For example, the lightsaber strikes were random and maybe a little bit to fast paced, really though what I didn’t like is that it looks like they are randomly flailing their arms around and the lightsabers clash even tho they shouldn’t. What would be best is a combo of battlefront 2’s combat and this game. Aswell as graphics. I agree tho that gameplay/mechanics/story is mostly more important than graphics.
I feel like combat similar to Sekiro would go well, heavily focused on blocking, deflecting, and parrying attacks. The Jedi Academy games always looked to choatic, floaty, and overall just hard to follow. It didn’t look like there was an actual art to the combat like how legends portrays lightsaber fighting.
One of the big things about gore and dismemberment in games isn't that it looks good as much as it's amazing feedback when a player attacks. It lets you not only know that you dealt a blow to the enemy, but that *they aren't getting back up from it either.*

Wait? Jedi Academy have "Dismemberment" turned off in options, there's 3 different settings for it. 1 was "off" , second was limbs only and last was "full body".
Yes you don't need to "cheat" but if you enable saberrealistic combat all the lightsabers do a buckton more damage, instakill even without attacking and always dismember
I wish they could have some option you could enable/disable gore/dismemberment before you start the game that way players who wish for more violence can enjoy it and those who don't can enjoy it

Outcast is the tops. Best gameplay, top tier (for that series) graphics, good story. The demo alone was worth playing because it was a stand alone mission.
He didn't get cut in half he should have been cut but it just shows the burn marks for a second but it's still in tact and then the burn mark goes away
interesting fact: in jedi outcast, droids can be dismembered fully, just like the stormtroopers, without the entering of the command. they just thought it too disgusting to have full dismemberment all the time, and I fully agree. you ca also chop off a stormtroopers hand without the code, and he'll go into a death animation where he holds his arm out, gripping where his hand used to be, and screams before collapsing onto his side.
Star Wars Jedi Academy game is one my favourite star wars games, with making your own character & choosing your own lightsabers, one my favorite kind of games.
Wonder if we will ever get a star wars game with the human dismemberment level of force unleashed 2, it was so satisfying to see the lightsabers do what they do best, shame it probably will never happen with Disney in charge.
At the Episode 3 game, I saw a mod where you actually simulate Anikin killing all the younglings, complete with dismemberment or at least training helmets flying off. It went all dramatic with slo mo and vivid musical notes.
4:50 there is also one little fact, which i mentioned during my walkthrough of this game. In the cutscene, where the duel between Obi, Anakin and Dooku is about to start and Dooku is lighting his lightsaber, there is a small extension of this scene, where he says "Just because there are two of you, do not assume you have the advantage." In the movie this phrase was completely cutted out.
Outcast for me, if you macro the bullet time when you throw the light saber, you could see the slow mo mid air dismemberment, frikin awesome. Also seeing luke dismember everyone is frikin awesome too.
Dude, Revenge Of The Sith was such an amazing game, I had fun playing it during the transformation of Anakin to Darth Vader, killing the Jedi in the temple, and killing the separatist leaders on mustafar. My most favorite thing out of the story mode, was that there was a level where you play as Anakin instead of Obi-Wan and after you beat Kenobi, you would get an alternate ending for the game and the movie. I really loved that! I still play that to this day, story mode and the lightsaber duel multiplayer mode against cpu opponents. Revenge of the sith will always hold a special place in my heart, and will always be known as the best Star Wars game in my opinion. That and Battlefront 1 and 2 for PS2. Those are amazing Star Wars games for me to play. Sorry, I didn’t mean to ramble like this lol. Loved the video, dude!
0:55 There's a game from 1998 called "Die by the Sword" with much, much more elaborate dismemberment system. Hell, even the MC can get dismembered, like losing an arm or entire leg (and then will proceed to hop around on a single leg for the rest of the level).
Jedi Outcast/Academy’s dismemberment is originally set as you can cut off hands and arms, but you can up the dismemberment with cheat codes in the console to cut off legs, arms, and hands, and the final level of legs, arms, hands, heads, and horizontal half slice
You can also cut the limbs(legs, arms and head) of the battle droids in EA's battlefront 2 (sometimes it works and sometimes not, the baster works as well)

In Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy dismemberment occurs rarely and from what I remember only arms/hands can be dismembered. Realistic dismemberment of all body parts (as seen in this gameplay) occurs only after entering code: g_saberrealisticcombat. However, in this mode game is extremely easy, since only one lightsaber touch causes dismemberment and death (regardless of which body part is cut off). Even the last bosses can be defeated in such a way (without even swinging the lightsaber).
I had jedi outcast on Gamecube, it barely had dismemberment like hands chopped off or lower arm, but i had Jedi Academy on xbox and it had way more dismemberment (unlike what you say in the video) but only a few enemies could be sliced in half if i remember correctly

It’s not really a game but a mod for Jedi Academy, it’s got dismemberment but you have to enable it in the settings (default is limbs only but its best when set to full body) the mod is Movie Battles 2 but it’s pretty hard to learn how to actually be a decent Jedi and the game takes some getting used to
i think it would be cool if you could upgradde ur strength in a skill tree, so the stronger you get, the more you can pull the limbs off of stormtroopers cleanly
the downside to the jedi acedemy "mod" i guess i should say, that you showed, is that like ponda boba in a new hope... LIGHTSABERS SHOULDN'T LEAVE BLOOD... THEY FRICKING SINGE THE CUTS SHUT... otherwise when maul was cut in half obi-wan's clothes would have been covered in red.
The Jedi Knight series was so good, I had to buy all the games after playing Jedi academy! I heard dark forces 2 had movie like cutscenes too so am hyped for that!
The Force Unleashed games were so good I had to buy them both on the Wii and 360 and unlock all achievements for both before I died. That was an actual life goal of mine about 5 years ago.
I find it weird that the animations imply dismemberment but they do not happened meaninf the devs wanted it but someone else did not. Hope the game has it and what we saw was slightly incomplete game footage.
If I'm not mistaken in rots the game if you do certain combos or button you can actually cuts both of the clone troopers arm and finally a stabbed in the guts while you face in the other direction
In Star Wars Episode 3 the game you can cut both arms off you just need to do a combo or a Slow motion attack or special attack cant remember. it works with the clones only. The droids just combust into pieces except the battle hardened grapple droids this was also my childhood game.
It’s funny how the latest Star Wars movie to come The Last Jedi has dismemberment when in this game they don’t want and the stuff about how the heat of the lightsaber will not cause dismemberment is dumb because yes it stops bleeding but you still have the other half of what you cut which will have to fall off

Just played Jedi Academy recently, and it has dismemberment without codes, it's just very rare.
That is trippy I never saw the whole right arm of every star wars character

I like the little detail in The Force Unleashed II where stormtroopers will try and grab onto their friends when you pick them up with the force
i think it would be cool if you could upgradde ur strength in a skill tree, so the stronger you get, the more you can pull the limbs off of stormtroopers cleanly
that actually gives darker ideas like using flesh as a light saber resistance material

The Jedi Knight series was so good, I had to buy all the games after playing Jedi academy! I heard dark forces 2 had movie like cutscenes too so am hyped for that!
The Force Unleashed games were so good I had to buy them both on the Wii and 360 and unlock all achievements for both before I died. That was an actual life goal of mine about 5 years ago.
The right arm gets cut off because all the main characters are right handed.
Bombastic, just wanted to let you know, in Episode 3 there is a move where you cut off both arms of a clone trooper then spin and stab them.
ROTS is my favorite out of the games I have played...I want to play all of them eventually
I find it weird that the animations imply dismemberment but they do not happened meaninf the devs wanted it but someone else did not.

If I'm not mistaken in rots the game if you do certain combos or button you can actually cuts both of the clone troopers arm and finally a stabbed in the guts while you face in the other direction
In Star Wars Episode 3 the game you can cut both arms off you just need to do a combo or a Slow motion attack or special attack cant remember. it works with the clones only. The droids just combust into pieces except the battle hardened grapple droids this was also my childhood game.
Jango didn't lose his hand, Windu only cut his blaster in half before decapitating him
Imagine a remake of Jedi Outcast with new Unreal Engine with full dismemberment.. I would pay gold.
It’s funny how the latest Star Wars movie to come The Last Jedi has dismemberment when in this game they don’t want and the stuff about how the heat of the lightsaber will not cause dismemberment is dumb because yes it stops bleeding but you still have the other half of what you cut which will have to fall off
