I have a 2020 EcoBoost, and I've gotten up to 33 mpg on highway trips. As long as you don't punch it hard you get great gas mileage. But every once in awhile it is fun to hot dog it.😁
I got a 21 convertible and I got up to 35 on highway at 70 mph probably could get 38 if I did 65
im 21 with two jobs, and i just got my first one. Ford mustang 2019 eco boost premium. #StangGang

Welcome to the stang family
What about me?!!!
Good job bro
@@Dcashkid24 thanks bro
What's your honest opinion? I'm torn between tradition (v8) and wanting something different. I was an SVO fanatic in my teens. (I've got 30 years on you. Lol)
Almost a full year ago I bought my first car on my own. Got a 2018 mustang eco boost in ruby red, brand new with 17 miles on it. I got a crazy good deal on it. Ended up paying $22k ! But a year later, 15k miles later I absolutely love my daily driver.
Was that manual or automatic. ?
I bought my EcoBoost not for the sound and not because I am saving vs V8. I bought it to use as a daily driver. Where I live most V8 are sold after owners got over them due to high costs of ownership and fact that they have it as a garage queen and when they need cash it’s the first thing to go. And guess what? Price plummeted for V8.
I bought my Ecoboost premium for the same reasons. And I bought it used so saved thousands of dollars. It's my daily driver.
Lynda Hammel lucky you if it’s in a good nick. Only reason I bought mine new because it was on offer (end of financial year) and kids who buy eco boost here they drive it hard. I wanted something I know and made its history.
I just want the car be because it's my dream car
I bought EcoBoost 2019...i love it ...that is true this car have not hightspeed like v8 or sound but for daily driver absolutely the best...I love my car
I mean when you think about it, the bulk of sales will go to the ecoboost Mustang anyway, and with the premium package it turns into a nice, comfy daily driver. I got a used 2018 ecoboost Mustang and it rocks!
Hows it holding up tinking about picking on eup with 120km on it
Great honest review, thank you. As a 2015 Aston Martin Vantage V8 4.7l manual driver, in 2018 my wife and I rented a Mustang Ecoboost convertible auto for a two week driving holiday in New England. We loved it. The Aston was a beautiful car, but despite having 410bhp, the Mustang felt more powerful due to its low down torque. This was even more noticeable when I took delivery of my new 2019 upgraded Ecoboost.
Good advice bro. I've been looking at different chassis, years, and trims of Mustangs and I'm leaning towards the Ecoboost the more I learn about it. You covered all categories bro. And you're driving in the snow! On winter tires! On a manual! This is the first video that I saw with all of that. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for this intelligent and frank review. Really well done.
This helped me make my decision on the car, can't wait to pick one up.
Good Luck and welcome to the family
Excellent review brother, really appreciate the video!
BEST Mustang Review ever!! Really great review!
Thank you for being honest and giving great tips to us looking to buy one!
Lol I'm 54 and just bought a EcoBoost premium, love this car,it is a blast to drive, love the new technology, look's amazing in grey with black stripes, stereo sounds nice and full, and love the navigation system. Full leather headlights are amazing, and those p zero tires are real grabbers, like your input on this car, your spot on, thanks
definitely try michelin’s next. i had pzero on mine and i feel the michelin’s grab better
My dream car is still a blacked out Mustang GT, but I bought a brand new 2018 eco boost mustang with performance pack in shadow black with the 6 speed and boy is it a head turner. Every where I go people stare at the car because of how aggressive and sinister it looks. Not only that, I get good gas mileage and it’s surprisingly fast for a turbo 4. Not many 4 cylinders on the market right now can put out 310 horsepower, this engine is no joke. However I still will one day get my GT, nothing can compare to a V8 mustangs power and roar
I’m in the same bracket rn ima just chill with a eco if I can get one hopefully
When a friend of mine finally bought an Eco boost mustang, we encountered a guy in a starbucks telling his friends that it was a "poor man's mustang". I went up to look for him and surprise surprise, it was some guy too young to even own a car. I asked him if he could "show me what a rich man drives these days" while pointing at a parking lot with only one car, the white Eco boost mustang.
