In This Video Satyarth Nayak Talk About Once upon a time, the atrocities of demons had increased a lot. It had become difficult to do any religious work. The demons had created terror all over the earth. The demons wanted to establish their control over heaven also. Devraj Indra was the king of heaven at that time, he went to Lord Vishnu with all the gods of heaven. He prayed to Lord Vishnu. The gods said, “O Lord! Please free us from the wrath of demons.” Lord Vishnu knew that only Lord Shiva could solve this problem.
Lord Vishnu was a great devotee of Mahadev. Lord Vishnu decided to do penance to Shiva for the destruction of the demons. Lord Vishnu started doing penance for Lord Shiva on the snowy hills of the Himalayas. Lord Vishnu started chanting one thousand names of Lord Shiva. With each name he resolved to offer a lotus flower. At the same time, Lord Shiva thought of testing Lord Vishnu.
To test Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva made one of the thousand lotus flowers disappear. Vishnu ji was engrossed in penance, hence he did not know about this. Lord Vishnu would call out the name of Lord Shiva and offer a lotus flower. When it came to the last name, Vishnu ji saw that there was no lotus left. If the lotus was not offered, the penance and resolve would have been broken, hence Lord Vishnu offered one of his eyes instead of the lotus.
Lord Shiva became very pleased with this devotion of Lord Vishnu. He appeared before Sri Hari and asked for a boon. When Vishnu ji asked for Ajay Shastra to beat the demons, he gave Sudarshan Chakra to Vishnu ji, with which Vishnu ji beat the demons. In this way Lord Vishnu showed his devotion and received Sudarshan Chakra.
