    The reason why TLDR US didn't take off is because the competition in the American news sphere is much more fierce. Covering specific topics in American news is imo a better method because I don't think a whole channel dedicated to it can compete with some of the bigger, heavier hitters you were competing with. This video is a good example of a story TLDR can cover without being a fully dedicated channel

      One of the issues TLDR will face with American news is that the main audience for US news is obviously the US people. US people however are fed up with left leaning news outlets. Which although TLDR tries to be non biased they did get embroiled in a controversy a few years back with early fans for leaning left quite heavily. They have done better and only lean left slightly and their podcasts show the individual members are left leaning themselves.
      These facts and aspects in journalism just are not attractive to a people whose major news outlets are CNN, MSNBC and Fox. (Note fox has been removing its most right wing hosts to become more centrist).
      Left leaning US audience already is comfortable watching legacy media that aligns with themselves.
      Right leaning US audience less likely to watch left leaning new media.

    • @TheEmperorGulcasa
      @TheEmperorGulcasa Před 9 měsíci

      @@Blind_Smithy I would disagree that there is a lack of audience for left leaning content. Legacy media is heavily establishment biased and really not that popular at this point. Rather, it is the youtube algorithm that tends to heavily punish non establishment news sources that are not right wing. I've seen other independent left ish news channels get deprioritized, demonetized and generally heavily throttled in growth and exposure because of algorithm changes, policy against covering controversial topics and so on. A lot of right wing outlets avoid at least the financial problems by being funded by corporate backers in the background, whereas there is no corporates money for left wing independent news media.

    Unfortunately they've missed some key elements that may not be known internationally. In the classified documents case, the presiding judge, Eileen Canon, was appointed by Trump and has shown extreme deference to what she sees as his "special status" as a former president despite no such provisions being in law. Judges have sweeping powers that can favor a defendant, as pretty much anything that can get a defendant off the hook is not subject to appeal by prosecutors, nor even seriously affects the judge's lifetime appointment to the post. Second, a presidential pardon does not cover state crimes, i.e. he can't pardon himself for two out of the four cases. What being reelected could do is cause a conflict of the trials and sentences against interfering with the office of the President. Third, there is nearly nothing that keeps a convict from running for and being elected president except impeachment and removal by Congress or enacting the 14th Amendment adopted after the American civil war which prohibits holding office by seditionists or anyone who has given aid and comfort to seditionists unless 2/3 of congress votes to override (i.e. you have to be a well-liked seditionist so congress can say "meh, it's okay you tried to overthrow the government..."). Unfortunately, none of the charges filed are actual charges of sedition.

      6:57 find votes. Honestly it seems completely normal to ask his team to do this. It doesn’t mean do anything illegal. All these charges are so flimsy and clearly politically motivated. And laws so open that anyone could be prosecuted for anything. We know this, cops and the justice system abuse regular citizens too. So, it doesn’t matter if a judge has a bias. Everything else does too.
      What is tragic is the political payback that may come next time they persecute a democratic ex-president. But Trump is an outlier. His own party never liked him. So he is an easy target.

I'd suggest you watch the in-depth coverage of these charges on the Legal Eagle CZcams channel before you continue.
