    I'd always prefer to fit sealant, even though you're not supposed to. Unless you're confident the hole and plug is within tolerance

      I did put the thinnest of a layer of sealer on the plug but going in so tight it probably all came off too . Either way it’s now water tight and ready for the summer . I used water mixed with green anti freeze ( yes I know it should be the vw g12 pink coolant ) you hardly have an idea what ratio the green coolant should be mixed to

      Nope it was so tight in there. But the golf is ready to go again .