Thanks for the honest review, it’s appreciated
damn you earned a sub. thorough video and love the way you were concise with everything. i really like how you compared it to a v8, but didn't downplay how powerful the ecobeast can be.
I purchased my 2018 ecoboost to zip around town to and from work. I mostly drive freeway speeds and I was sick of getting cut of in my truck. It what does what I got for keeping it stock running premium fuel I'm in love.
Can't wait on the 2020 model, with new engine. I love turbo cars, even 4 banggers. so much fun to have with boost.
Great video right on except on one point value it's worth a lot to me. Thank you for your videos. I was at a u tube call out one guy made fun of all room in engine bay. Love my car. 17 EB mustang. 👍
Great review indeed. Set a good foundation for the start of my lookup
I bought a modded one. Big turbo, built motor, cams, aux fuel, and a few other supporting mods. Car had 28,000 miles, with 2,000 miles on the motor, for $23,000. I love it. 400 whp on pump gas, 570 whp on E50.
2000RedR1 how much was your insurance?
@@theviking3112 insurance will probably be base on the base model I'm thinking...✌✌✌
Wish I could have found one already built. Still working on mine.
@@theviking3112 I think it's about $625 every six months.
@@bricklayerlzdp9825 luckily I was able to get in touch with the previous owner and found out what was actually done to the car. I bought it from a dealer.
Great review. I have been thinking about getting a mustang V8 for a long time mainly for the roar of the engine and performance in general. I however have been second guessing whether I needed the power of a V8 especially up here in Ontario Canada where you can get a speeding ticket with a Prius. Your video therefore makes a lot of sense. Sometimes people instinctively know what the right answer to a question should be but don't act on it until someone else points it out.
Great video! Appreciate the information. Really needed this. I really love the content on your channel. I already subscribed 👍
Thanks for the support fam
not everyone wants a v8 im about to but the ecoboost and i love the way it looks and handles
I’m saving up for a 2018 one, thanks man❤️
Lots of real-world information given in a logical format. Here in the U.K. , the Ecoboost, Fastback with Performance Pack, 2020 model year costs £41, 620.
Thanks for the warning lol, Great video
It’s definitely worth it. Got mine used for 7o% of new $$, with 66% of warranty miles/months remaining, in virtually brand new condition. Wonderful car.
Thank you for your honest review I appreciate it
This is perfect i want that because of the look at same time daily.
Getting ready to pull the trigger on one of these. Not a V8 purist, but it helps I already have a 69 Fastback that’s getting close to finish on a frameoff restomod. I’m in SoCal and gas is killing me. To fill up my 18 Ram 1500 is over $100 a tank. This fills a few needs; fun to drive, economical when driven conservatively, and it would pair up nicely with my other one. Getting a new one so no worries on earlier problems. I like this body style and I know it’s getting ready for a major refresh.
`Excellent review, Im looking to buy a mid 2016 / 2017 Ecoboost model, cheers.
I bought brand new 2020 Ecoboost premium 2D coupe and I love it. Has a higher mpg compared to the V8 and a good car for a daily drive. I plan to add some mods to it in the future but for now, I am happy with my purchase.
Love your vid Mr Elvis
I definitely agree with you the EcoBoost mustang is definitely a really nice car I had the 2016 mustang EcoBoost premium it saved me on gas an my insurance payment then I got a mustang 5.0 gt premium then it got expensive so now with the gas price going up an my insurance payment I'm going to trade it in an get the new EcoBoost mustang premium definitely like yr video an hope you do more videos
So true thank you sir,,,got an ecoboost and im proud of it,,I'm only 18 so I don't care what v8 owners says,,,will get my hands on a v8 soon
cobyveron how much is your insurance?
