Captain Morgan pouring and serving rum for his prisoners. That's the most British thing ever. Fighting a war is not an excuse for forgetting one's manners towards their "guests".
Tee with a cloud of milk and some scones would have been even Britisher.
@@angrydoggy9170 I raise you a gin and tonic

Y'know I pride myself on being a good host so I'm obliged to offer you a beer - but I'm so darn mad it's gonna be mostly head!'

I’ll raise you one mor red and e with the Original name of the drink. Gin, and Quinine. Since the British used the Quinine to battle Malaria in Asia. They did the most British thing possible and added their Gin to it to make the Medication taste better
Could you cover Korean War battles like Inchon, Chosin, or the general Chinese counter-offensive? Everybody always unjustly forgets about that war.
Here Here!! My grandfather fought in both WW2, and the Korean War. It was a brutal war with 50 some thousand casualties, I believe. Around the same as the.whole Vietnam war, which was much longer
what are you talking about? The Korean War is all what the media talks about these days with all the tension between US and China.
Italy always fascinates me with its history in the first half of the 20th century. This is another one of those moments
How about this one for an interesting Italian story? czcams.com/video/99WWDhKFyok/video.html
Thank you for writing this Arnaldo, and to Mr. Whistler for presenting it... of course. It made me think that I know so little of Italian naval operations during WWII. That Sevastopol raid sounds amazing, would enjoy seeing an episode on that, while I do research of my own on it. XD
I love your work Arnaldo, and the lesser told Italian stories you produce. The CasCrim episode on White Uno is one of my favourites of all Simon's videos. Keep them coming and I'll keep watching them!
Thank you for the kind words and for the encouragement, I am glad to hear you are enjoying ‘my’ Italian stories. If you liked the White Uno Gang video, check out my other Cas Crim about the Kidnapping of General Dozier! About the Sevastopol raid, actually it wasn’t that exciting … due to poor visibility in the Black Sea the 10th MAS was able to sink only one vessel, a small troop carrier if I remember correctly. But I would encourage you to search more about Durand de la Penne, the guy who sank the Valiant: pretty exciting life even before and after Alexandria!
Very interesting video! Suggestion: a video on the Navajo Talkers in WWII? I’ve heard about them, but would like to know more. Excellent job Simon and team 😊👏🏻💯🙌🏻
Navajo "Code Talkers"?
similar to the Indians (not native Americans) and the Maori (could be one of the other passific islands in the Royal Navy I believe
I think covering lesser known Japanese kamakaze weopans like the shinyo motorboat , Kaiten torpedo and the MXY-7 Ohka Anti -ship missile would be an interesting video.
The Ohka (cherry blossom) was a fascinating weapon, basically a human guided anti ship missile. The US called it the Baka (fool).
That was another excellent episode Warographics Team. Definitely my favourite channel from Simon's ensemble.
An interesting story you can look into is the one of the Greek destroyer Adrias which sailed from the greek island of Leros to the port of Alexandria in Egypt with a completely missing bow!
Also the longest siege in history of the Cretan capital city Candia (now called Heraklion) by the Turks from 1648 to 1669. That's a whooping 21 years!
Love all your stuff Simon, exactly as you do it! Thank you for countless hours of entertainment!
Would love to see a video about "Churchill's Secret Warriors". It's a great book and Anders Lassen is an absolute badass
The Panerai dive watch? Unnoticed! Thanks again .

I love you’re informative shows. Texas
A great wartime tale. You should do the St Nazaire raid.
Absolutely!
Suggestion: The Navajo Code Talkers.
The video of yours recommended after this is something I'm not interested in. HOW DARE YOU! How dare you create content not tailored to me specifically!!
Love you, keep it up!!

We made an entire LIVE deep analysis of the Taranto raid and of its real consequences: czcams.com/video/N8LPB3DS3pg/video.html&ab_channel=ItalianMilitaryArchives
Need a video on the Italian resistance 👍
make a video about the battle of pisagua, it was the first amphibious attack in modern history!
Could you do one on the elite Marine Raiders battalions in the pacific theater? They were the special forces unit of the US Marines in ww2.
I'd love to see a video about Operation Marita. The Greeks held their own against the Italian invasion and it took both them and the Germans to pull it off
the Greek were not alone against the Italians
@@mirkonavarra1517 they weren't. But in terms of fighting strength, they fielded 450k and the commonwealth provided 62k soldiers. So, yes they weren't alone but the numbers were far higher on their end
@@punksoab nothing to take off from the greek but the RAF was a huge help. What is crazy to me is British propaganda at that time describing Greek like hero and Italian like coward. If you have heros in one side you can not have coward in the other
@@mirkonavarra1517 yea thats valid. Italy didn't have cowards in the military, they had idiots in the brass. Same issue they suffered in the First World War
Just as I was watching the video and Simon got to the bit when the Italians saw the british BB, the HMS Queen Elizabeth, I was just finishing a match in my own Queen Elizabeth :)
Is it possible to add subtitles to these videos (including form your other channels)? The auto-captions miss a lot of names and sometimes mistranslate Simon's accent...
I'd love to see a video of the Battle off Samar (part of the Battle of Leyte Gulf) during the Pacific campaign of WWII. Desperate naval battle where rinky dink destroyers attack the (literal) largest battleship in world history.
0:53 that neck of his sure can stretch
In Taranto the traitors removed the torpedo nets that where protecting the battle ships. The Japanese never attacked Pearl Harbor.
December 19, 1941: Italian commando-type frogmen infiltrate the Port of Alexandria to find that a key target, an aircraft carrier, was not in port.
Japan reacts to the news: "That seems oddly familiar."

