  • In my quest for using up all my scraps I have been creating card fronts with using only strips and having fun with that. More to come as I plan to do another video showing the process of weaving scrap strips.

The first video I watched was your dream cottage, followed by the dolls house, but my hobby’s are junk journal, and card making and your ideas ( I’m still binge watching) are quite magical and will take my simple cards up a notch. Thank you great designs xx🦋🦋🦋

    You made some beautiful cards with your scraps and strips. I would put a purple stripe, down the middle of the one with the wide peach piece. You said that there was purple in the print picture, on the multi coloured strip. Just an idea. They matted ones look like you really stepped up a notch or two. Very nice work.

    Honestly, I don't know what's wrong going corner to corner, if the piece is long enough. Personal preference is the key. You might not care for it, but I like it.💁‍♀️ To tell someone to Not do it that way is, to me, just all the more reason to try it.

      I am an artist which has participated in many competitions wherein my students have taken 12 top national awards. It is a known rule to never divide the plane into two equal parts be it vertical, on the horizon or horizontal. Having one side larger than the other is always a better composition. When I am designing cards I apply everything that I have learned about composition in art to make a more pleasing composition on the plane of a card as well.

    Love your cards ... so beautiful .:) .....
    Just a little (critic) side note :) and seriously, it is NO OFFENCE to you at all, just letting others know.... As I never knew this myself ......
    My Hubby's birthday is Christmas Day, he so hated growing up and receiving 'Christmas cards as Birthday cards" as did my late Mum (her Birthday was = 9th Dec),
    I never knew this until about 5 years into our marriage, when I overheard them talking about it :(
    I never did this to either, but never gave it a thought that others did :(
    Apparently my Mother in-law (and Grandmother) used to wrap their gifts up in Xmas wrapping paper and sealed it with a Xmas card, whishing them a 'Happy Birthday' :(
    Broke my heart when Hubby told me that he couldn't understand when growing up, why his siblings got a Happy Birthday cad and NOT a Merry Christmas card for their Birthdays 💔
    My Note is : If their Birthday is in December, do a Birthday card without 'Christmas stuff' on it ....
    Sorry If I offended, was not at all intentional, just my 40+ years of knowing this now that it truly (secretly) effects those who's birthdays are around Christmas time ) or in December at least) :) Apparently a lot of families do this :(

    • @DebraCarmona
      @DebraCarmona  Před rokem +1

      None offense taken. One of my sons has a birthday just a few days before Christmas. He never got a Christmas card for his birthday but a birthday card. I have a friend who lost her brother to suicide on Christmas morning so she no longer celebrates Christmas so I make sure not to send her a Christmas card but I do remember to send her a birthday card on her on her birthday.
