- Hello. Today, I shared with you 50-60 years old ideas that I learned from my grandmother. I made buttons and flowers with knitting threads and a pencil. If you do not have a suitable color button, you can make buttons in the colors you want with knitting yarn. I made the flower I made as a brooch on my cardigan. I hope you like both ideas.

My grandma taught me to knit one finger knitting first. Then onto French knitting using an old cotton reel as they were wood then.6 little nails around top then once you mastered that you knew how to knit.i done same for my girls and my son.grandchildren and now great grandchildren.sadly as I was one of 7 my mother didn't keep any cotton reels for me.i managed to get 3 one each for my kids they still have today.now of course you have a fancy doll that works the same.but it's not the same.watching you I'm thinking of my grandma.my mum and good times when grandmas taught us everything.thank you for sharing 🇬🇧

I love it when grandparents teach us invaluable and practical things that we can use throughout our lives and better still we can teach our own children and future generations.
When I was 4 years old, my grandmother put a needle and thread in my hands, asked me if I would thread it for her. That was the wonderful day I found my passion for needlework, and absolutely fell in love with my grandma.

It's nice to see an art come back..loved the flower and how that was done.Too bad this generation and generations to come ,don't learn these soon to become lost. My mom taught me alot and I still learn things,as you showed the flower, I hope to try that . Thanks for Sharing. Merry Christmas.
