I just saw this for the first time today 11/25/22 and as a former US Army Survival/Escape/Evasion Trainer, I really appreciate your brevity. You get to the point and don't talk about yourself like you are some survival god and it's all about you. Excellent training thanks.
Survial God...😊..wouldn't that be Jesus??
Yep 10:50
Early 1980s I had a pilot survival knife. One day, I was the RSO for a night TOW missile live fire range. Next morning, while cleaning up the range, I wrapped about 100 feet of tow wire around the handle and secured it with 100MPH tape. I later exchanged the tape for an inner tube and had that knife for another 25 years. I used the wire a couple times to set up snares but never caught anything. The wire was so fine it was hard to work with.
"you can't over char anything"
A hugely undervalued piece of knowledge.
👌 Cheers Andrew.
Yeah I actually did wonder about that. Good to know.
You consistently put out the best survival content on CZcams IMO. Well done as always.
Ordering room service is my number 1 survival skill.
Your videos are always the best💯 I do receive a notification each time you post a new video.. We'll have regrets for things we did not participate in...Investment should always be on any creative man's heart for success in life.
Nice content mate! So happy to announce that I have gained financial freedom by investing in digital currency. Now I know that multi creation of various streams of income is the ideal Principle for financial sustainability.
I wanted to invest more in crypto, but the fluctuations in crypto value discouraged me into dumping.
@@mackea4651 Crypto trading is the best investment anyone could get into. As it could make you rich in a blink of an eye, trading with an expert is the only key to successful trading
@@leither-truth4414 Exactly which is why I will always recommend Expert Arjun B Jagat to all Newbies/greenhorn interested in making bigger profits on crypto. He is reliable and profitable
I have heard a lot about investments with Mr Arjun B Jagat and how good is he, please how safe are the profits?
Excellent, brother - from a former SERE instructor. RLTW, DOL. Subbed
Thank you sir!
Excellent TTPs for individual survival today Andrew! The “Yeti” is a new one for me, and an excellent idea for field expedient camouflage… that’s going in my tool kit! The Aviation Survival Knife was one of my first fixed knives on my LBE (read, ALICE LC-2 gear) waaay back in the day until I upgraded. Still have a fondness of that model, maybe it’s nostalgia! Keep up the Fire!
upgraded to what?
@@NikosKatsikanis oh, various phases… Ka-Bar, Glock Field Knife, and finally when they told us no more fixed blades except for bayonets then folders became a thing before multi-tools… the Gerber Gator was a popular folding knife. Tough and not so expensive to cry about it if you lost it… maybe upgrade was a poor choice in wording… I never had the money to invest in say something like a Randall custom knife.
@@johnkline5930 I bought a Gerber Gator on active duty too, in combat training at the PX. Upgraded to a Buck full tang fixed blade when my Gerber Gator hinge went to peices on me. I still have that Buck as a keepsake in my footlocker, twenty years later. As a Marine I have several Kabar knives in my collection now (WW2, etc) but I never carried a Kabar on active duty, or even remember a time in the woods or rivers afterwards with a Kabar. There's so much better choices now. If you can only have a bayonet then I highly recommend one of the new USMC bayonets that are half Kabar/half bayonet
@@johnkline5930 thx
Laughs hard... I STILL have my ALICE large rucksack with frame. It does take me back... waaay back.
Andrew , another Outstanding video!! Again you show your skill as a Instructor in showing us the military skill's used by our armed forces in survival and bushcraft! The survival knife is a great tool , have seen many through the years in surplus stores and with veterans that kept theirs . Keep the videos going Andrew !!!
Thanks for all the “ free chicken” ! Didn’t realize the military poncho had so many uses. 🇺🇸👍
My favorite 10 tips in 10 minutes! Awesome information! Thanks for sharing!
Love this series. It's like watching all our FM drawings realized and demonstrated. Thank you for posting these...nothing like Mil-craft on a Sunday. Look forward to every week.
Andrew, congrats on your newly awarded diplomas! This nation and your subscribers are so very fortunate to get to learn from a great teacher and Ranger like yourself.
You truly put in A LOT of work, blood and sweat to earn those diplomas.
May God continue to shed His grace on you, your family and rekindle a love for true freedom in all of us.
I was not aware of Andrew getting a new diploma Do you have more information about this? Thank you
Thanks to Shawn Kelly giving you a shout-out. I have enjoyed your show every sence he started sharing your Channel. I have got something from every show. Not that I'm going to be able to put anything in practice; I'm a quadriplegic. We used to camp all the time. When my children were elementary-aged we would camp the whole summer.
Thanks for all the great tips, keep them coming. Being non military, I enjoy your take on things and appreciate your teachings. Be well and stay safe. ✌️🇨🇦
I knew a Ranger back in 1979 who only carried the Pilot Knife you used here. He said it was his favorite because “it isn’t expensive, it can be bought just about anywhere, and it’s as tough as nails”.
I’ve had many of them (still have two). I give them to friends and family who are just starting out in the wilderness/survival arena.
I carried one when I was in the Army back in 1971. I still have it and it’s as good as the day I received it as a birthday gift. Had to replace the sheath though. Original one got bad case of jungle rot.
@@CrimsonRaven51 Find yourself a USN dive knife sheath from a Mk3 Mod O dive knife. Fits my AFSK perfectly, will never rot and it gives spring retention not just a snap
I have a KaBar and sheath I bought when I was 13, I’m 66 now and it is still my favorite knife to bring camping/hunting/fishing. I’ll give it to my grandson one day.
I used the the 499 aircrew survival knife since 1079, owned many, my go to knife thru the 80’s. This is a tough knife, I never abused it but used as intended. I’ve had it on the river on canoe trips and in the Everglades, on hikes snd camping. I’m going to get it back out and put it back in service. Great video Andrew.
Excellent tips for the day, thank you Andrew. My cousin brought me some military issued tools, he brought me the 498 Ontario knife & a rucksack, He's airborne infantry, he's been in the army for 3 and a half years, he's almost to sergeant. he says that he wants to keep reenlisting until he is at least 40, I truly thank all military personal and veteran's my grandfather served in the Kearon war and Vietnam my uncle fought in Vietnam and was shot. Thank you for these helpful tips
All Gave Some and Some Gave All...82nd Airborne... Now retired the general says thank you for your service 🐕🦺 sorry son you can't run over the Old hills anymore ahhhhhh....
Love the YETI. Always appreciate the cool presentation of historical items and new found uses of such equipment.
More great subject matter from the best survival channel on the internet.
Keep ‘em coming Andrew.
There’s not much to say except Thank you! Great work sir!
Your video about the survival knife was informative. In 1960 I received a Navy pilot’s knife from my uncle who was a Commander. I had it in Cambodia in 1971 and on numerous patrols and camping trips. You are quite correct in saying that there are better options now but this knife has gotten me out of several scrapes and has earned its place on my belt. My dad borrowed it on a fishing trip and was about to be caught in a storm. They had broken a shear pin on their boat and the only spares were oversized. He used the saw blade to file down the shear pin and got back before the storm. I still take the knife out on hikes and remember my dad. Thanks for the video.
Well done. Right to the point, not talking us to death. Good info.
Best narration on any survival video. Love this channel.
No.1 Survival Rule - ALWAYS take Andrew O. with you, wherever you go!
These are really great!! Love when you use a diverse selection of gear and show everyone the reason for variety and also a way to see alternatives. Thank you for all the videos though!
Very positive and instuctional. Reminds me of my Grandfather's teachings.

