Pues sí, hay muchos verbos comunes en español que tienen un significado diferente entre su versión normal o su versión reflexiva.
Hoy vamos a ver la diferencia entre ENCONTRAR y ENCONTRARSE.
Este es el segundo video de esta serie en donde te enseñaré los verbos más comunes en español que cambian su significado cuando los usamos como verbos reflexivos.

I think I must have watched this video ten times now. I finally got 100% on the quiz. I took a lot of time doing this waiting hours between viewings.
When I think of the verb "encontar" I always think of the first time I used it.
I have this old 1955 Cadillac that I am working on. I needed to get it registered and to do that I needed to find the Vin number. I was working with this beautiful young Latina who was bilingual. She worked at a vehicle registration company. She had grown up in California and is what would be called a heritage speaker because parents were imagrants.
When I cleaned off the grease covering the number I called her and said.
"Encontré el numero VIN". I found the VIN number.
I looked up the reflexive form of "encontrarse" in my online dictionary and it gave eight different definitions. A lot of information to retain. I will keep practicing this video every day this week and hopefully it will start to sink in.

Yes, “encontrarse” is found in many different contexts. The four I mentioned here are the most common ones.

ANTES de mirar la película, adivino que estar "descubrir la locación de cualquier cosa que busque" y "discubrirse la alma" (o quizás como esa) .... veamos... empezamos ahora.
Ahora, he mirado le pelí: Correcto par la primera perte y incorrecto por la segunda. Tenía B B A B A B (5/6). Sé hablar francés también _'trouver' y 'se trouver'_ son los mismos en francés con (por ejemplo) _Paris se trouve au nord de France_ (Paris finds itself in the north of France / Paris se encuentra al norte de Francía). Es diferente cuando se dice _me encontré £10 afuera de la tienda_ (no es reflexivo en francés _j'ai trouvé £10 devant le magasin / I found £10 outside the shop_ ) Interesante, Paula - gracius por la clase
