    I got an RF treatment in a medispa last year. I so wish I researched it before I went there. I was just told it was a skin tightening treatment. Fat loss was never mentioned. About 1-2 weeks after the treatment, I noticed my cheeks were deflating, not tightening! My face got softer, not tighter. Very upsetting to say the least. And I agree, you need to go to a medical professional. Not a spa! I’ve spent more money now trying to fix this mishap with fillers. They helped a bit, but I miss my old face. Ladies, please do your research before you get this treatment. I wish I did. Very expensive mistake that I regret immensely. Btw, I love your videos. You’re adorable and love your accent! Thank you for putting out such great information. I wish I found your channel before I foolishly rushed in to get this procedure. Don’t fall for their great sales pitch. That’s what got me! Half off sale! My cheeks slid half way down to my jawline. My $2000 treatment gave me jowls! Was not the look I was going for!! Do your research!

    I completely lost all the fat in my middle neck using Ultherapy (4 times, once under Anastasia in a surgery to face and neck) not knowing that instead of tightening which is why I did it each time but doing the opposite and ultimately having now a creepy neck with loose skin because of the major fat loss that occurred. My neck actually looks worse starting at 50 than my 75 yr old mother's. I now have to get a neck lift & was told by 2 surgeons telling me the neck surgery probably won't last more than a year or so because of the unusually loose skin. These same surgeons outright admitted that they stopped using Ultherapy and other devices like it in their office because of the potential negative results and fat loss. And, I'm 112 pounds, with a firm body and face, even jaws. So I know it's the Ultherapy. I was told my whole life I looked 15 yrs younger than my age, getting carded up until early 50's. But it stopped after Ultherapy a few times and my neck is the only thing that gives my age away. Stay away from it, it depletes your fat!!!

      People also need to know that eye lash growth serums are also attributed to fat loss in the Orbital area! I learned this from Dr. Rajani's CZcams channel. And what's crazy, is that I DON'T hear this from other influencers. It's the prostaglandins that is doing it. Thank God I could never afford to buy it for any kind of regular basis, or I'd be in the same boat of fat loss around the eyes.
      I did however find a company called "For Chic's" that has a natural approach for eye lash & eyebrow regrowth. Also, avoid castor oil for eyelash & eyebrow regrowth; Dr. Rajani say's that that has natural prostaglandins in it too!

    Hi Clare, thanks so much for sharing this interview. I enjoyed it. Question: has this put you off using the Evenskyn Venus around the eye area? Would you now hesitate to recommend it? Was thinking of purchasing and they have an offer on recently but now I'm not so sure. Thanks!

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi Val. The Venus is designed for use around the eyes and I still use it frequently to deal with morning puffiness. I mentioned in the review that I hadn’t noticed skin tightening with it and that remains the case. It’s great for helping shift eye bags and puffiness but I wouldn’t recommend for an eye lift. Hope that helps!
      Basically it’s a gentle heat and vibration so I don’t think there’s a significant fat loss risk there. It’s not RF.

I generally don't suffer from puffiness in the morning, however it depends on how good I've been with diet/late nights/snacking so it does happen on occasion 🙂 I still might get it, as it is not RF and the red light might help with a few fine lines in that area. What I know, the right temp of rf no more than 40, -safe. Like rf microneedling. Also, its just a max 4-6 treatments. Hifu is not safe. Lifting, tightening-yes, but later- you will need injections, ...
    Constantly tripolar rf- not good, monopolar- safiest, but not strong enough. Need 10-12 weekly. After that break at least 6-8 month. Honestly after 50 , monooolar rf will give you a little progress for the short time. But you won't lose your fat. Ultrasound for face- safe for lower face ones a two weeks. I never go on upper face.

My question is when I step out of the box of skincare anyaging and step into physical therapeutic devices of RF and laser it’s so much less expensive ! I have a regular ultrasonic facial device (NOT HIFU, it doesn't have the highly focused vibrations that HIFU does)- it is supposed to help with collagen repair, slight lifting, and products to penetrate. I wonder if this will do the same thing re:fat loss? Either way, I will be taking a very conservative approach to only use it once a week, and stick to LED and microneedling that I know don't affect the fat layer as much.