US special forces raids in Korea during the Korean War would be an awesome subject. Probably difficult to gather information for though.
If only the Italians knew how much oil they were standing on in Libya. Just 17 years to early. Maybe if they spent more time looking for oil, and less time on Egypt.
They knew it but they didn't have the technology to get it from so deep. Only the US had it at those time
The 1943 Singapore raid needs doing, depicted in The Highest Honour 1982.
I have to point out that you used the wrong "Symbol" for the X° M.A.S. The one with the skull and the rose was adopted by the Infantry Division "X flotilla M.A.S." which sided with Mussolini in the period 1943-1945 (Italian Social Republic). The X° flotilla M.A.S. of the Italian Navy (Regia Marina) which is the unit you described in the video, did not have any official symbol or coat of arms. We are talking of two separate and very different X° M.A.S.

Gibraltar is not and was not in Southern Spain.
I want to hear the story of the Spanish-Russo double agent, The Queen of Hearts.
You may find it in this old Geographics, covering Gibraltar during WWI and WWII: czcams.com/video/X_Iviba1UNw/video.html
Hello Simon. Can you please do a video about the United Nations? I would love to see it. Anyone else agree?
And NATO.
0:50 . Ok, so, sorta stupid question...did he think that looked good? I've seen Mussolini in that clip a few dozen times in my life and...is that him trying to look like this cool, powerful, intellectual leader and dictator? What kind of image is he trying to broadcast looking down over his people like a 5 year old who just got put "in charge" of lining up the class for lunch. What kind of buffoon is this man that he thought that THAT was an image that needed to be immortalized for all time?
He was parroting a mafia boss during that particular speech. Considering how much he hated the mafia and worked to eradicate it, kinda ironic that they always show that clip
@@andreabianchi6156 He merely substituted his own Fascist mafia to the previous one.
@@gs7828 I agree but I was just explaining the context

Definitely need to cover the Battle of Fredericksburg. One of the key battles of the US War Between the States; this battle had a significant moment of courage, heroism, and compassion when Sergeant, later 2nd Lt. Richard Rowland Kirkland of the CSA brought water to wounded Federals despite major risks to his person.
I don't think the writers on this channel are reading comments : try to ask Kevin Jennings on *Decoding the Unkwown* or Arnaldo Teodorani on *The Casual Criminalist*
They are the ones who are the most actives with viewers...
@Dank 🍻🚬
It wasn't that vital. If anything, all it did was make Bobby more arrogant, with his subsequent (and incredibly costly*) victory at Chancellorsville making him think he was invincible--only to get his ass kicked at Gettysburg. I also find it odd that you ignore how the rebels nearly lost thanks to the efforts of southern-born Union General George Thomas, whose defensive methods were working and likely would have led to victory had Burnside not been so inept.
And War Between the States? No need to get all fancy. It was a southern rebellion, in response to their failure to win an election they had tried to rig against folks who wanted to take away their slaves, or at least prevent them from expanding their "peculiar institution" beyond its current borders, which would have inevitably led to slavery being voted out of existence at some point.
* He lost a fifth of his men there, including Stonewall Jackson, and it accomplished little to nothing strategically.
@@ignitionfrn2223 eh. For this one, I just like pasting it to see if it is indeed something that *could* be covered. I think the topic itself is worthy of coverage, (just like the Battle of Ramadi, or El Alamein) as this battle was full of many “firsts” at least for Federal forces.
Then again, I’m sure if I had started this on the side of Union Captain John G.B Adams, and mentioned his contributions (none so merciful as Sergeant Rowland mind you) then the prevailing sentiment would’ve skyrocketed this comment to new heights.
Also, I’ve been chastised enough on the other channels so I only post where a topic would have legitimate grounds for posting. A Mosin Nagant video on Mega Projects, a Top Ten most influential paintings on TopTenz, etc.