If it's anything like mine it cost hundreds per month for full coverage when under 25.
Agree with everything you said. 2016 EB
I love my 2015 Black Ecoboost I only have upgraded the cold air intake to a Roush style I yet to put a spoiler wing , change the stock rims to a classic 5 spoke style n change the stock hood to a more agressive middle higher hood scoop ramp I cant wait to have them on
Thinking of buying a 2015 with 120km
I get 34 to 36 mpg on the highway and 20 mpg with combined city/highway driving. I love my 2017 Ruby red Mustang Ecoboost. I bought it used for a good price and plan on keeping it as my daily driver.
Wow that's a huge number on Highway, what was the Speed you drove to achieve it. I got consistent 22 mpg combined for 2 and a half years of ownership.
On the highway when I get 36 mpg I'm driving at a steady speed of 60 to 65 mph. If I put the pedal down a few times the mpg will drop to 32 to 33.
asher kothapalli Your mileage will vary with octane (91 minimum for optimum efficiency, both mileage and horsepower/torque). If your foot is a bit heavy, you will get lower mpg numbers.
I own a very lightly modded (K&N drop in filter, custom catback exhaust) 2018 ecoboost in ruby red, and it’s my daily driver. Majority of my commute (40+ miles/day) is highway, and I average 28-30 mpg on 91 octane gas. If I have to drive a lot of city driving, I’ve seen mileage around 22-24 mpg. Do I get on it? Yes, but as it is my daily driver I use the torque and hp judiciously, i.e., as I need it to merge onto the highway/passing.
Very nice video! I would olso like to add something, the ecoboost keeps it's price for a long time(second hand price) in Europe.
Yep . They are also more expensive than in USA. A new one is 45k euros and a 2016 one is 22k . At least rn in Germany
I love my ecoboost mustang! It’s the perfect one for me 😍

Welcome to the family
I agree with u too I love my ecoboost mustang I get complements from people that I have a awesome car
Just bought me a 2020 mustang Gt couple days ago ❤️
Congratulations
Welcome to the Mustang family
Excellent info! Thank you!
Here’s the thing, I’m buying a 2016 eco mustang and it’s only cause I’m gonna be driving it a lot and I’m a big traveler so I’d rather pay less for gas instead of having a gas guzzling v8 and be down almost thousands a year for gas alone. Personally I’m happy about my decision of an eco boost!
i would probably buy the EB version over the GT one because it is much easier to drive in winters in Toronto.
Awesome video!!!! Thank you!!!!
Great video get good gas mileage I had one I loved it but, I got a 5.O now.
I have a backstory why I bought the ecoboost mustang but the reasons had nothing to do with money. The making cars efficient point is true with any vehicle btw, a v8 gets better milage when you drive it slow too. I can speak from experience that the ecoboost is a good fun car, I’ll admit it is very quiet though.
I drove my 2008 GT automatic for 3 years and my 2013 GT manual for 1 year. Before that I drove a 1978 280z manual, 1984 Camero automatic, and a 2004 350z automatic. I just got my 2015 ecoboost a couple weeks ago. It's my first turbo, and that's the fun part for me. I love it!
Nice, hopefully you’ll keep the Ecoboost longer than you kept the other vehicle
@@ElvisCarReviews right? I always plan on my stang to be my last car, but something comes up & it doesn't make sense to keep it. Fingers crossed for luck that this is really my last car! 🤪
@@QueenMuffin5098 how is the 2015
@@solace4114 it's fun, but I'm not gonna lie - I miss the rumble & roar of the GT. I mostly drive in town, but I've taken a couple road trips. This car is fast, so thats fun. The interior is really nice & the shaker stereo is great. I made a few small appearance mods. I still love it.
$16,900 for my '17 EB Premium Convertible. Saw it on my toilet seat. Hit the dealership same day, locked it up. Surprising how effortlessly it leaves most traffic in the city. Even though modding is obviously an option, I'm happy with the power as is tbh. Previously had a new '99 V6 and '05 GT SCd.