Thanks for the reminder to treat rain water caught in the poncho, Birds and bats, leave trace in the trees. Airmans Kbar, Wife still uses her dads ww2 around the house. ThNKS AGAIN FOR THE TIP'S AND TRICKS.
Good point.
That firestarter made out of the flashlight, wires, and steel wool was a thing of excellence. Great idea and another tool for the toolbox of survival knowledge!
This has got to be the best video on survival I have ever watched!
Please keep em coming!!
Good tips as always. These 10 minute videos are perfect when you just have a few minutes.
Congratulations on finding a format that works for the channel and for you.
As for the orienteering portion that could be a whole ten minute video by itself.
Great tips.
God Bless and God Speed
That's what's up!
Thanks Andrew!

So Infantry is the best.
Rangers truly lead the way, right on, many thank's for the easy to understand information.

Got dang' excellent video flick! I'd forgotten about the steel wool fire trick. Mahalo!
Excellent video! You put out some of the best survival content anywhere! Thanks for sharing!
I was going to ask you last week ,why you were creating all that smoke… I thought I had it all figured out… it was to get rid of the bugs!!! With it being a silent video, well, I just didn’t know…
Now I feel so incredibly foolish…
Thank you for explaining that it was for signaling…
I guess I still have A Lot to learn…
Indeed…☺️
As always, just know I appreciate all you do…
And I pray for you and your viewers 🙏🏻🥰

Outstanding. Love the yeti idea. That one was new for me. Thanks.
Thanks Andrew that was outstanding. Really appreciate all your efforts
Pastor Joe Fox sent me here and now I know why - EXCELLENT STUFF - Thank You Very Much.
I agree sometimes old school is best...and considering the way things are going...we soon might have to go back to old school just to survive...some will not...but I know I will...already have numerous skills in place and working on more thanks to you and your channel 😉 thanks again for the great content!!!
I was a 15T1f in hawaii, that knife was turned in and we got the newer version back in 2006. I preferred the one you're using over the new issue one for hammering.. I have a couple of the old ones and have been using them for bushcraft/ field training. Good tool for the price
Excellent tips Ty for sharing…
Man, I love this series. I have learned so much. You are on to something here. You do all the services a solid. Marine Corps survival kit. As a Marine, we do research and test stuff a little better than the Army, because we are broke. That was one of the many jobs I had in the Corps. Just look at the disaster of the Army ACU utility uniform. Anyway, great job and information you are providing. Thanks.
I’ve always loved your videos but these are the best. Well done!!
As a former german bundeswehr soldier , I like your survival and bushcraft tips !
Straight , direct and no Hollywood shows !
😉
I lived on Garlsted for a few months with the Bundeswehr, did the Schützenschnur with them!
Bought the Ontario US Air Survival knife as a kid in an Army Surplus store. Now it's a beloved part of my Search and Rescue gear. Great knife with a great sheath.

As usual excellent information. Thanks Andrew
Outstanding carry on , you really give clear explanations and demonstrations I appreciate all you do
If you're in a real evade and escape situation, make sure you don't leave freshly cut sapling stumps sticking way up. Cut them as close to the ground as possible and maybe even cover it with a piece of moss, or something else from that immediate area that looks natural.
Excellent! Always love your videos. Keep up the good work.
I never fail to learn something new from these videos, thank you 👍
I like your videos they are straight to the point. Almost makes you want to say sir yes sir. First time seeing the yeti I could have used that turkey hunting in the middle of a fresh clear-cut.
Air Force survival knife still rocks. Saw on the back is supposed to be good on magnesium bars for shavings.
Very helpful. Thank you.
Excellent, well done and keep them coming brother..... thank you
Just a ton of good information that is well presented.
