Awesome video ... also, congratulations on acquiring the great example of a 1987 Porsche 911 Careera 3.2! The mid-to-late eighties 911 Carreras are definitely a sweet spot in Porsche's historical lineup. BTW ... I got a kick out of the B&W framed photos (proof of a "true" P-Car enthusiast)! Speaking of enthusiasts, I am currently on my fifth P-Car and there is no turning back, LoL. If you get an opportunity, it would be cool to see more content involving Porsches and possibly other unique sports cars ...
The switches under the dash above the ignition are - one for the sunroof and the other to switch between mirrors (so you can regulate the electric mirrors with the knob/joystick on the door). The buttons between the speedometre and the clock are - Upper switch is intermittent wiper and the lower one is for headlight wash. The button under the dash on the right is for intense cleaning.
Hey MacPro8CoreMan thanks for stopping by the video! I'll do my best to set up my camera to get more of a driving and talking experience. Any specific things you'd like me to touch on? Are you in the market for a Carerra?
3 Systems. Vent - Heat - AC. All separate. Vent - blower motor, 3 stages or no air cut off. Middle slider moves it up to dash or lower under dash ( no sides). Heat - pull levers up you get hot air. Red slider. Again, up dash-down floor but also sides. Lastly AC. On console. Blows side top center and lower. Can’t control
The levers between the seat is for heat, and it blows from underneath the seat. The more you pull up the more air flow, and the numbered nob is extra fan . Don’t drive mine in the winter, but some chilly fall days - Targa top down heat on!
It's so true. Like I say in the video there is something really special about the sounds of the doors, the vibrations in the shift knob, the smell of the engine. What year is your carerra and what color? Are you in the US or Canada?
Gorgeous color combination and the interior looks brand new which is amazing considering the age and color. One thing I didn’t realize until recently but not all porsches have the ignition on the left. 356 speedsters have it on the right.
thats a good point. Would that be prior to it's entry to Lemans? I think their first race was 1966. 356 production was 1945-65. Ps my first toy car ever was a 356 which i still have 25 years later :)
@@LivingRad Yes, thats pre-LM racing era for Porsche. Even though they did race in other races at the time of 356s, They changed it after finding out that certain aspects saved time on the start up.
I'll have to do a little bit more research and practice before I jump into detailing this myself :P I've heard horror stories since these don't have clear coats :O
I have a silver 87. Been separated from it for a year - it's in California, I'm in Florida. We reunite in a month, then I drive it cross country as the love affair reignites!
Camera work needs improving however the big problem I have is that a video about driving a 3.2 that has you driving it for the last few seconds isn't really about driving it, you spend too much time talking about inane things rather than the driving experience.
Hey WT thanks for your stopping by and your comment. Sorry you didn't like the video. I really hope that my discussion of the driving experience resonated with some others tho. Wishing you a better day.
I bought one in 1987 brand new black with the champagne, interior and the whale tale,,kept it pristine for 15 years had 11,000 miles on it then I went and sold it, to this day I regret my decision
Clicked on this video to watch the Porsche not your dam intrests in coffee and cheesy music and everybody knows about the starter switch being on the left allegedly due to Le Man's blah blah blah. But it's also very well known from retired Porsche factory workers is that the key was put on the left to save manufacturing costs , less wiring length needed on every car built .
Thanks for stopping by the channel. Hopefully you liked the video :) Por-shah or por-shh doesn't change how I view this car of other enthusiasts. Cheers
Not much about driving a Porsche more about your pre driving espresso routine. Disappointed we didn’t get to experience your post driving beverage preference. Pretty car but not a great video.

Thank you so much for stopping by the channel! That clears things up a bit :P you must have one of these? What colour/year?!
That’s if you have those options. Not all do.
It's pronounced "Por-Sha"... Also clickbait; should be titled What it's like to LOOK at a 1987 Porsche Carrera 3.2.

I’m feeling the Gaggia and I had one before. FYI when you clay bar your paint, you introduce scratches so you have to polish.
guards red a great colour for that car. Interior looks perfect. Love it original.
Thank you so much! This has been a dream come true for my dad and I. We are honoured to be the custodians of this beauty!

A few drops of 3 in1 oil on that AC pully bearing zaps it quiet. Ask me how I know. lol
thanks for that bill. I'll have to get into it this week! And thank you for stopping by the channel :)
You beat me to it, I was about to comment the same thing about the squeaky engine.
Pretty unique color combo with sports seats. Nice!
Thanks so much! We feel very lucky to have such a specimen. I’ve seen some great combos with metallic green and brown interior which was gorgeous

Im going over to your link right now!
I have one of these cars - for about ten years. Its a wonderful thing to own and enjoy. They don't make cars like this anymore!

Love the retro porsche
Im actually picking one up myself
Very nice, clean example
Amazing! Congratulations! What year are you looking at and what colour combo?

Very clean; especially the engine. It appears to be very well maintained.
Thank you so much! It's in beautiful shape. Preservation class :)
Very nice minty Porsche 911 you bought, CG. I love the guards red on a Carrera + the sport seats woah. Next show us how to clay bar a Porsche.

That's a really nice example. Camerawork is unwatchable though. Tripods are not that expensive.
Fom France thanks for this video!

Hell ya! I am yet to ride with the top down in the Carrera! If it's anything like the SL I can imagine it to be such a liberating experience.

Thank you J K I really appreciate that support :)
Love but i feel it sounds like a washing machine.

Never trust the odometer of the pre ‘90 Porsche.
She’s well documented. Not to mentions in better shape then what the odometer says :P
It took 5 minutes to get to the car!
WTF 4:48
You know you can skip right?
I fast forwarded it to 12 min and he's just driving off?? What was this supposed to be about?
What part of 'driving off' are you not comprehending. He drove off. Period. End of story.
Sorry it was more of a vlog video. Stay tuned for more in depth videos.
is it better than driving a forklift?
Yes
@@LivingRad you stil have it? how much was yours
and what do you think of the Cabriolet porsches ? from the same era
Nice car. I'm doing an engine out rebuild/hopup now on my '89. I hope to have it back on the road sometime in the summer.
No way! That’s unreal! Please keep us updated! I would love to see some progress videos?!
It’s a Porsche, not Porsch!
Not every porsche has key on left.
Ya but the flagship 911 has always had it there.

do you Crema?
4:45 of video before we see the car. And the whole video has nothing to do with the title! Wasted 23 minutes of my precious life.

Porsha
Thank you Mr Porshall
