You messed me up for about 2 minutes, hahahaha. And also, no, they typically do NOT caulk the AC units, only using the foam seal they come with. Everything else on the roof gets self-leveling lap sealant all around.

So you unplug the top unit from the controls and that just comes off so there's only one wire that comes down and obviously your thermostat wire too but the other wires that you said you were going to cut so you knew where they went back together If you're using the same bottom part and not changing that but only the top half why would you need to cut those wires? Sorry if I missed something Thanks!

Good video but people please watch videos on installing a mini split heat pump with ac on rv's. I have one myself I will post a video of how I installed it. I travel as an industrial electrician and pull my 2015 4 seasons 40' Heartland 5th wheel with a front bedroom and rear living room. It came with a single overhead loud ac unit placed in the rear so very little air got to the front via duct work plus the gas heat is not the most efficient form of heat nor could it keep it warm in sub zero temps, I even installed a infrared fireplace which helped but now I don't even use the gas heat or even use skirting like a lot of people do in cold climates. The unit produces heat in temps below 18° it's a 120v 16 seer unit that covers 700sq ft. It's so quiet and efficient that my tv is enjoyable to watch now.I bought it new on eBay for $450 complete with precharged lines. I got help and with your info on removal of my old unit we removed it, We cut the hole 6" on each side and nstalled a nice framed in residential flush mount sky light which also has a sliding blackout blind and it can be shut with a 3' wooden long dowel because my ceiling is so tall The skylight is awesome at night to watch the lightening and stars!

We didnt want to risk a failure away from home since we where gone for 6 months.

Hard to say, Im not really an RV tech. Did you try to call tech support for Dometic and have them troubleshoot with you?

Dang it. Wrong video. This video is replacing a RV ac. Not installing one... Huge difference.

I have to comment. I’ve never commented on a DIY video before but I have to. Y’all! We just removed the exact same AC and installed the EXACT SAME AC as y’all did in this video. Every single thing in this video was helpful! THANK YOU!
