I wrote wrongly before that Newton invented this device. I apologize to everyone. This device was invented in 1967 and was named Newton's Cradle in honor of Newton
It’s because of Newton’s third law of motion: every action has an equal and opposite reaction. So if you hit a ball against another ball the ball will come back with the same amount of force that you put on the first ball. So if you push four balls against one ball then 4 balls will go the other way with the same force. Hope this helps!

Newtons Cradle is such an amazing invention. Imagine how long it took him to invent. I genuinely am suprised that there were people out there inventing ways to make a phone work. A way to make a gun work. A way to play games off of a cd. You do realise even tho this seems like old tech to you, whoever invented them made a revolutionary discovery. Who thought to turn plastic, lights, metals and battery acid into something you can call your friends with.
It wasn't just some caveman who took a bunch of random stuff and made a phone. It was the results of uncountable previous inventions all coming together into something incredible
Very rarely is it just one ‘person’ but I get what you mean and it is amazing. With most inventions the idea comes first. For example ‘we want to communicate long distance.’ If you think about… it the first person to ever write a letter, or send a message long distance, actually contributed to the modern telephone in some way. They had the first idea that lead us there. Almost no discovery isn’t off the back of someone who thought of something before
That is the third law, which states "For every action there's a reaction" which if that ball is swinged, it collides with the other ball, exerting force which is action but the other ball exerts the force back which stops the first ball which is reaction and they will switch sides... Continuously... Both ways, the force is still the same.
Last few clips are conservention of energy and momentum. Basically if you swing two balls you have 2mv = p and mv2/2 = E, both need to stay the same and is only possible if the same amount of balls swing on other side.

Kinetic energy is transferred through the balls, through a linear mechanism, the balls maintain and reverse the impacts, because of Newtowns second and third law; conservation of energy and conservation of momentum, hence the name Newton's cradle. However due to the principal of entropy: energy's tendency to spread out at a high probability; the balls will eventually lose their movement completely. This is audibly explained by the sound made; being unused energy quickly converted into heat energy, as all things will be; also expalined by entropy.

Man physics really do respect equality
“when one force acts on another it gives a equal or opposite reaction”

Correct. Also, this is the conservation of energy and therefore the conservation of momentum. It is a closed system so the motion is perpetual.
The balls convert potential energy to kinectic energy than is converted to heat and sound energy
