I'm in love with my car (Roger Taylor) QUEEN (Live in Montreal, 1981)
We don’t recommend that song to new recruits, Grasshopper. People think it’s too weird and don’t give it a chance. It’s sad, but it's true, so we have to recommend falsetto compilations and such before the newbies can take on that level of the Queen experience.
Queen is Love, Queen is Life.
Grasshopper?!? ELL o ell
We all have and love it
@@jamie6506 yes his falsettos are just incredible. It's hard to drum ,try doing that while singing. His voice in I'm in love whit my car live at Montreal is soo f-ing good, best performance he did for the song.
I agree that he’s flipping incredible.
But the non-queenies tend to think his 'car song' is too weird.
Moral of the story, we’re throwing the coffee machine whether they like it or not.
everyone: ROGER TAYLOR
me, with tears in my eyes: y e s
@jCaesar i watched it, they're so great!
Yes.
check out his solo albums!
Love Roger Taylor!!!
This Won't be terribly popular but I always preferred Taylor to Mercury.
We all knew Roger Taylor and Phil Collins would be here.
Roger Taylor
Ringo. Just ringo
Can we all just agree we came here just because we have nothing better to do
Ringo Starr > Everyone else on the list
And Don Henley too
Freddie: In the lap of the god
Roger: AaaaAAAAaaaaaAhhhhhhhh
Galileo Galileo Galileo

Omg is a sibling of the fandom
Yess i love the Roger's AAAaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAaaaaa
Somebody to love: 🎸E5
When she said Roggie didn’t fade into the background of Queen, the video showed John Deacon,
Perpetually ignored,
Fading away into the smoke. F*ck.
I watched just to make sure Karen Carpenter and Roger Taylor made the list. I’m pretty sure everyone watching expected Phil Collins, so no surprise.
But Roggie and Karen should have been higher up. So now I'm mad anyway.
Lol right
I love Karen
I already expected Roger and Henley on the list. Phil Collins is always in this kind of top 10s so...
I was checking to make sure Roger made the list, and also Dave Clark. Yes, I was young in the 60's and loved the DC5
Could've used other songs for Roger. He kills it as Somebody to love, replaces David Bowie at under pressure live, not to talk about high falsettos in songs such as 'in the lap of the Gods' ,'39' and many others.
He sang in falsetto in Bohemian Rhapsody
.
@@afreakaboucher1316 he means on the live ones
Who else knew roger Taylor would but here
But I'm also surprised of the others like the first one😀😀
"roger is known for his high falsetto abilities"

