  • All religions point to three things: you ought to . . . you don't . . . you're toast. Religion is all about following the rules, but Jesus had something different in mind. He calls us to follow him, not the teachings of the church - follow first and obey later.

Jesus came to fulfill the Old Covenant because he was Jewish and it was prophesized, AND to implement a New Covenant for everyone -- Love one another as He loves us while we keep God as our #1 Priority.

That’s right, and what Jesus said, I didn’t come to avoid the law, but to fulfill. Something like that.

@@laurenmay2098 How did Jesus do that ? Paul understood. Jesus made a new Covenant but first Jesus had to fulfill the Covenant of Sinai. On the cross Jesus uttered these words "it is finished". By the death of Jesus the first covenant was fulfilled and by His resurrection the New Covenant began. You need to do a bit more study. We are under grace for all things because no man can be justified by the Law. Jesus is the door to heaven. The moment a perzon believes the Gospel they have the forgiveness of sins and eternal life , they are justified by grace through faith...THEN by obedience to Jesus they abide justified until they see Him face to face. Baptism of repentance then love God love your neighbour and love one another as he loves us. This replaces the Law. Against such there is no Law.

@@Exodus--bx3dd só then, you are saved, but you are going to do whatever and still go to heaven? We for sure will sin, but we are not to walk it around like sinners, that’s the grace, the grace of Jesus in us. I do not know much, but I do know it is impossible to please God by living only by grace, however, who abolished the law? The one that preserves us from destruction? Our morals and conduct do not come from the Qumran, or Buddha, but from the commandments. Anyways, pleasure to talk to you. In my country, we say it that we do most discuss it football, religion and politics. People will disagree all the time.

@@laurenmay2098 thanyou for your comment... I suggest you read again my comment... the death of Jesus abolished the Law for salvation and replaced it with grace. Those born again are changed into new creatures , children of God.. so the Law has been transferred from stone into our heart and minds... when I was saved I became aware that my behaviour was wrong, drinking beer drugs sex ... no one told me these things were wrong I was changed by Jesus my Lord... the joy that filled my heart knowing my sins were forgiven and peace that Jesus was in control... yes I still desired things God forbid but now I knew they were forbidden so not to gratify those desires.. this was before I even read the bible... that was 43 yrs ago... the wisdom of the Gospel teaches me that no matter how hard I try to be good , I will never satisfy God so I rely and rest in his grace for righteousness . That is the secret to peace and joy filled walk with God.. simply love Him by obedience not to e righteous but to show him I beleive.... love for the Lord grows as I know him and How deep and strong His faithfulness is for me. He said love others as He loves me... this is changing me deeper than trying to keep the Law to be righteous ever did.
I hope you are filled with his peace and love to...his grace is all you need to be more than a conqueror in this world.

He is a liar. 1 John 2:3-6 says: By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. 4If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him: 6Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked. -- Andy Stanley says THOU SHALT NOT OBEY THE 10 COMMANDMENTS and just says you can't be like Jesus.
