Bulgaria in 1998. 4 years after the World Cup in USA, my country's national team was in a group with Spain, Paraguay and maybe Nigeria. The experts think that Bulgaria will qualify for at least quarterfinals at the World Cup but it doesn't happen. After 1998 there was NO World Cup appearances for the Bulgarian National Team anymore.

uruguay (lost to goal difference)
germany (i didnt expect them to get through i expected them to lose against japan)
denmark (last placed while having tunisia and australia in their group💀)
sebia (lost to switzerland and remained on the groups)
italy (somehow lost to farmers)
sweden (failed to reach the groups)
egypt (failed to reach the groups)
belgium (after the first game it was obvious)
Denmark was the most disappointing one! Colombia, Ukraine and Algeria also didn't qualify
For Spain and Italy the World Cup curse was already upon them
You forgot also France 2010 is the same year with Italy and Argentina 2002 too with Portugal 2002 and 2014
Yes they won the championship but they didn’t qualified for the World Cup 2 years after