if I go any higher only the dogs will hear me

Exactly what I thought!
Here's a better list:
#10: The Rev (Avenged Sevenfold)
#9: Karen Carpenter (The Carpenters)
#8: Brann Dailor (Mastodon)
#7: Albert Bouchard (Blue Öyster Cult)
#6: Phil Collins (Genesis)
#5: Peter Criss (KISS)
#4: Don Brewer (Grand Funk Railroad)
#3: Levon Helm (The Band)
#2: Don Henley (Eagles)
#1: Roger Taylor (Queen)
Honorable mentions:
Dave Clark (The Dave Clark Five)
Bill Ward (Black Sabbath)
Tyler Stewart (Barenaked Ladies)
Mickey Dolenz (The Monkees)
Mick Tucker (Sweet)
EDIT: Holy crap, 150 likes. This is a record for me
EDIT AGAIN: Please let me know if there are any more singing drummers I forgot to add. Also, I’m not sure if Mick Tucker sang lead a whole lot.
EDIT YET AGAIN: I accidentally listed the Rev twice. It has since been corrected.
David Nissim Roger Taylor is The best in The universe
David Nissim
Agreed
Mostly agree, except Ringo Starr is a damn good singing drummer, he deserves to be up there
1. Roger Taylor and Phil Collins
2 -10 everyone else. 🤩
Perfect
6:05 i think you mean.......ROGAH TAYLAH DRUMMAH OF QUEEN
the drummah and one of the singahs
A seventas and eightas dummah
Drummer Queen
IMHO the best drummer/singer on this list and for eternity was brother Levon! His drum chops were killer(if understated) but you could feel the soul, guts and feeling in every word he sang. R.I.P. Levon you wont be forgotten!
Couldn't agree more. Levon Helm should be #1 in this list. If The Band was around when MTV hit, Phil Collins would be MUCH further down this list.
And as Rolling Stone magazine said, “You don’t play the drums and sing lead vocals. Oh, except for Levon Helm!”
YESSSSSSSSSSS LEVON WILL ALWAYS BE NUMBER 1
Roger: (screaming like Brian's guitar wailing in Somebody To Love)
YEEEEEE!!
All the queen fans are coming to defend roger and make him one
Yas
That is something Roger and Freddie did very often.
Omg yes I originally thought it was a guitar until I listened to the isolated vocals
Look at the aftermath of the Bohemian Rhapsody film. So many comments about Roger Taylor.
I thought Roger was a fabulous vocalist and drummer WAY before the movie.
There always been heaps of comments on Queen. The aftermath of the movie is that people like you have finally learnt who he is.
@@Gracegalxc finally, I hate those "Look at these fan after watching the movie" guy like Roger is already an amazing singing drummer way before the movie.
@@Gracegalxc - So true. So many NEW fans were clueless before the movie. I was in my late 20's when Queen hit the scene. Roger was, as Freddie would say...DARLING!
Loved The Beatles and Ringo too. Saw both bands live and both were amazing. Queen had technology in favor for their live concerts, The Beatles didn't and couldn't even hear each other on stage!
Phil Collins was great live too.
Queen built on groups like The Beatles and The Beatles built on those who came before them. Glam and camp like Freddie perfected built on Elton John and David Bowie.
Queen and The Beatles were totally different and unique bands, two different styles, both creative and both great.
I have to laugh at the "reaction videos" ..."Wow dude, dope and no auto tune, playing instruments too!" Well, no sh!t. It's called talent. Where is the talent now?
@@susieq9801 Thank god the movie did that though. You're incredibly fortunate to have been around back then and see those legends in concert, but for a whole generation of people who weren't born then and weren't parented right, the movie was the wake up call. Better late than never, right?
Karen Carpenter #8?!?! With her "distinct" voice? She should have been much higher on the list.
john15008 lead sister
She had exceptional drumming chops, playing a more technical jazz style. (Even Buddy Rich was a fan) And she was blessed with a pure, effortless voice that was not just "distinctive", but unmatched.
The best singer I've ever heard..
Since the 70s people like to dismiss the Carpenters are merely a square pop duo...
Karen's 8th placement in this list proves that. Super underrated.
Yes, indeed, she should have been considerably higher on the list. In terms of the strength of both sides of her dual role, she was at least the equal of anyone else on this list. Man, that short clip of her soloing there - girl had CHOPS, seriously. And she was certainly one of the most gifted vocalists of her era, perhaps THE most gifted. What a tragic loss, hers was.
Roger is amazing and handsome
Double points

Me: Where the FUCK is Tré Cool
I love Sir Ringo but he definitely didn’t deserve to be above Roger on this list. He wasn’t very known for having a special voice. Rogers voice on the other hand was very unique and added something special to Queens sound
Completely agree, Roger should have been way up that list
The two are tied for me. I think Roger is the better singer, but Ringo's the better drummer.
Kayla Cohn I love Ringo but I don’t think he’s a better drummer than Roger
Kayla Cohn sadly Ringo as cool as he is is the worse drummer.
I love Ringo and the Beatles a lot, but yeah I think Roger should've been above him.
Karen Carpenter only nr8? What were you thinking? She has by far the best voice of this bunch, and is a solid drummer!
she could outdrum all of them. maybe im bias being a woman. too bad bonzo was scared to have a drum off with her. would love to see that. hey, i wonder if bonzo could sing
I love how we all thought of Roger Taylor immediately
Roger Taylor is my favourite by a mile. His vocals and drum skills are amazing .
Never I was so agreed
Queen is my favorite band. Roger is not my favorite drummer (John bonham is) but his voice is amazing and his drumming is AWESOME!!

