No, if your tv supports hdmi arc or earc you can use it with any tv brand remote, if your tv dont have hdmi arc/earc you can still use hdmi connection for sound but you must use sony soundbar remote instead and if you use optical connection you then must use sony soundbar remote too, I hope this helps :)
I bought this home theather and i feel the subwoofer is sounding off beat with a little delay, i think its because its bluetooth connected. Any way i can fix this? Hope you can help.
You would need to buy an external FM tuner (that also has a digital optical audio out connection) and hook it up to the sound bar. It does not have a radio built into the sound bar
the different producers of TV vs soundbar shd not be a problem, the only question s whether your TV has Bluetooth built-in. If yes, then you shd be able to connect this soundbar of course.

I have an older Samsung TV and just bought the sound bar. It paired with no issues. It’s a good sound but I wish I could make it sound a bit clearer.
Sony bass is not deep that's why I hate sony. It's feels like cheap bass.. better I will buy JBL 2.1 DEEP BASS
