that's all I really remember.

Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what some scientists are now referring to as the unified field of consciousnesses. In other words, it’s the essence of all existence and non-existence - the ultimate creative force behind planets, stars, nebulae, people, animals, trees, fish, birds, and all phenomena, manifest or latent. All matter and intelligence are simply waves or ripples manifesting to and from this core source. Consciousness (enlightenment) is itself the actual creator of everything that exists now, ever existed in the past, or will exist in the future - right down to the minutest particles of dust - each being an individual ripple or wave.
The big difference between chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo and most other conventional prayers is that instead of depending on a ‘middleman’ to connect us to our state of inner enlightenment, we’re able to do it ourselves. That’s because chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo allows us to tap directly into our enlightened state by way of this self-produced sound vibration. ‘Who or What Is God?’ If we compare the concept of God being a separate entity that is forever watching down on us, to the teachings of Nichiren, it makes more sense to me that the true omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of what most people perceive to be God, is the fantastic state of enlightenment that exists within each of us. Some say that God is an entity that’s beyond physical matter - I think that the vast amount of information continuously being conveyed via electromagnetic waves in today’s world gives us proof of how an invisible state of God could indeed exist.
For example, it’s now widely known that specific data relayed by way of electromagnetic waves has the potential to help bring about extraordinary and powerful effects - including an instant global awareness of something or a mass emotional reaction. It’s also common knowledge that these invisible waves can easily be used to detonate a bomb or to enable NASA to control the movements of a robot as far away as the Moon or Mars - none of which is possible without a receiver to decode the information that’s being transmitted. Without the receiver, the data would remain impotent. In a very similar way, we need to have our own ‘receiver’ switched on so that we can activate a clear and precise understanding of our own life, all other life and what everything else in existence is.
Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day helps us to achieve this because it allows us to reach the core of our enlightenment and keep it switched on. That’s because Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what scientists now refer to as the unified field of consciousnesses. To break it down - Myoho represents the Law of manifestation and latency (Nature) and consists of two alternating states. For example, the state of Myo is where everything in life that’s not obvious to us exists - including our stored memories when we’re not thinking about them - our hidden potential and inner emotions whenever they’re dormant - our desires, our fears, our wisdom, happiness, karma - and more importantly, our enlightenment.
The other state, ho, is where everything in Life exists whenever it becomes evident to us, such as when a thought pops up from within our memory - whenever we experience or express our emotions - or whenever a good or bad cause manifests as an effect from our karma. When anything becomes apparent, it merely means that it’s come out of the state of Myo (dormancy/latency) and into a state of ho (manifestation). It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing.
The second law - Renge - Ren meaning cause and ge meaning effect, governs and controls the functions of Myoho - these two laws of Myoho and Renge, not only function together simultaneously but also underlies all spiritual and physical existence.
The final and third part of the tri-combination - Kyo, is the Law that allows Myoho to integrate with Renge - or vice versa. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects all Life and matter - as well as the past, present and future. It’s also sometimes termed the Universal Law of Communication - perhaps it could even be compared with the string theory that many scientists now suspect exists.
Just as the cells in our body, our thoughts, feelings and everything else is continually fluctuating within us - all that exists in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux - constantly controlled by these three fundamental laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of Myo and ho in a single moment than it would ever be possible to calculate or describe. And it doesn’t matter how big or small, famous or trivial anything or anyone may appear to be, everything that’s ever existed in the past, exists now or will exist in the future, exists only because of the workings of the Laws ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ - the basis of the four fundamental forces, and if they didn’t function, neither we nor anything else could go on existing. That’s because all forms of existence, including the seasons, day, night, birth, death and so on, are moving forward in an ongoing flow of continuation - rhythmically reverting back and forth between the two fundamental states of Myo and ho in absolute accordance with Renge - and by way of Kyo. Even stars are dying and being reborn under the workings of what the combination ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ represents. Nam, or Namu - which mean the same thing, are vibrational passwords or keys that allow us to reach deep into our life and fuse with or become one with ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’.
On a more personal level, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives - as well as the environment from moment to moment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth is spinning, and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo for a minimum of, let’s say, ten minutes daily to start with, any of us can experience actual proof of its positive effects in our lives - even if it only makes us feel good on the inside, there will be a definite positive effect. That’s because we’re able to pierce through the thickest layers of our karma and activate our inherent Buddha Nature (our enlightened state). By so doing, we’re then able to bring forth the wisdom and good fortune that we need to challenge, overcome and change our adverse circumstances - turn them into positive ones - or manifest and gain even greater fulfilment in our daily lives from our accumulated good karma. This also allows us to bring forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that’s preventing us from accepting and being proud of the person that we indeed are - regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexuality. We’re also able to see and understand our circumstances and the environment far more clearly, as well as attract and connect with any needed external beneficial forces and situations. As I’ve already mentioned, everything is subject to the law of Cause and Effect - the ‘actual-proof-strength’ resulting from chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo always depends on our determination, sincerity and dedication.
For example, the levels of difference could be compared to making a sound on a piano, creating a melody, producing a great song, and so on. Something else that’s very important to always respect and acknowledge is that the Law (or if you prefer God) is in everyone and everything.
NB: There are frightening and disturbing sounds, and there are tranquil and relaxing sounds. It’s the emotional result of any noise or sound that can trigger off a mood or even instantly change one. When chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day, we are producing a sound vibration that’s the password to our true inner-self - this soon becomes apparent when you start reassessing your views on various things - such as your fears and desires etc. The best way to get the desired result when chanting is not to view things conventionally - rather than reaching out to an external source, we need to reach into our own lives and bring our needs and desires to fruition from within - including the good fortune and strength to achieve any help that we may need. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo also reaches out externally and draws us towards, or draws towards us, what we need to make us happy from our environment. For example, it helps us to be in the right place at the right time - to make better choices and decisions and so forth. We need to think of it as a seed within us that we’re watering and bringing sunshine to for it to grow, blossom and bring forth fruit or flowers. It’s also important to understand that everything we need in life, including the answer to every question and the potential to achieve every dream, already exists within us.