    Thank you for this video. I was going to order the Evenskyn devices but after hearing the doctor say it DOES affect volume of the face.....I won't. At 67, my face has already lost volume. I was hoping that RF would be an answer for skin tightening but it apparently is not. I already use the Omnilux mask every morning and have seen very good results in texture and increased volume of my facial area which I am assuming is due to increased collagen production. Believe me, you may not like your full face now but in 15 years you will really miss it!

    I believe Fat loss from RF & ultrasound is not permanent, and can come back with time. A good example is Former super model Linda Evangelista who’s all over social media about her horrible & adverse side effect from device fat loss. SHe had Cool sculpt ( fat freeze) at a reputable medical office to get rid of fat from her face and body. Not only did the fat come back, but it multiplied leaving her looking a lot heavier than what she started with. She wouldn’t leave home for a long time because she felt ashamed of how she looked. I guess that means that device fat loss does come back with time. It is not permanent.
    Red light skin therapy masks or hand held devices are a good treatment before the micro current face lifting. It warms up and prepares the muscles before tightening and lifting. However, if one has melasma or dark pigmentation.. Red light therapy can make it worse.

      I don’t have any experience of the HIFU mini but, as with other RF or ultrasound devices, I would use it sparingly and - as Dr Westreich suggests - avoid areas where you can’t afford to lose fat, particularly around the eyes and forehead. I use my Lumo fortnightly for just a few minutes, slowly moving it along and focussing on my jowls.

    Lol!!!! People need to use common sense with this. Number one- When listening to any "expert" always remember the old adage- Follow the money!!! He's a famous plastic surgeon. He makes the biggest part of his income performing plastic surgeries, not doing non surgical face treatments. He is naturally going to do what is best for him to make the most money. Which means that he will scare people away from a treatment that costs very little and is now available for home use. I have had the Lumo for 2 weeks and have used it almost every other day. I am 70 and was a smoker, sun bather when I was younger, and ate the usual crappy American food. I have lots of wrinkles and loose facial skin with not much fat. Part of that is also due to the fact that I have dentures and that makes your lower face cave in and wrinkle. I am very pleased with the results so far. My cheeks and middle face have now plumped up and the part where my nasal folds have fallen are no longer as noticable. Hmmmm. My upper cheeks were skinny before.... but have plumped up now. I do not believe that the heat of the instrument is enough to melt the fat. I think that's a deliberate falsehood. Think about all the times you lay out in the Sun and how hot you get. I'm sure the heat goes deeper than a half inch down into your body. How many of us have lost fat from sunbathing????? If all of this were true, women would be heating up their bodies to get rid of their fat. Common sense, people. Just because someone is a famous expert, don't think they won't lie to keep their money coming in!!!!

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  Před 2 lety +4

      To be fair he says RF is the most effective skin tightening treatment out there and he personally uses it on his clients so he isn’t trying to scare anyone off. I also use and rate the Lumo and the risk of fat loss with an at-home device will be low but cannot be ignored. It needs to be used cautiously and I have covered that in other videos.
      I’ve spoken to the makers of the Lumo and it should be used on one of the lowest settings above the cheekbones
      Heat from the sun will not penetrate to the deeper layers of your skin in the way RF or Ultherapy is designed to.
      Fat loss from ultrasound treatments is a widely reported issue.

      I can attest that this PS is 1000% correct. Radio frequency/heat DEFINITELY does and WILL melt fat cells! I found that out the hard way. They used the machine above the danger zone (upper cheeks) and my once high cheek bones are now mid-high and my lower cheeks are now newly formed jowls. Do your research! People that have gotten this done by inexperienced non-medically trained providers now unfortunately have to get facelifts to fix these horrible botched jobs. Trust me, if this happened to your face, you’d believe it!! Be thankful it didn’t ☹️

    Would the fat loss be permanent?

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  Před 2 lety

      I believe with RF the risk would be melting the fat rather than killing the fat cells so the fat could build up again over time. On areas with very little fat (above the cheekbones) it would be harder to replace than say under the chin, if that makes sense. That’s why it’s safer to use RF on areas where a small amount of fat loss is not a big problem.
