  • On this episode of Office Hour Sessions I riff about making wood trusses in Revit...

    Really interesting approach on the coping! Used to do it one by one, which usually resulted in getting frustrated and going back to modeling in place with a generic family! 😅 Great to know, thanks!

    Sir,how to make coping distance as 0?

  • @kanders94
    @kanders94 Před 8 měsíci +3

    Go metric, then Coping distance can be set to "0".

      Well then…. Power to the metric people!

    the question regarding the plate moving, it possible maybe if you lock the reference plane of the plate to the vertical framing members while in group mode.

      Unfortunately, that still doesn't hold... you need your families to host to a level and not an object/vertical plane for groups to NOT break...usually.

    Sorta framing related question, would love to know if you have an answer. What is the best way to get total plywood sheets needed for roof sheathing? I can’t find an answer anywhere. Something more plug and play rather than creating a bunch of different formulas in a schedule. Thanks!

      You can try modeling them manually with things like curtain panels/walls.... but, I would look into plugins for Revit made specifically for what you are trying to do (like MWF Pro Wood, and AGACAD wood framing tools).

      @@TheRevitKid thanks for the suggestion! I work for a National Homebuilder so modeling them out won’t work so well with all the different plans we have. But I will look into MWF!!

    We can't get truss members to "unpin". What are we missing?

      Can you not select the webs at all? If not, check the "Select Pinned Elements" on/off toggle on the bottom right....
