  • Magical World Of Melody - The Romantic Music Of Rachmaninoff
This is one side from a vinyl set of 10 records recorded back in 1963 dubbed the "Magical World Of Melody."
The Orchestra performing this "compilation" is: "Peter Knight Singers And Orchestra. The pianist is John Wingell
    The tracklist is as follows:
-Theme From Piano Concerto No. 2
    -Prelude In G Minor
-How Fair This Spot (Soprano: Patricia Clark)
-Theme From Rhapsody On A Theme Of Paganini
    -Prelude In C# Minor
    -Vocalise
    -Theme From Symphony No. 2
-Finale Of Piano Concerto No. 2
I posted it on my channel because of the wonderful combination of PIANO, ORCHESTRA, and VOCALS.
I hope this gives a wonderful insight as to how "Jazz" orchestras operated back then, and how each conductor put his own "Flair" on Classical pieces - you can pick out subtle variations in the scoring.
To my knowledge (and my relief) someone has generously uploaded the entire set in a playlist. It can be found here:

Fortunately, these recordings will NOT be lost to history!
Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you know anything about this particular recording or set