Will Tuanaki nice! How much you pay fir insurance
@@theviking3112 $109. My wife and I have USAA, and we're older, so between a package deal, age, driving record being pretty good, and the EB... it's a good rate.
Will Tuanaki nice!!
Niceee, i think i’m going to buy a used 2019 EB Mustang convertible and i should have around 5k this september around my 18th bday to put a down payment on it! i’m excited asf lolll
Where did you find a deal like that?
Oh and Best I got was 31 mpg at highway speed and worst was 18mpg combined city and lead footing it.
I have gotten 36 mpg on pure highway. Typically I on pure highway I get 33 because I like to put the pedal down.
Very informative review, thank you sir! I'm still debating her with the GT tho! Hows the performance wise? Is it really close to the v8? What does it take to make it as fast or faster than the v8? Full exhaust, intakes and tune? Thanks million 👍
3yar1983 exhaust, tune, intake and maybe upgrade the turbo
I am all for the V8 in a Mustang, but at the moment I am seriously considering the EcoBoost which I would later upgrade to the 5.0. But from what I've seen so far Eco looks like it will be a pretty good purchase
Yes it’s a very good purchase
You won’t regret buying it
Hey, what the front piece ("grill") with the nice triangle LEDs? that looks fricking awesome!
It’s called RTR grill
@@ElvisCarReviews thank you very much! :)
You can buy the stage packages, which is much better than buying it in parts.
Nothing beats the power of the 5.0👍👍👍
Fair enough
great review!
Thanks 🙏
Just got my eco boost, yes it’s not a v8. But dam with the 6 speed manual its sure fun to drive. Love the eco boost sound.
joseph lofaso welcome to the family
Melanie Hale
He probably mean the turbo sound
Meant the turbo/engine sound, just enough to know you are alive. I had a hemi charger prior with thrush mufflers, so exhaust sound was too much. I have a manual trans with my mustang ecoboost, so the higher the revs the louder and sweeter the engine/ turbo sound. If you have an automatic trans, try using the paddle shifter to raise the rpms.
Bov + intake = best turbo sounds
Great Video
Thanks
Hey Elvis, I've gotten a good deal on a 2015 and plan on getting it. I know you've said if you can to avoid that year, but the car seems pretty good overall. Also, I don't plan on beating it up or doing any mods to it. Going to take care of it the best way I can. Just wanted to know your feedback, thanks!
If you’re not planning to do any mods that will be good.
If you can get a carfax history of the car it’s good as well.
The only mod I will advise you to get on the car of you ever wanted to get a mod will e a tune but by Ford a “Power pack” from Ford Performance
Mine is a 15 EB but I’m turning it back in next month. It was my first lease, first car I’ve gotten to pick, and I’ve loved it. As for bullying I’m more getting bullied into getting something else that’s “better” in snow. I test drive a wrx but I didn’t really like the interior. It felt kind of cheap next to the EB.
I never knew about the engine issue, but I babied mine. No mods since it’s a lease, but I’m always on point with oil changes and I have a full set of ws-80 snow tires. My only gripe with my car is how the seatbelt isn’t adjustable. I fill up my tank every two weeks, buuuuuut I may have slipped here. I didn’t use premium gas. 😐 Is there any harm to a car like this if you keep switching between premium and regular gas? Asking for -a friend- my next car.
Mikaela Fox
There’s no harm in switching between fuel regular or premium, you just get less performance with lower grade fuel.
Elvis Car Reviews Really good to know! Thank you so much!
Nice Video
A friend of mine can never be bullied. Both of them have a Ford Mustang GT 5.0, Camaro SS & Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye SRT. Thanks! Peace out!
Good for him
Thanks.....good info.
