- Laman and Lemuel want nothing more to do with their father's request to obtain the brass plates. Angry and frustrated, they rebel against Nephi and Sam and beat their younger brothers with wooden rods--until an angel appears and makes them stop the beating.
Based on 1 Nephi 3:28-31:
28 And it came to pass that Laman was angry with me, and also with my father; and also was Lemuel, for he hearkened unto the words of Laman. Wherefore Laman and Lemuel did speak many hard words unto us, their younger brothers, and they did smite us even with a rod.
29 And it came to pass as they smote us with a rod, behold, an angel of the Lord came and stood before them, and he spake unto them, saying: Why do ye smite your younger brother with a rod? Know ye not that the Lord hath chosen him to be a ruler over you, and this because of your iniquities? Behold ye shall go up to Jerusalem again, and the Lord will deliver Laban into your hands.
30 And after the angel had spoken unto us, he departed.
31 And after the angel had departed, Laman and Lemuel again began to murmur, saying: How is it possible that the Lord will deliver Laban into our hands? Behold, he is a mighty man, and he can command fifty, yea, even he can slay fifty; then why not us?

I’ve always had a testimony of the Book of Mormon but these videos really bring it to life and you wonder, again, how Laman and Lemuel continually distrust the Lord. Faith in man and their power and not in God and His power.
I have been humbled by the portrayal of Laman and Lemuel. This video series has shown to me how stubborn they are, and has revealed things about how stubborn I am. But it also reveals how much a man can accomplish if he repents! And how God even loves sinners like Laman and Lemuel. Again and again, God forgave them. We do not know their final fate, and I wonder, after seeing how different Laman and Lemuel are from how I imagined them, I have hope for myself, who am often so stubborn, who fall into the Mists of Darkness only to be pulled out again and again by the Lord and returned to the firm Iron Rod!
Unfortunately I am more like Laman and Lemuel. I wouldn't want to leave all my fancy toys and the comfort of home to go out and camp in the wilderness and live in tents. I'm also very good at complaining. This lets me know what my bad attitude, complaining and self pity may someday lead me and I don't want that.

We should be willing to keep the Lord's commandments
To me, this video drives home the point that the Lord gave Laman and Lemuel multiple opportunities to lead.

I really really wish they numbered these in the titling. I know they have the scripture reference numbers but a non member who might be interested would be lost. I'm a long time member and I got confused.
Late to the party but if you want to watch these chronologically I'm pretty sure theres a category of playlists on the book of mormon videos CZcams channel that list them in chronological order.