Bill Ward from Black Sabbath and his solo albums is amazing. He sang the songs Ozzy didn't recorded in Never Say Die and his solo albums are amazing.
Pretty hard to disagree with this.
But damn I miss Karen Carpenter.
I can't even imagine how many gorgeous recordings we would have now. Seriously makes me choke up to talk about her.
Roger needs to be higher, at least in the top 3
I Know he deserves to be #2 or tied at #1 with Phil.
Wished roger Taylor was higher up on the list! He’s so creative and has a great voice!
"HoW ManY GaLilEos Do YoU wAnT?!?!?"
Phil was the right choice for #1. The man is a vastly talented musician's musician. It's so sad he can't play drums anymore. I grew up with him. Much love and respect for the great Phil Collins.
Michae Brown One of my favorite artists of all time.
Am glad to see that Karen Carpenter got recognized, her drumming abilities are often overlooked
Agreed! I saw Buddy Rich in concert in Kansas City, 1976. Blew my mind. And he was a big fan of Karen! Her technical ability and natural FEEL for percussion was incredible. Couple that with her unmatched singing ability! I still choke up talking about her.
IMO Karen’s singing compared to Phil’s is significantly better than Phil’s drumming compared to Karen’s.
I still say Don Henleys original opinion of her is a bad take.

Nobody gonna talk about Dave Grohl at Number 7? Man’s a living legend.
Right? Grohl deserved a better spot.
Dave Grohl is a shit singer though.
debatable.
The majority of Grohls singing is done with the foos so he’s not drumming
That's the biggest travesty on this list
Peter Rivera of Motown's band Rare Earth deserves a BIG mention!
Totally agree.
Oh my gosh,heck yes!!
Yeah Get Ready rocks amazing song he's brilliant
Roger Taylor deserved #1 imo
A guy that is technically not the lead singer of the band should be #1? Sorry, he is great but not #1. The top 3 deserved to be there. No questions
Camron Glenn he still sang
@@oliviapaul1981 thanks for informing me. I had no idea.... that was not my arguement. He is not the lead singer the ones deserving of top spit should be lead singers. Not backup singers
Camron Glenn he was a lead singer in his own band and he had his own music as the lead in some queen music
Well he’s great but he’s not #1. Phil Collins really deserves that #1
Levon Helm singing the Night They Drove Old Dixie Down always makes me weep. The man could sing a story.
Levon Helm also played the half blind Master Firearm Tech in the movie THE SHOOTER with Mark Wahlberg
Agreed.
Personally, I would put Karen Carpenter MUCH higher(lower) on the list...TOP 5, easy!!!
Agreed. She should be much higher on this list.
Simply one of the purest, most beautiful voices ever. And a drummer of such technical accomplishments and feel that even the great Buddy Rich was a fan!
@@rogerevansen2882 Absolutely!!!🖒
Since the 70s, people like to dismiss the Carpenters as a mere square pop duo...
Karen's 8th placement in this list proves the huge snob to their talents. Super underrated.
Karen Carpenter was the most talented of the lot.
She's pretty good but in my opinion I think Roger is the best
@Frenchy yea he's good
Phil Collins blows them all put of the water.
@@karllansing7927 There might have been better drummers....but none of these people could touch Karen Carpenter's voice. It was unmatched. A gift from the Gods.
i think she was the most solid. and drummed the most complex grooves while singing
This video showed me that, not only was Karen Carpenter a drummer, but an INCREDIBLE drummer. Holy crap, she smokes!
Yeah I always assumed she sucked..........Wrong
KC was the drummer of the year in 1975, she started as a jazz drummer which most of the great ones do, as far as her singing, the best.
Buddy Rich gave KC praise so she definitely played very well.
As someone who grew up back in the day I can tell you that not only was Karen Carpenter insanely talented as a drummer, she also was the only one who sang lead on all The Carpenters songs. No-one else sang their songs in studio or when performing as the band was her and her brother Richard (who wrote many of their songs and was their composer). That's quite a feat and likely quite physically draining.
She must have saved her drumming talent for use elsewhere, certainly not the Carpenters.
Rodger Taylor at only #5? Really?
He should be number 1
He should AT LEAST in the top 3
i started crying!😢 he should have been #1
The 1flym Roger

Glad that Karen Carpenter was recognized for her drumming which is often overlooked because of her outstanding vocals. Shout out to Deen Castronovo of Journey who IMHO is still under-utilized and under-appreciated.