I own a Chevy spark and planning on getting a eco boost premium
Great video
I got my 2015 ecoboost from my brother he had it garage kept for 5 year. I got it with 600 miles. But you are scaring me with the eco boom.
Just make sure you respect the service intervals you’ll be good
I just recently bought my 2019 eco boost mustang the basic one , and yes I’ve been bullied by ppl like why didn’t you get the GT or the premium etc etc ugh
I want to buy one for my first car because I wouldn’t be able to afford the insurance on a GT. If someone bullies you lol say it’s 315hp with a 2.0 turbo
@@jacobpiatek9928 Just ask the GT owners why they didn't buy a GT350 or GT500. 😂
the funny thing is, the one who says that doesn't have a GT.
Love your accent
Thanks
Hey not sure if you're still checking out comments, but how has the reliability been on this car? I heard there's some frequent issues on the Ecoboost models especially, and stories of them being in the shop for month on end. How has reliability over ownership been for you?
Jakobs World Tour
I’ve owned mine since 2017, beside an accident I had, no major maintenance. Just regular oil change, tire rotation brakes changes etc.
It’s a reliable car. If you want to modify it make sure it’s done properly otherwise you run the risk of blowing it up. Overall it’s a very reliable vehicle
I just have one big big question. Dors the ecoboost need an oil catch can definetely????? What about the carbon problem of the direcr injection. Im talking about a standard one. No mods. Thanks!!!!!
omar quispe polanco
If your car is bone stock you don’t need a catch can, if you planning on modding it, it’s a good idea to get a catch can.
I love mustangs v6 or v8 but my concern is the mpg and I love to drive around not going to a track so to be honest a v6 for me. I own a fusion and I drive like a mad man my mpg is horrible city that’s on me. I modify my own vehicles so if i need to improve it I will.
i am from europe i got a bmw series 4 diesel i get 5 litres per 100 khm but at the same time i can make it racecar by simply pressing the sport button why ford wont do that?
I have a red 2016 ecoboost convertible with the 6 speed manual. I absolutely love my car, and it has all the power that I need. Only complaints I have are the premium gas, the large blind spot created by the a pillar, the seat coolers and warmers could be stronger, and the radio auto goes to FM when you turn the car on which is annoying. And yeah, I've been made fun of for it. Even got made fun of by a McDonalds employee who asked what engine it had. He said he drove a 3 speed auto car tho which is just pathetic. I assume it was the awful mismatched paint Cobalt with a ricer wing in the lot. If u drive an auto, Idc what u drive but I'd rather have my Mustang. I'd rather have an ecoboost manual over a Mach 1 auto. I would rather have an older v8 Fox Body manual tbh, but now that I have this I'm more than happy. Have to stress that the money I spend on fuel makes me wanna die. In conclusion, I LOVE MY MUSTANG!
Welcome to the Mustang family
for my first car at a young age i got a 2016 ecoboost mustang and i have no complaints, yeah i like the gt but i still prefer the one i got over a gt. I love my car very much.
Congratulations
would you recommend the 10 speed automatic or the 6 speed manual?
10 speed auto
I'm wondering if Ford puts plastic oil pans and drain plugs on the Ecoboost like they are doing on the Shelbys and Mustang GT's? I won't trade up my 2017 Mustang V-6 for that reason.
The drain plug on mine is metal.
I can report that pan and and plug are metal and very well made. Basically Ford looks at saving costs. Small EcoBoost engines up to 2.3L are made in Spain and they all use same oil pan and drain plugs in a universal manner to save costs. The plastic plugs and pan are likely to be the US made ones.
How do you have the gauges in the middle since only performance packages have that
It’s a performance pack
what about if i open engine PSV to atmosphere?
The insurance is also a lil cheaper on the ecoboost than it is for the GT.
A lot cheaper
Yeah I’m paying 235 a month for a 2020 eco boost (I’m 20) compared to over 350 for gt
Jeff Zucc is that American or Canadian dollars.
