IT'S DONE! My SOLARBEAM YELLOW AMG GT Black Series is COMPLETE

- It's time to collect my completed Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series in Solarbeam Yellow! The full respray has now been finished and it's ready to be brought back home as a totally unique, one-off special car. The result is absolutely perfect!
I bought the AMG GT Black Series a few months ago in Graphite Grey Magno always with the intention to change the colour to my favourite AMG Solarbeam, a colour that was used to present both previous Black Series models (SLS and C63) but no longer available from factory. As much as I tried, it was not possible to get a paint to sample, or custom colour outside of the standard 8 options for UK customers so the best option was to bring it back to Chartwell like my SLS Black Series 1.5 years ago and fully repaint it!
While it looked exceptionally menacing in the satin black, and very much the Batmobile, there's something I always enjoy about a stunning paint colour and the multi-layer yellow used by AMG is something else. Given I fully intend to use this car properly and not try to spare the miles, for me this was the way to go.
The good news though, is that the result is perfect! After loading the Shmeemobile up with Turbo Transport, it's straight over to @TopazDetailing ready to get the paintwork fully protected and ready for the road. I could not be happier with how it has turned out, a truly special colour for the AMG GT Black Series and one that will look fantastic in my garage going forwards.

I noticed that the stock carbon fiber louvers are painted,why didn't you leave them exposed?

Just a suggestion the chrome on the door handles in my opinion would definitely look better in black.

Man I just wish that the small accents like all of the badges and door handle weren't chrome. Maybe the black chrome found on the interior of the STO would be cool!
Agreed. I also think the brake calipers would look great in mystic blue, to offset his SLS.

That’s exactly what I was thinking! I personally probably would have also done the louvred fenders in exposed carbon fibre but if the chrome was wrapped in black chrome similarly to what he did on the AMG GTR Pro then it would go a lot better in my opinion.

And why are the door handles still Chrome? These are the only Chrome Details Outside.... Think IT will Look better in black gloss....the Rest ist awesome 😍😍

I think it goes well with the outer edge of hai wheels, they are silver or gloss and looks great with door handles. I'm just wondering why he didn't make the front fender louvers in black?

Fantastic! Not entirely sure about the silver door handles and i maybe would have left the louvered fenders stock. Cant wait to see it on the 'ring'!

Love the rich yellow which looks mustardy even when the sun isn't out. Probably the best yellow you could get on any car. Really glad with the decision that the bootlid should be yellow as well, I always found it to be a bit off.
I think the bootlid in black gives it more character and makes it look even more aggressive

@@Rickard53 Just so there is a differentiation between the models, also the black trunk ties in well with the carbon roof and the carbon bonnet, as well it makes the rear wing struts look more integrated on the car.

Played his cards right, bought the GTR, The GTR Pro, THE GTR Roadster, The SLS, The c63. Mercedes knows he's not going to flip it immediately and is a loyal customer due to buying all of their GT variants. He knows what he's doing and so does mercedes haha
I think he was on the promo ads for this car so don't think it was a stretch to assume he was on the allocation list.

I must be honest I’ve never loved the look of the AMG GT. This however has completely transformed the car for me, what a colour! Just makes me wonder how nice the C63 black series would look in a bold colour. Imagine how fun it would be to put the C63 black in magma orange? Swapping the two cars with each of their launch colours!!

i was fortunate enough to see this car during a tour of Chartwell last week and the video doesn't do it justice at all, the colour is amazing.
I gaped at the paint color when you pulled back the car cover. My mouth just hanged open - that's a beautiful yellow! I also gaped at the Huracan STO ... that viola bast is awesome!

I'll be honest, I loved the matte black and I wasn't a huge fan of the decision initially, but there's something just so right about a Solarbeam Black Series, it just works. You've knocked it out of the park with this one yet again, and the collection's getting more colorful by the day!

Another awesome paint job. No problems with the chrome touches. Adds a character twist to it, and it will quickly grow on the looker as time goes by.
