I have a 2020 EcoBoost, and I've gotten up to 33 mpg on highway trips. As long as you don't punch it hard you get great gas mileage. But every once in awhile it is fun to hot dog it.😁

Almost a full year ago I bought my first car on my own. Got a 2018 mustang eco boost in ruby red, brand new with 17 miles on it. I got a crazy good deal on it. Ended up paying $22k ! But a year later, 15k miles later I absolutely love my daily driver.

I bought my EcoBoost not for the sound and not because I am saving vs V8. I bought it to use as a daily driver. Where I live most V8 are sold after owners got over them due to high costs of ownership and fact that they have it as a garage queen and when they need cash it’s the first thing to go. And guess what? Price plummeted for V8.

Great honest review, thank you. As a 2015 Aston Martin Vantage V8 4.7l manual driver, in 2018 my wife and I rented a Mustang Ecoboost convertible auto for a two week driving holiday in New England. We loved it. The Aston was a beautiful car, but despite having 410bhp, the Mustang felt more powerful due to its low down torque. This was even more noticeable when I took delivery of my new 2019 upgraded Ecoboost.

My dream car is still a blacked out Mustang GT, but I bought a brand new 2018 eco boost mustang with performance pack in shadow black with the 6 speed and boy is it a head turner. Every where I go people stare at the car because of how aggressive and sinister it looks. Not only that, I get good gas mileage and it’s surprisingly fast for a turbo 4. Not many 4 cylinders on the market right now can put out 310 horsepower, this engine is no joke. However I still will one day get my GT, nothing can compare to a V8 mustangs power and roar

Great review. I have been thinking about getting a mustang V8 for a long time mainly for the roar of the engine and performance in general. I however have been second guessing whether I needed the power of a V8 especially up here in Ontario Canada where you can get a speeding ticket with a Prius. Your video therefore makes a lot of sense. Sometimes people instinctively know what the right answer to a question should be but don't act on it until someone else points it out.

Getting ready to pull the trigger on one of these. Not a V8 purist, but it helps I already have a 69 Fastback that’s getting close to finish on a frameoff restomod. I’m in SoCal and gas is killing me. To fill up my 18 Ram 1500 is over $100 a tank. This fills a few needs; fun to drive, economical when driven conservatively, and it would pair up nicely with my other one. Getting a new one so no worries on earlier problems. I like this body style and I know it’s getting ready for a major refresh.

asher kothapalli Your mileage will vary with octane (91 minimum for optimum efficiency, both mileage and horsepower/torque). If your foot is a bit heavy, you will get lower mpg numbers.
I own a very lightly modded (K&N drop in filter, custom catback exhaust) 2018 ecoboost in ruby red, and it’s my daily driver. Majority of my commute (40+ miles/day) is highway, and I average 28-30 mpg on 91 octane gas. If I have to drive a lot of city driving, I’ve seen mileage around 22-24 mpg. Do I get on it? Yes, but as it is my daily driver I use the torque and hp judiciously, i.e., as I need it to merge onto the highway/passing.

Hey Elvis, I've gotten a good deal on a 2015 and plan on getting it. I know you've said if you can to avoid that year, but the car seems pretty good overall. Also, I don't plan on beating it up or doing any mods to it. Going to take care of it the best way I can. Just wanted to know your feedback, thanks!

If you can get a carfax history of the car it’s good as well.

Mine is a 15 EB but I’m turning it back in next month. It was my first lease, first car I’ve gotten to pick, and I’ve loved it. As for bullying I’m more getting bullied into getting something else that’s “better” in snow. I test drive a wrx but I didn’t really like the interior. It felt kind of cheap next to the EB.
I never knew about the engine issue, but I babied mine. No mods since it’s a lease, but I’m always on point with oil changes and I have a full set of ws-80 snow tires. My only gripe with my car is how the seatbelt isn’t adjustable. I fill up my tank every two weeks, buuuuuut I may have slipped here. I didn’t use premium gas. 😐 Is there any harm to a car like this if you keep switching between premium and regular gas? Asking for -a friend- my next car.

I have a red 2016 ecoboost convertible with the 6 speed manual. I absolutely love my car, and it has all the power that I need. Only complaints I have are the premium gas, the large blind spot created by the a pillar, the seat coolers and warmers could be stronger, and the radio auto goes to FM when you turn the car on which is annoying. And yeah, I've been made fun of for it. Even got made fun of by a McDonalds employee who asked what engine it had. He said he drove a 3 speed auto car tho which is just pathetic. I assume it was the awful mismatched paint Cobalt with a ricer wing in the lot. If u drive an auto, Idc what u drive but I'd rather have my Mustang. I'd rather have an ecoboost manual over a Mach 1 auto. I would rather have an older v8 Fox Body manual tbh, but now that I have this I'm more than happy. Have to stress that the money I spend on fuel makes me wanna die. In conclusion, I LOVE MY MUSTANG!

I can report that pan and and plug are metal and very well made. Basically Ford looks at saving costs. Small EcoBoost engines up to 2.3L are made in Spain and they all use same oil pan and drain plugs in a universal manner to save costs. The plastic plugs and pan are likely to be the US made ones.

So in my country i have been looking at an 2016 Ecoboost Premium package, it still has valid warranty from the official dealer for ford here up until the end of next year and a full service history. It's at 35 000 miles and seems to be really well kept, thing is it seems a bit overpriced to me since the other once go around the prices that you mention , but this one comes at 25842$. I looked at the car and it seems in good condition and the guy has not done anything to it. Would you say it's worth getting? The car is German , but seems a bit more expensive since american imports are so much cheaper (well with the headache with dealing with the extra documents that is). Oh also it comes with 2 sets of tires.

If it comes with a warranty for a year that’s already a good thing.
Try to talk them down with the price a little and see if they will go down.
