    Nice content sir.
    I think the computation for mortar presented in the video is called the "Hundred Block Method" (HBM). For me, I still prefer the Area Method. Much easier for computation and we don,t need to worry about the annoying 100 value thing or 0.01 value (not 0.10).
    I think there is a slight error in the computation. It's not the area of the wall that is substituted in the computation. It is the number of CHB.
    So; (Class B Mortar)
    For HBM Method
    CEMENT = 573 pcs x 0.01 x 4.176 = 23.93 or 24 Bags.
    SAND = 573 pcs x 0.01 x 0.348 = 1.99 or 2 cu.m
    For Area Method
    CEMENT = 45.84 Sq.m x 0.522 = 23.93 or 24 Bags.
    SAND = 45.84 Sq.m x .0435 = 1.99 or 2 cu.m
    Therefore, the computation shows similar results. The difference is the table factor they are using. There are other ways of computing the materials like the volume Method but requires patience to solve.
    Furthermore, we will add the computation of plaster of the wall of two-sided surface, let say the thickness is 25mm or 1"
    For Plaster for Class B Mixture in 25mm thickness
    TOTAL SURFACE AREA = 45.84 Sq.m x 2 sided surface = 91.68 Sq.m
    CEMENT = 91.68 x .300 = 27.50 or 28 Bags
    SAND = 91.98 x .025 = 2.30 cu.m or 3 cu.m
    Note: If you want a lesser thickness of the plaster of 16mm, the value for cement is 0.192, and 0.016 for sand in class B mixture
    If we add the percentage wastage of each material on one side of the concrete wall, we will arrive at the overall quantity of that object. The wastage usually ranges from 5% to 10% depending on how your mason and labor work neatly and precisely. Let say 5% wastage
    CHB = (573x5%) + 573 = 602 pcs
    CEMENT = ((24+28)x5%) + (24+28) = 54.6 or 55 Bags
    SAND = ((2+3)x5%) + ( 2+3) = 5.25 or 6 cu.m
    The expected amount will be PHP 41,200 round-off of that material labor considering the 30% labor and 5% wastage. If we neglect the plaster in the computation, the expected amount must be PHP 27,500. We have noted also that on our sample computation, the contingency is momentarily neglected which I think when added to the estimate increases the amount.
    Hope this help, thanks =)

      Hello and thank you to you both for a very informative and helpful post. I am wondering though why the plastering factor changes with thickness. Does this mean that the concrete mixture/ratio has to change too?

      0.0277m3 = around 1cu.ft. sa ratio ng concrete proportion is in terms of cubic foot. 1:2:4 means 1cu.ft cement: 2cu.ft sand: 4cu.ft gravel. Thanks for watching

Ang tanong ko po yung mortar na 1:5:5 matibay po ba yun abot sa 4/f kasi po. Or may idea po kayo.kung chb gamitin ko maliban sa.flushing ano pa pwede nyo.recomend ano po.gawin ko para di pumasok tubig salamat po.

      hello po di q po mavisualize gaano ung condition pero ang malinaw po eh kung pano pwedeng gawin sa pagitan ng wall nio para di pasukin ng tubig, kung may part na di pwede flashing gawin nio nalang po pulido ung pagsemente sa top ng wall para pwede pinturahan ng waterproofing.
