Seriously my all time favorite Transformers villain. I love how they continued the tradition of Megatron going crazy after a massive upgrade. Especially how he went from religious zealot quoting the Book of Primus to a paranoid anti-organic megalomaniac.
I like how the beast mode front legs integrate into the torso - the claws set into the chest piece - but it's a shame that the torso is so blocky in beast mode. Doesn't quite curve into the neck shape as it does a very sharp right angle..
It feels a little weird to see a Megatron in robot mode with his firing arm on the LEFT instead of the RIGHT. The figure is still great and the video, too!
I've come to terms with it, but man I wish that face were more cartoon accurate. Also, oof, that back plate in robot mode is pretty rough. Otherwise a fantastic figure. Great video! Always love your brilliant camera work. Even if I don't always understand or agree with your music choices lol
While I admire how they were able to condense that massive design into a smaller figure, while keeping most of it rather show accurate...the one complain that I have is how that dragon's chest piece is just dangling from Megatron's back in robot mode. Is there really no way to fold it further and closer to the body? Aside from that though, it's a really neat figure 😁.
I love how he looks, except his robot face. That’s it my only complaint. Like he should have the same face as his kingdom Dino mode, just grey-blue instead of purple lol. They got the horns and grills on each side of his cheeks right at least. It’s almost like they tried to combine beast megatron and G1 megatron’s face which was... a choice. Otherwise he’s so gorgeous.
@@AztecCroc I doubt that just because his CGI Robot Mode head in Beast Machines was the same model as it was in Beast Wars just coloured and textured slightly differently. His face was fairly iconic to those of us that watch.
@@AztecCroc perhaps so. All the beast wars, and that beast machines (RID) Megatron all have that goofy, toothy grin. I was surprised they brought it back because they’ve shied away from giving the faces/heads the aesthetics of the original toy faces and tried to more closely match the show in the Kingdom Line, and Tarantulas and Inferno in Legacy.

I am honestly not a huge fan of Transmetal 2 Megatron. The change from purple T-Rex to red dragon was too drastic a change. Also makes no sense. Purple T-Rex + Grey Pistol = Red Dragon?
@@mechanwhal6590 Yes, but he got this way by absorbing the spark of G1 Megatron. Again, how does that translate into a dragon? It's not even a real animal, unlike every other Beast Mode base.
@@buchiklop110 : a dragon is, more or less, "a giant lizard (T-Rex) that fires (gun)". Yeah, it only gets so far, but it's the closest you get, I guess. Also, dragons in the west are symbolic of "a great evil", so it kinda fits.

I don’t like the beast chest on the robot back, but it is still great.
Why? That's how its supposed to be. They could have made it fold up a bit better, I guess.

I think, though I can't find a good enough picture to compare, that the robot mode headsculpt is based on the Beast Machines version?

To be fair, he was a bronze T. Rex before being a dragon. Plus, this isn’t the same Megatron as the Decepticon - he’s a Predacon who took the name.