I'm here for Roger but i became a fan a year before BohRha movie was released.
That’s hilarious because queen was the first band I new and a week after the movie came out a guy played bohemian rapacity on piano and some girl is like your not as good as Freddie murcury butchering his name but saying it in the proud scenes like saying she bows queen
Many fine choices on the list, but over the last 20 years my #1 is still Levon Helm.
Clicked this video to make sure Roger Taylor was here. I was not disappointed.
David Somers was searching for this comment
Dude right? But know Collins waa first.
Hahaha, exactly! Me too ;-)

Roger Taylor is easily the best 'singing drummer' in rock history. A far better drummer technically than Phil Collins, almost as good vocally, and most importantly nobody could combine drumming and lead vocals to anything like the proficiency of Roger. Vocals - awesome, Drumming - awesome. Both at the same time. On numerous songs.
Roger should be higher.. he was one of the few that could vocally keep up with Freddie's range & he's an amazing drummer and songwriter.. definitely should be higher.. also Ringo at 4? WTF? list seems screwy/. both of them should be ranked higher
Although Roger stands no chance against Bonham, his singing skills are incredible for a backup singer
Roger,el mejor de todos por lejos!!! Lo suyo es mucho más esforzado ya que canta con más energía y potencia que los otros, eso sí que es difícil. Roger el único 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪❤❤❤❤❤❤
Karen Carpenter was an outstanding drummer. Buddy Rich was even impressed with her drumming, and he normally didn’t like non-jazz drummers.

