      I mean he can't even read the quotes or song titles correctly so 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ how you gonna show us all the text you're reading in every video and still read it wrong? Is he even editing his script or proof-viewing his videos? I'm not trying to be a dick but these videos seriously lack refinement and concise presentation of information. If you can't even read the song titles right I don't need your opinion on them. He read like 5 song titles wrong in the caretaker video and didn't edit it out while showing the correct song title on the screen. He obviously misreads a quote from a band member in this video saying "the king crimson" instead of "the crimson king." Little stuff like that is a real turn off in informative and analytical content like this.

    • @hihowrya370
      @hihowrya370 Před 4 lety

      @@voodoosleeper i get it, you’re trying to be honest and i appreciate that and there’s not a lot of honest people in this world anymore but, just be nice. you’re talking about not trying to be a dick but you sound like a dick. you’re criticizing Jake like you can do better or something.

    • @voodoosleeper
      @voodoosleeper Před 4 lety

      @@hihowrya370 I mean I can read a script so yeah I can and do do better. Reading a script is not difficult, re-recording a take when you make a mistake is not difficult, editing mistakes out is not difficult and and checking that your recordings match your script is not difficult. I'm sorry that doesn't seem "nice" to you. I don't really care. The mistakes this CZcamsr makes are consistent across all his videos. If you can't even read a script then you need to either do better or stop trying to create informative content. And people acting like this sort of messy poorly-made content is underrated, well, maybe if the content was well executed and properly presented it would be popular. Maybe in a few years this CZcamsr will be awesome at making videos but he's clearly still learning. But if everyone just coddles him and says what he's already doing is awesome they're doing him a disservice. Because it's not awesome. How are you going to consistently misread text you're also displaying in the video across almost every video you create? It's quite glaring when the narrator misreads text you're currently reading along to. And he leaves these mistakes in every video.
      Again, I can do better and I do do better. I'm a scriptwriter and video editor on three different channels. I've also done voice over work and when you misread the script you do another take. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I can understand him being protective of his digital music, since he has a successful thing going for awhile, and a lot artists now are getting destroyed by the cut they get via streaming.

    another amazing fact about that album cover that stood it apart from other albums: nowhere on the cover is the band's name mentioned. Crimson was virtually unknown, they release their first album....and they didn't even put their name on the cover. (well, the front of the cover, at any rate)
    that shows how strong that album art was/is; that it would grab record store customers attention by the art alone.

They are SO much more important than they ever get credit for, and I'm glad to see them getting love from new generations. For anyone interested, In the Wake of Poseidon and Lizard(Prince Rupert Awakes) are other legendary works worth checking out from them. Cheers everyone!

    When I was 23, I had health issues. I work in IT. I'm a huge fan of King Crimson. Epitaph is one of my favorite songs by any band.
    Which is why I got that painting tattooed on me. Just fit where I was at at the time.

    i own one of the original pressings from 1969, its warped beyond belief and there is a huge scratch through the last 8 minutes of moonchild but out of my 35 album, $1500+ collection, its my absolute favorite record, and my dad bought it FOR FUCKING $5. he went into our local record store looking specifically for that album since he knew how much i liked it and all the guy offered him was the sleeve since the vinyl itself was super fucked up but surprisingly when he dropped the needle it played perfectly other than the aforementioned moonchild section. i literally cried when i opened it up, its the coolest thing that ive ever owned in my entire life. an album that was written, recorded, and pressed onto vinyl 33 years before i was ever even born is sitting in the crate right next to albums that were released less than a year ago. i wouldnt part with that album for a million dollars. i owe robert fripp so much for finally putting the catalog onto spotify, this album is legitimately on par with the wall in my opinion. thank you robert fripp and friends for creating this masterpiece, and bringing me so much happiness over 50 years later.

    Bro, I just randomly stumbled upon this video after listening to Everywhere at the End of Time for like 2 hours, and you're background music and visuals are not doing me any favors when it comes to shaking this intractable dread hanging over me. So thanks for that.
    By the way, sick video. Love this album. Definitely listened to it because of the album art the first time. Keep on doing this jam. It really works.

    if you want to technical the band was a successor to Giles, Giles & Fripp with some of the songs already written (I Talk to the Wind was first recorded in July 1968), and the band's first incarnation was in late November 1968.

    Fripp is internationally known for both his brilliance as a guitarist and for his controlling nature; so it's no surprise he had the painting pulled from the offices and stored privately. Oh, and another album cover you should do is Roger Dean's Yes-Tales Of Topographic Oceans cover. Lots of gold to mine there.

And now I've watched this video too, even though I didn't know about King Crimson beforehand. Well I guess you've earned yourself a new subscriber. I really like the style of your video and also how you narrate them!

    68...I think. Nice vid. Back when I was in high school (about 88), I was working at a shop and had access to transfer paper, inks and a heat press, so I VERY laboriously copied and colored transfer paper and made a janky t shirt with "schitzoid" )album cover) on it. I was probably more taken, by the rear of the dust jacket with the sage (also featured in Wake of Poseidon if I remember correctly) and that hand sign he is showing. I have tried to ascertain over the years what that sign represents, to no avail.
