- Mod stage 2.2, rig weight 545g (58/42), not tested yet:
- Injora 1.3 Al-wheels
- front wheels 58g each, brass ring
- rear wheels 41g each, aluminium ring
- Injore tires 70x27 mm
- body trimmed to avoid rubbing of the front tires
Mod stage 2.1:
- DJ Crawler tires 68x26 with dual stage foam
- Injora 1“ wheels
Mod stage 2.0:
- heavy 1.3“ wheels with DJ Crawler tires 64x24 mm; each front wheel weights 108g, each rear wheel 50g
- weight distribution now 62% front and 38% rear
- optimization stock steering
Gain in climbing: 1° (from 56° to 57°).
More weight at the front makes no sense. The overall abilities would get worse. The poor climbing is caused by the torque twist which helds this rig really back. Kind of disappointing if you compare it to the FCX24 in this video (stock electronics!)
Mod stage 1.1:
- brass outer portal cover front axle
- ball bearings instead of bushings in the portals
Gain in climbing: 1° (from 55° to 56°)
Mod stage 1.0:
- Injore brass wheels with only brass rings at the front axle (front wheel 59g, rear wheel 50g)
- Injore 64mm x 24mm tires
- more oil in the shocks
Climbing ability: 55°
Bought 1.3" brass beadlock wheels (combined with 70mm Cling Ons and yellow Injora silicone inserts). Rig weighed ~705g! Very heavy, but very planted. Love your idea of putting brass rings in front wheels and aluminium in the rear (I have aluminium wheels on order). Have you tried this combination out yet?
@@Biolazard Absolutely, works great. In mean time I have reached mod 4.0. Means brass wheels with brass rings at the front and the Al-wheels / Al-rings at the rear axle. Here an example how the rig works: czcams.com/users/shortskDqrnPVrC5w?si=8sMB20b6LGQOhYFS
@@stefan-norge Looks so good! My rig is mostly stock (unlike yours! 👍😁), so I'm wondering what gains there would be if I set my wheels up like yours....
@@Biolazard There will be a huge difference. Let me know your opinion after you have tested it.
Wow just beautiful!
I think I need one
Absolutely cool rig. Just the torque twist helds it back when it‘s about pure straight climbing.
Hi bro. How do you like this model? I'm thinking of ordering one for myself. What do you say about her?
I like it a lot. It is right out of the box really capable. The only week point is the torque twist. But there is a nice and quite cheap fix: buy a complete stock rear axle of a FCX24 and use this one. When you do so you can use the second transmission output which is conter rotating. That helps a lot for the torque twist. I did it the more expensive way and bought the aluminium V2 axle from hobby plus. You can rotate the diff by 180° and then also use the 2. transmission output. But if you are not after the aluminium axles just stick to the FCX24 rear axle. FMS sells it fully assembled for 23$….
Thanks! Besides the torque, which is better to replace immediately?
I saw a video where a dude changes a venom brushless motor and complains about a 2-speed gearbox. Is this really the case? Or are they all right?
@@ПетрКочетков-б6о some say the driveshaft. I have had no issue until now. I would use it stock and do the changes if something brakes. If you want to upgrade it anyway just do what you like.
I have the evo pro brushless and ordered the injora 1.3 brass wheels and 70mm tires and was wondering if you have any rubbing problems 🤔
Yeah, I did trim the body quite a bit. It is always the same: full steering and articularion cause rubbing. If you have a closer look at the body in my vid you will see the trimming.