Don Henley and Levon Helm .. Legends
Kelly Keagy of Night Ranger should have been on this list.
And although the songs he sang with Journey were originally sang by Steve Perry, Drummer Dean Castronovo is by far the most impressive I have ever seen drumming and singing at the same time. I'd love to see him put an original solo album out sometime.
Thanks. Didn't think anyone remembered Kelly. Sure, he wasn't Karen Carpenter, however, he does deserve to be mentioned.
Agree with Kelly Keagy. Everyone knows Jack Blades is the most noted member of Night Ranger, but no one knows about Kelly.
@@76carmelodd since Kelly wrote and sang lead on their biggest hit
How can you possibly forget the Greatest Of All Time himself, Tommy Lee from Mötley Crüe?! That man is a legend! His solos and his show will blow your mind! He deserves to be #1 because he is that epic, and after you watch even one video of him you will never forget it! Tommy Lee has surely been an inspiration for many great drummers everywhere.
In fact, he is so great, that there should be an entire video dedicated to his Top 10 best drum solos of all time, but I know why there isn't. It's because it is impossible to choose between all of Mr. Lee's legendary performances.
Nevertheless, he deserves to be included (preferably at #1) on this list.
He can also sing. He has a very nice deep voice. Listen to his mind-blowing solo albums TOMMYLAND and NEVER A DULL MOMENT. No offense to the other drummers because they are all great, but none of them can touch the talent that is Mr. Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe!!!
ROGER NUMBER 5!?!?!?
Liddy :P Roger Taylor is The best no in The world but in The universe
Hold my beer.
Just where he should be. No higher and no lower
Ahem y isn’t he #1??
I would give him #1 because of his falsetto.
Roger Taylor and Phil Collins are clearly the two best Singer - drummers ever! Roger had an amazing solo career too. I would’ve put Phil and Roger as the top 2 my personal opinion. 🤩
yes, although I would have liked Roger further up, even #1 I agree...Collins had a huge singing career, whilst Taylor didn't 'establish' himself as a singer until he went solo...but you are equally correct, his solo albums are fantastic, he's an excellent singer and song-writer, if not '1 (as I think Collins for his huge solo repertoire alone should have this), he should have been EASILY 2, and well above Ringo 'blisters on my fingers' starr.
Karen Carpenter is by far the best singer on this list. To even put Roger on the same list is insanity. You are biased from watching a movie. Roger is definitely good, but Karen, Don Henley (who should have been #1) and Phil Collins are in a different league. Roger was not even the lead vocalist - granted he was backing quite possibly the greatest singer of all time. Roger is where he should be - maybe even a bit higher than he should be.
Go listen to some Rare Earth, Peter Rivera had a more powerful voice than anyone on this list, other than Levon Helm, who was my favorite on this list
Don henley is #1 in my book
Caitlin Frawley don henley had a better solo career than both, he may not be the better drummer but he was the better singer. u guys are just fangirling/fanboying far too much
Most Famous: Phil Collins
Greatest: Levin Helm
Completely Missed: Don Brewer
Novice researcher at best ! E Pluribus Funk ! !
When Levon Helm can play jazz fusion, wake me up. Or big band. Or progressive rock. The most famous is the best drummer on this list, and the most versatile.
Not to mention Peter Rivera of Rare Earth
Did you say my name?
Most Overrated: Roger Taylor
Definitely Don Brewer should be in the top 5. One of the most underrated musicians ever. Along with Gil Moore from Triumph.
Totally dropped the ball by not adding the Rev in the Top 5. He was not only a pivotal part of A7X's vocals, but also a main lyricist. As well as one of the best drummers my generation has seen. An all around musician.
Yeah I was hoping for him to be in the top 10 as well as Jen Ledger, but at least they got HMs, which are better than not being on here
When it comes to music they always pick musicians before the 20th century came. But Rev should have been somewhere in the top ten.
Shawn lund yeah that's usually right
The guy had a hell of a voice, and could sing while not missing a beat on drums. I'm pissed he wasn't on the list. He deserves more than just a honorable mention.
Just listen to A Little Piece of Heaven or Critical Acclaim
Okay- given the criteria, I agree that Phil Collins comes out at Number One. But to say "He's the genius behind Genesis" is kind of misleading. If you mean he's the genius drummer positioned behind Genesis onstage, okay- but Genesis was always a collective band. One could argue that keyboardist Tony Banks contributed the most towards creating their sound, but all the way back to before Collins was even in the band, they nearly always shared credit. "There must be some misunderstanding." Best to all.
Phil Collins has said before that he just did as told.
Peter Gabriel was the genius behind Genesis. They lost a lot of their technicality when he left
@@davidnissim589 phil collins a better front man than Gabriel for Genesis. If that is the case why did Genesis get more popular after Gabriel left.

Roger Taylor must be doing good For Durran Durran if he's above Roger Meadows Taylor in your list :)
I only saw the top of the list and I thought you wanted Roger at #10 and I was like WHY
funny
so you're implying that Don Henley, the co-lead vocalist of the best selling band of all time and Phil Collins, one of the best drummers of all time, is not as good as Taylor, who undoubtedly had a great voice but very average drumming skills?
like don't get me wrong. i love Queen, one of my favorite bands. but as much as i love them, roger is not as a good drummer as collins
Karen Carpenter had a great pop voice, very under-rated because of the light-weight view of her music.
I'm into rock/metal, but Karen Carpenter had an amazingly beautiful voice; and the first time I learned she drummed too, I was hooked!
+Tominscv she did sing great very mutch underated
They'll never be anything alike Phil Collins. True legend, and inspiration
To anyone claiming Roger Taylor deserved one, he was a backup singer, even when he did sing. Henley was always harmonizing or singing. Collins was the lead singer. Both had incredible solo careers as well.
Brann Dailor of Mastodon should have been Number 1, and he doesn't even get a mention??? WatchMojo, take a listen to Oblivion, Dry Bone Valley, or Ember City and I guarantee you'll want to redo this list. Please.
He shouldn't be #1 lol. I think he should've been an honorable mention. Anyway, he's awful live.
Definitely missing as an honorable mention, and technically more challenging than any of the people on this list. But indeed, he consistently screws up live.
THANK YOU!
he's an amazing drummer, but really awful live, just unbearable
Yeah, maybe he should've cracked the Top 10, but he ain't touching Phil Collins.
“Roger Taylor...” FINALLY!! Only reason I clicked on was to see this man❤️❤️

