    As previously stated you definitely have a straight to the point, clear as a bell, non waffle way of educating and keeping your audience captivated and interested... much appreciated...

    The moment you started speaking and explaining in an every day sort of way, I had to hit follow before you even said any information. Finally someone I can understand! Lol

    Thanks I needed this, it is frustrating understanding that the liability can be higher than the loss for the stake with the general betting sites.

    I've been doing matched betting for a few days. I've started out with a £100 budget split across different exchanges and bookmakers. The most annoying thing so far is that I don't always have enough liability in the exchange when starting out. It shouldn't be an issue soon enough as I profit, but its a bit annoying for now.

      This is the problem I’m having. I don’t want to put more money into my account. Luckily some of the free bets don’t have to be all used at once, so I’m doing lots of little free bets based on how much money I’ve got in the exchange. It’s taking longer, but it is what it is lol

    If you have any questions about liability (when matched betting), feel free to ask me here in the comments section 🤓

      Hi, great video btw. So if I lay a £25 bet at 6.8 with smarkets (for example), and it shows me a liability of £1449, if my lay bet fails then do I pay the other bettor £1449 or just my £25 stake money?

    • @TheFrugalife
      @TheFrugalife  Před 3 lety

      @@joetotale6354 Hi Neil,
      So with a £25 lay stake, lay odds of 6.8, your liability should = £145 (not £1449)
      If the lay bet wins, you’ll profit £25, if the lay bet loses you’ll lose £145.
      When placing a lay bet, it’s like you’re becoming the bookmaker and you’re ACCEPTING a £25 back bet (from someone else, hoping for the opposite to happen)
      Hope that helps 👍🏽

    What if I layed a bet and the liability was £300. How much money would need to be available or in the market to make this bet safe. Thanks for the video 👍

    • @TheFrugalife
      @TheFrugalife  Před 3 lety

      Hi Ben,
      If the liability for a particular lay bet was £300, you would need at least £300 in your betting exchange account (e.g. Smarkets), to place that lay bet.
      It’s not safe or unsafe, it’s just a matter of having enough cash in your account, to cover the bet, incase your liability gets taken. I hope that helps 👍🏽

    So can you lose the full amount of liability of the betting exchange??
    Kind regards

    • @TheFrugalife
      @TheFrugalife  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Josh.
      Yes, but that's completely normal. Because when matched betting we have two bets FOR & AGAINST the same thing...
      If our LAY bet loses (we lose our liability on our lay bet), but it doesn't matter, because our BACK bet would win. So we would win approximately the same amount, at the bookmaker 😊

    So when I lay a bet on the exchange is the liability taken from my balance and then reimbursed if the lay bet wins?

    • @TheFrugalife
      @TheFrugalife  Před 3 lety +2

      Exactly!
      The exchange will take the liability from your account, just incase your back bet wins (lay bet loses).
      If your back bet loses (lay bet wins), you’ll receive your liability & the lay stake on top 👍🏽

      @@TheFrugalife lol I got confused about this and asked if they had already taken the money and if it would be returned if I won, and betfair said money hadn't been taken out. I don't know if they understood me. So I quit the bet and got my money back, but lost 20 quid that I had bet on a bookie for a matched bet (back) lol

  • @polyzoispolyzoidis5891

    In my country , smarkets , betfair etc are prohibbited. Any suggestions?

    Hi. If a jockey is thrown does your lay bet still count? They didn't win so...? Just wondered thanks.

    • @TheFrugalife
      @TheFrugalife  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, I’d imagine that to be the case. I know bets can be voided, for numerous reasons.
      But if they’re thrown mid-race, then that’s a loss (and a lay bet win).
