As someone with both, this is the realest comment I have ever seen. “Clash/work together” describes my entire existence.
Dan saying he wanted to write to the game devs saying they were right reminded me of when my dad got a big puzzle/crossword book for christmas years ago: he got to the last puzzle, figured out it was incorrect because the answers didn't work, wrote the publisher and they sent him a FREE NEW BOOK and a letter that they updated and reprinted the books with the corrected final cross word.

When I was little I wrote in to the publisher of Where's Waldo? saying I found a mistake in one of their puzzles and they sent me a book signed by Martin Handford and a bunch of "Waldo Watcher" swag. Kid me was over the damn moon.

Yeah I... Couldn't with the books. I had to skip ahead. I have pretty bad OCD and while I've spent a lifetime developing coping mechanisms Arin repeatedly making the books worse instead of fixing the pattern had me.... In pain, and feeling violent.

The reason mental illnesses have a scale of effect is they can all be broken down into two categories. Your brain is doing a normal thing, but way to much. Your brain is failing to do a normal thing, or at least not doing it enough.
Whats "normal" is just the average amount of x thing the brain should do. So basically everyone has at least something where they're outside the average.

Lol I'm literally at that part once I read this. It makes sense tho. The Barcode stickers alone are too cluddered with information to be grouped and look aesthetically pleasing.
I came to confirm this because I was impatient. In my head each fruit gets one sticker and the rest go in the trash 😂

This is fascinating. Arin having trouble with the calender stickers while dan has already filled the whole thing in mentally. Shows ad(h)d vs ocd comparison really well.
hearing dan talk about his expeeriences with ocd is so comforting to me after being diagnosed in late 2021 and going through lots of treatment for it through 2022 :] he's a great reminder that i can get better

Arin trying to keep the red books pattern centered, when this would occur naturally as he finished said patter, was infuriating.
That whole section was infuriating for a bunch of reasons. Most of them because I am OCD.... Arin not seeing what I can't stop seeing repeatedly resulted in his actions causing pain.
It was so hard to watch, but at least there was a song about kissing dads

As someone with OCD, this both relaxes me and make me unbelievably anxious because some of these look really nice, and others look nothing like how I would organise them to make my life happy
Watching the books with the pattern make this game feel uniquely designed to make me want to scream at Arin lol
I have the OCD and ADHD combo platter, and watching Dan and Arin not throw away the blue stickers (or even just all of the stickers) made me want to reach through the screen and shake them by the shoulders yelling "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, JUST THROW AWAY THE STICKERS!"

this game actually really feels accurate to OCD because when you're doing a compulsion, at some point you're like "ok, I got it 'right' now! the compulsion action is done, right?" and then your brain is like "well sorta, but re-do the entire ritual again because you did it wrong." Just when you think you've solved the 'puzzle' of the compulsion, it turns out that you're 'wrong'. This game is a literal representation of that feeling. Sorta puts you on edge when you can't get it 'right'.

Never expected the grump bois to play this so I am both surprised AND happy!
It's so interesting, to me, how the things people immediately notice are so different. it makes watching other people do puzzles nearly excruciating at times.
It's honestly funny having that very soothing flute play in my ear, but can you just imagine sitting here for hours and hours having that flute never shut the fuck up when you're trying to solve this puzzle?
Even the best of things will be maddening at a long enough level.

REZ got remade and released for the ps4 and you can use a second controller for the “trance vibration,” which is a feature that I can say adds a lot to the gameplay.

This game reminds me of actual psychological testing I've had to do. Especially the part where there's multiple ways to sort each one.

i love this game because you can organize however you want, mostly. it allows you to fin multiple patterns to sort, like with the pencils - color, sharpness, eraser, or the second books - the line on the side, the colors - its so fun to explore.
I will absolutely watch more episodes cuz I loved it, but holy hell was it infuriating. Kept yelling "JUST GET RID OF THEM!!" at the fruit sticker part.