Its so friggin talented to play drums, keep timing & Sing really well!
Pretty boy Roger Taylor💕
F*ckn LOVE Levon Helm, RIP my friend
How can you forget Don Brewer of Grand Funk!? He rocked!
Why do people always remember Phil from the 80s!!! He was amazing in the 70s!!
"He's THEE genius behind Genesis"......Sorry but I beg to differ. There have been several geniuses behind Genesis going as far back as Anthony Philipps.Peter Gabriel,Steve Hackett,Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford along with Phil ALL contributed greatly to the song writing and compositions for the band.I think that because Phil's solo career began to take off at the same time that Genesis became more popular in the 80's most people assumed that the band was just a vehicle for Phil, and it was all just a one man show. They assumed the other guys were merely his back up performers but this is definitely not the case.
They had 2 good records with him on Vocals, Trick of the tail, and Wind and Wuthering. Everything after that was garbage. Of course that's when they became wildly popular...
Yes,even Phil himself is on record saying how much the other members contributed to the band.
@@HansJaussmann Nah. And Then There Were Three and Duke are amazing records.
Dude without Phil Genesis just isn't the same. He was Genesis
He wasn't even a member when the band got together. Historically, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford would "be" Genesis, because they've been in every lineup from "From Genesis to Revelation" to "Calling All Stations". But Genesis has always been a conglomerate of talented musicians, so their music changed when Collins joined, it changed when Gabriel left, it changed when Hackett left (in my opinion the worst loss of them all), and it changed when Collins left. Every lineup must be heard in its own right, otherwise you're doing the artists wrong. If in doubt, listen to Banks' and Rutherford's solo projects and hear how much of their personal sound is also part of Genesis' music. And how much of the sound is still left on "Calling All Stations". The progressive back bone of Genesis kept visible underneath the layers of pop.
But why is Roger Taylor higher than Ringo? I love the Beatles and Ringo, but Roger Taylor, in my opinion, can not only sing better, he has a better vocal range AND can play drums, guitar and bass! Obviously not at the same time lol
Irrelevant Commenter ringo is a fantastic musician, but the beat in most of the Beatles is a fairly simple one, with a much smaller kit. Roger works with a heavy metal drum kit often so big it's hard to see him behind it all.
@@Fitzroyfallz Er....yes. Gene Simmons worked in bigger boots than McCartney ever wore ... but does that make him a better bassist? lol
Seriously now, Roger Taylor seems to be far and away a better drummer, singer and even all-round performer than Ringo. AND that's from a Beatles fan of 5 decades standing - who doesn't really know a lot of the Queen repertoire.
Any love for Stewart Copeland out there?
Surprised to not even see an honorable mention for him.
Deen Castronovo of Journey, Dead Daisies, Revolution Saints.. most underrated musician of all times!
I was about to comment this! Deen is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
I have long admired artists who have this particular talent because it's difficult for me to grasp how the motion of their bodies does not diminish the vocal 👏🏻👏🏻
thats fucking hard to sing while drumming...these people are great..salute
Kelly Keagy of Night Ranger should be on this list.
Instead of the Monkee? Hell yeah. Sister Christian still popular.
Good call. I don't know how I forget him.
Dennis Wilson from The Beach Boys, Don Brewer from Grand Funk Railroad, Brann Dailor from Mastodon, and Brandon Saller from Atreyu are also great singing drummers
Dennis Wilson from The Beach Boys was a great singer.
True True
He was barely a drummer though.
Dennis wasn`t a good drummer . And is not me saying , he told me a million times . My good friend RIP
