A beauty from the past, I believe that the Big Band Legend Guy Lombardo of the Royale Canadians won the Detroit Gold Cup in this boat.
Those old Allison and Merlin powered boats have so much more class then the new jet boats.
Elegance is my word.

Guy had a "commuter" behind his place in Freeport LI..it too was called Tempo.he had his own railway to his shed..remember that from my age of 6..

I miss the days of the thunder boats. The modern turbine boats whistling by are not the same. There should be a piston powered unlimited hydroplane class. Seafair is not the same without them.

The boat never run on all cylinders so what part do you think sounded so good..when it was only running on half the motor....when I did finally run on all cylinders it stalled out....so explain again how that sounded good at all...only when he revved it up did start to run half way right..???
