    A paracord eyewear retainer is a great accessory for any pair of glasses, especially if you're going to be fishing, climbing, or participating in any other activity where it might be difficult to recover your eyewear if it falls off your face. This paracord project allows you to create a lanyard for any eyewear to ensure a safe and secure fit. Let your glasses hang around your neck or snug them up to your face with this DIY paracord sunglass strap.

    Thanks. I'm really bad at visualising and manipulating 3d objects like knots and I found that setting the speed of the video at 0,50 and 0,75 helped me a lot.

    Wow. OK. It took me a little more than two minutes. I’m getting old. Pushing 70. But I succeeded in my first Paracord project. Other than wrapping up Paracord so it’s not laying all over my floor. Thank you very much. I will check you all out again. Have a good day.

    as a person stuck with glasses for over 52 years (contacts worked for only about 3 years) I love this trick as I'm always losing those holders. now since I almost always have some cordage on me I'll have holders to make sure my coke bottles will stay where they need to. thanks for this and all your vids!
    stay safe keep warm have fun and whittle to keep your sanity.

    Thanks so much for this. My glasses handles have gotten wonky and I can't get them fixed until this COVID-19 lockdown is over. This is actually keeping it on my face for the first time in weeks. Now I can finally get back to working out without it falling off my face :D

    I'm an American living in the Philippines for 12 years now. I do alot of jungle camping, trekking and I even have my own uninhabited island off the coast of Zambales called Capones Island. With all I have learned and the miles of paracord I have I never thought of that. Can't find good glasses lanyards here. Boy do I feel like an idiot. The moment I saw this video I made them for my safety glasses, reading glasses and my regular glasses. Thanks sooooooo much!

      He did step 4 on the right side but didn’t show it Bc it’s the same thing he did on the left side for step 4. You just do step 4 on both sides.

      Same. I couldn't figure out what he did there. Even when I did that to both ends I ended up with a piece attached to my sunglasses and the second piece just knotted onto the middle of the first piece.

    I didn't have enough spare chord laying around...so I just made a taught-line hitch knot a little left of center of the mid-point .. This allows for a quick 2-hand adjustment with your left hand resting against your head just above your ear.

    • @pdgiddie
      @pdgiddie Před 6 lety +3

      This is true, but in fairness I think it's unlikely the knots would hold to the glasses under pressure, and the glasses themselves almost certainly won't support body weight without breaking.

  • @tonyhinrichs3565
    @tonyhinrichs3565 Před 2 lety

    Could you use an elastic cord instead of a paracord? I ask as I am sending this video to my wife who lives in a small rural village in the Province of Cotabato in the Philippines. She is going to the nearest city, Kidapawan City in that Province to get an eye exam and 2 new pairs of glasses, instead of the bifocal pair she had, which was blown off, in high wind, when she was riding on the back of her brother's motorbike. But I don't know if Gaisano Mall or Mega Mart sells paracord. Has anyone made one from an elastic cord. Thanks and God Bless.
