    Good looking mowers here! I have a 20" Hyundai 510SPE with a 196cc engine, electric start, and 4 speeds. It's a lovely machine. I use it at the school I work at and volunteer cutting a very wet orchard on the weekends. With a high lift blade it bags wet grass really well.

    My mowers are a 40 year old Flymo with a jlo 2 stroke engine, husqvarna and a weibang.
    Flymo is my favourite.

    Guys , for a review it would have been nice to see the underside and some details of the self propel , e.g. is it belt drive , prone to sticks jamming or not etc. Watching brand new mowers go over short lawn is not really much of a test to be honest . I do enjoy your channel so I hope you take my comments as constructive and not overly critical.

      Good point, we never looked underneath. Our bad 🤦🏻‍♂️ and we normally do, fairly standard under there with plastic gearbox’s and average blades 👍🏼

    I am on my second Honda Issy, on the first one the engine was great, go on forever but the deck was steel and rusted through in several places.The new one does seem to be powder coated so perhaps will last longer. Looks like these SGS have steel deck also. i had a Mountfield with a B and S engine once and it gave a lot of trouble.

    I really like that you also Test those entry level mowers. I mean these are great machines for a regular homeowner etc. I would prefer a Briggs engine over that Honda, but thats just my opinion on that.

    Worth noting that even Briggs & Stratton are terrible for spare parts since they went bankrupt during covid. Budget mowers are always best bought with a Loncin engine these days 👍

    This video illustrates very well why my other half prefers to work with me and the guys rather than other women in an office, you're laughing when you finish each day instead of pulling arrows out of your back.
    I looked up SGS just now and I can't believe how cheap their mowers are for something this good, it seems they do indeed sell battery powered stuff just not under the SGS name.
    Now comes the nitpicking...
    I don't like the color, blue is one of my favorite colors but I don't like the way the entire deck is covered like that. My opinion, they should use blue color on the mower but do it the way other manufacturers such as Honda do, as an addition to a nice, metallic silver or black deck.
    A simple analogy being a t-shirt with a grey torso and blue shoulder length sleeves, a flat color beside one which stands out looks much nicer.

      Fair comment, I was not so sure on the blue to start with but it has grown on me now.

      Yep, I've called um briggsanscrapum for years. They are bloody crap, bit like tecumseh. The silly diaphragm in the carb goes an it's fucked, even a new one doesn't seem to fix it. Honda or a loncin copy or kawasaki.

    • @MachineryNation
      @MachineryNation  Před měsícem

      Yeah Loncin is a great engine. But on a lot of budget mowers they are not Loncin they are really rubbish. Not all Chinese engines are Loncin. Also agree Briggs has fallen by the way side of late, but there are still a lot of fans out there who would only buy Briggs.

    • @noelcahill6707

      @@MachineryNation there is its just the name now do and the smaller briggs are all made in china you could fall into a trap buying anything now with out knowing your stuff

    • @michaelbamber4887
      @michaelbamber4887 Před měsícem

      @noelcahill6707 typical, but made in China doesn't mean its rubbish, quality control can sort that. Some daft things brigs did, like putting the tank an carb on the opposite side of the engine to the intake valve and using a pipe through the cylinder head area, so once you worked the engine, it overheats an the fuel evaporated out of it.
