    The most common question I hear about installing these is about the use of some thread locker compound. Everyone is always confused on what color loctite or if rocksett instead should be used or etc. I wish you would of covered that in this new updated install video to quell all future speculation on that topic.

    • @ToastbackWhale
      @ToastbackWhale Před rokem +1

      In a video on this topic that they made while still OSS, they recommended red loctite. For what it’s worth.

    • @HUXWRX
      @HUXWRX  Před rokem +12

      We would recommend red loctite over rocksett but they are not required with our muzzle devices which why we didn't cover it. We can note talking about that in a future video.

      Check to see if it is pinned and welded. If it is pinned and welded then there isn't much you can do. If it is NOT pinned and welded then get yourself a a pot of water and boil the old muzzle device (and muzzle end of your barrel) for 5-10 minutes. The heat helps a little bit but really what is happening is that your old muzzle device, if installed properly, is rocksett on. Rocksett is water soluble. After boiling, slap your upper into a fixture and torque that old muzzle device off. IMPORTANT: when done with that process, clean your rifle. Lubricate it immediately. Hit the threads with acetone or brake parts cleaner. You don't want the lubrication on your threads when you install the new muzzle device.

    • @JenkinsStevenD
      @JenkinsStevenD Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@Wasd3rHeat doesn't work on rocksett. Heat works on loctite. If the factory is using loctite on the muzzle device then you need to stop buying from that company.

      @zacksasscer3500 Před 2 měsíci

      @@JenkinsStevenD If it's pinned and welded (and you're not a complete Nancy who's never used an angle grinder, dye grinder, or a drill press), find the weld, carefully grind (or drill) it out, remove the pin, and unscrew the existing muzzle device. ...it's not brain surgery. There are several videos on YT that show the process, and if you're feeling lucky once you've removed the old and installed the new, bust out the tig welder and tack in a new pin (that you can make with a tig electrode). ...or if you are incompetent, just take it to a gunsmith. He'll have it done in an hour.

    Does your flash hider fit directly on tapered barrels like the Sig Spear LT has, or do I need to use a taper adapter? Since the FH doesn't need to be timed like a brake or comp I figured it might be okay without the adapter, but not 100% sure about the mating surface when torqued down.