Jacob Piatek USD
@Jeff Zucc what insurance company did you go with and did you get full coverage I’m 21 and have pretty good credit
Do you know if the 2019 10-speed transmission is better than the 2018?
KSI had BirdDog
It was reworked a little bit, it shift smoother than the 18
@@ElvisCarReviews good to know, thank you 👍 my 06 GT shifts kinda rough. Is that normal @ 114k miles?
So in my country i have been looking at an 2016 Ecoboost Premium package, it still has valid warranty from the official dealer for ford here up until the end of next year and a full service history. It's at 35 000 miles and seems to be really well kept, thing is it seems a bit overpriced to me since the other once go around the prices that you mention , but this one comes at 25842$. I looked at the car and it seems in good condition and the guy has not done anything to it. Would you say it's worth getting? The car is German , but seems a bit more expensive since american imports are so much cheaper (well with the headache with dealing with the extra documents that is). Oh also it comes with 2 sets of tires.
ThickAc
I don’t know much about the German market value on mustangs but
If it comes with a warranty for a year that’s already a good thing.
Try to talk them down with the price a little and see if they will go down.
Also is it the premium version? Leather seats and stuff like that or it’s the base model?
@@ElvisCarReviews Leather seats with cooling/warming, i think the guy went all in on his features heh, but he wants to buy a gt. From looking at the price list from the dealer he got the full premium package.
ThickAc
Negotiate the price down and buy it if you can
Here in the USA fully loaded Mustang Ecoboost from 15 to 17 goes for about $18,000 to $22,000
Love my ecoboost
What’s the things you did to your EcoBoost to make it so fast??
Francisco Treto
Cold air intake, tune, cat back exhaust, down pipe, upgraded intercooler
Fuck the haters. Especially for non-American, mainly European countries, 310hp and this car overall is great. Furthermore, the European EcoBoost is 15000$ more expensive than the American Mustang GT.
Transitional years are a no no...I have the 2020 Premium HPP with Magne-ride & the handling package...awesome car
The V8 owners either don't understand the Ecoboost high performance package technology.... Or they have "other phallic issues" lol. ALL Mustangs rock so.... Get over your issues and celebrate the uniqueness of all different types of this amazing American muscle car. They are all as unique as their owners. From each year to each option..... Cobras, GT's Ecoboost, Bullitts and so forth.... I agree this guy, unite and stop dissing your fellow "Stangers" we are all a breed apart from other muscle car enthusiasts.
What hp and torque numbers are u seeing with your current setup
to the wheels or to the crank?
@@ElvisCarReviews both, glad to see you're back

Hi. I would like to ask if it´s worth to buy 2019 ecoboost mustang for around 21k dollars. It works that you buy car from the auction crashed, then ship it to my country, but during that shipping because its not being shipped as a car but its shipped as basically a spare part it loses factory waranty. here in my country guys just buy parts they need to fix it and then its fully drivable. I forgot to mention all the dmg is just cosmetics. Im just asking if you think its worth
If it’s damaged
$21,000 is a bit much, try to get it around $18k
Where are you shipping them to?

About the bullies: that sounds so teenagers in the school playground ridiculous it is not even funny. Those people should grow up and get a life and, maybe, graduate high school .
I agree with everything you said except for this car losing more value than the V8.
How did the ecoboost beat the v8 challenger???

It had a tune and exhaust, it’s lighter
all facts on here lol yea people do talk shit online but in person my echobeast gets losts of love i got my 2016 like 5 months ago only 13k miles, 21,000 price tag 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty dent ding and environmental i love it i coulda got a 2014 gt on carguru but i had to have the s550 body style when i fist test drove it i knew i had to have it but gas mpg mine does well i do tend to have my foot on the gas more but deriving street wise i normally get 19 to 24 then freeway 25 to 35 when im going like 80 90 i have got it up to 40s even 60s when im really on it wink wink lol