jimi hendrix claims to have had synasthesia - which was why he wrote "Axis : bold as love".... where he would assign emotions to the colors
you could taste words.... feel numbers.... etc.
imagine a mathematician getting bodily sensations while working with his mathametics.... or a writer who is like "hmm those words are kinda lemony"

I came into the comments to see if someone mentioned synesthesia. You did a fantastic job defining and explaining it. I'm a lifelong Catholic and believer in God, but the NDE doesn't strengthen my faith. It's clear the brain is still alive enough to observe things, because it's still able to come back to full function, we just can't observe that activity externally. If these anecdotes help people believe, that's wonderful.
Pam Reynold's case was instrumental in launching my research of some 10 years by now plus having taken interest in them since the publication of Dr. Raymond Moody's "Life After Life" in the 70ies. I have no doubt about our consciousness surviving death, but that in and of itself is _anything but good news_ following my own NDE at age four, which was of a rather dysphoric, dsytopian nature. I haven't found many similar reports of such, only that of Dr. Nancy Evans Bush who coincidentally was director of IANDS for many years. She integrates her experience in the book "Dancing Past the Dark".

I wonder if Pam also heard the high pitched “whirring” sound that the Midas-Rex makes. I used to work in the OR as a CST/CFA although I worked with orthopedic surgeons doing spines but, I’ve heard the Midas many times. I’ve heard surgeons talking about patients who had nde’s but, they didn’t know what to make of those stories…that was many, many years ago.
Pam Reynolds had her nde in 1991 in Phoenix Arizona. She eventually passed away in 2010.
As a matter of fact, she did, and correctly replicated the pitch of the saw.
I love NDE and most are similar. We need more medical from trauma units testifying experiences.

you know, in the middle of the last century, were was discovered that human is an immortal spiritual being and uses mind and has a body ... by the way, the out of body experience is called exteriorization and it experienced as a positive effect of certain spiritual practices, which everyone can do in a more pleasant conditions, comparing to the clinical death event ... and yes, we originally have more than 50 senses, not just 5 or 6 😃

What the author described as "combined senses" is called Synesthesia... Smelling a color... Watching a sound... Hearing a perfume etc... it's very rare in everyday life but pretty common with NDErs... I have a good friend of mine who has what's called a "perfect hear"... These people like Mozart, can hear a melody just once and reproduce it immediately on a piano with 100% accuracy... My friend told me more than once that this ability was bothering him because he can't LISTEN to a music track instead he SEES the notes that compose the music... And he can't help it... Freaky eh ?

Some people who have had a NDE have seen people in their experience that they hadn't even known had died at that time. Yet they come back with accurate details about how they died which would otherwise be impossible for them to know. So how do you account for that?
What scares me the most about this story is potentially meeting people that have passed that I desperately never want to see again. THATS why I don’t want to die.

I have not had an NDE, but I have had something more wierd than possible,I live in the south of Holland the Netherlands in a student city called Leiden, It happened when I was 29 ,I am now 57, I laid on my bed to rest, and a few minutes later I had a complete black out, I do not drink, smoke or have any medical condition, but when I blacked out ,I came back but not to the same state of lying in my bed, but was rather standing in front of my resting body, at the same time my original resting body was awake and aware of my other me looking at the resting me, the real me was moving around but the observer me could see everything I was doing as an outer observer, there were two me at the same time, the observer me saw everything and the real me was aware of the observer me, it was so so scary, I panicked , this went on for a few minutes, then the observer me sort of pushed itself back into the me on the bed, then I was one whole again instead of 2 people at the same time,, I think about this event regularly and have no explanation what so ever, I am sure of what happened, very sure. Does anyone know what that is, or was?
There is this thing called - false awakening. I'd say that was it in your case. Google it and check out for yourself.

@ShawnRyanClips what he’s describing sounds like synesthesia. It’s a neurological condition where your senses are blended together. I personally experience sound to color, also, some words have a texture and a taste.
How come i freaking go and die, heart stopped lungs aren't pumping, and i get nothing. No light at end of tunnel no dead dogs coming to meet me nothing. I wake up in hospital and im thinking wtf happened? I can't speak because theres all this crap down my throat and nobody is explaining.
