    Hi Nick,
    Another amazing video again, I'm watching it from Stoney Cross in the New Forest, there is plenty of history here, from RAF/USAF Airfields, to Calshot where the Schnieder Trophy was raced in the 1920/30's.
    I have to say though it is truly amazing with each video, how much closer the finish is and now we are talking about months now, I've heard so many supporters from up and down the country looking forward to paying BMD a visit and thanks for such amazing videos and information about our new home

    Nick, thanks, although my comments were from quite a long time ago now, so they may have appeared 'late' and not newsworthy.
    If you want to try to show the floodlights, again, then the best way is to view them along the longest, shallowest trajectory, which means you should fly at one of the NW/NE/SE/SW corners and look diagonally across the stadium to see the top front edge of the walkway through the trusses. They are in groups of 3, generally along the East and West stands and groups of 4 or 5 along the South and North stands' walkways. You can actually see them from the South or North as well, if you look to the side and well behind the Giant Screens.

    Not sure if this has been asked by anyone before, but why are the see through panels on the east stand barrel cladding not uniform. There are four same size areas towards the south end and only three areas towards the north end which are not the same size. Might seem a trivial point but I would have thought this should have been a uniform pattern. Makes me think they must have put a few wrong cladding panels towards the north end instead of the see through ones. Apart from that, it looks brilliant and well done to LO'R for a fantastic and fascinating construction sequence.

    Awesome work as always, Nick. On the barrel cladding for the East and West stand, do you know why they have those patterned clearer looking sections? On the East, I can count 4 towards the NE end and 3 randomly spaced out ones towards the SE. However, on the West, there seems to be much more of them potentially running the full length.

    • @DuncTheBlue1878
      @DuncTheBlue1878 Před 16 dny +1

      They’re air exhaust vents. The number and location of each is linked to the extractor fans under the cladding from hospitality/kitchens. The west (main stand) has more extractor fans from e.g. more kitchens, so has more air exhaust vents compared to the east.

      Personally, I think the club made a big mistake not opting for 60,000 when you consider there are 34,000 Blues now on the season ticket waiting list. Apparently, the club commissioned a ‘specialist’ consultant to investigate the optimum capacity and the conclusion was around 50,000. There was a fear about empty seats. Two options for the team bus: on calm, sunny days the bus will drop the players off at the front of the west plaza terrace, between the steps and the water channel (middle entrance). On bad weather days, the bus will stop at the northern entrance to the tunnel under the west plaza terrace (close to the north west corner of the stadium).

    • @maccgordon8310
      @maccgordon8310 Před 16 dny

      My understanding from previous video comments is that the team buses will travel under the North stand overhang. This looks narrow from the drone footage but there's enough room for a 2 m wide personal pathway adjacent to the south stand and a 5 m wide vehicle pathway. For comparison, Queensway tunnel lanes are 9 feet wide (2.7 m). Kingsway tunnel lanes are 12 feet wide (3.6 m).

      @@DuncTheBlue1878 This will upset a few. That terrace should have gone to ground level with seats and safe standing. In fact, I cannot understand why there is no safe standing in the upper tier if they want to create a wall for the home end.

    • @DuncTheBlue1878
      @DuncTheBlue1878 Před 15 dny

      @@Tinhead777 Yeah, you’re right, it will upset a few. However, wheelchair users have every right to be at pitch level in the home end.
      Apparently, as part of the club’s many fan surveys, they calculated the number who want to stand throughout the entire game. This is why they decided to have the upper tier of the south stand and the entire north stand as standard seating, rather than rail seating. North east corner lower tier will have rail seating for the away fans (you probably know this).

    • @Tinhead777
      @Tinhead777 Před 14 dny

      @@DuncTheBlue1878 Is that a legal right? People have a right to easy access to designated areas of the stadium. There are also optimum viewing areas that should be selected and have been, but the home end will offer a lesser viewing experience.
      The home end should have been a solid wall of Blue, hostile and yet passionate; I have a sense that the opposition players taking corners are getting a free ride.
      Stats do not tell the whole story. However, there is no reason why those areas could not have been accommodated for safe standing and essentially future-proofing the stadium; it can be done in the future, at least, I hope so.
      This is my opinion concerning the home end of the stadium; I have chronic conditions that may ensure I can never visit the new stadium.
      Also, those areas would be the best option for me, so yer, having spent my time in the Street End, especially in the late 1970s/80s when we stood on the terraces, I would want the experience, but I am disappointed the South Stand is not what was promised.

      @@terryscrewloosesings 👍🏻 The fans that support a PL club 200+ miles from where they’re from are usually clueless. I bet the LFC fans in the south east don’t know about the horrific Heysel disaster.

      @@DuncTheBlue1878 probably not but cause I was a kid at the time I remember it vividly as I do the Hillsborough one I also remember the 1988 match QPR Vs Liverpool when Liverpool got beat by QPR 3-2 I cheered every goal against Liverpool 👍

    Re. the test events: I think it'd be nice for the women to have one of the test events personally, as it'll surely get a full house.
