Interesting. Maybe I should start using Family Search. More explainations like this are great. Thank You Devon. Stay safe and well down there in Texas.

Sounds like a plan. I'm game for doing more 'show you how' research. I just need the inspiration to kick in.

I am watching later--not live. You know that I am a loyal fan. I thought this video was very well done and provided a great deal of information. It was great to have a spontaneous training session during the presentation. This video really made me want to go work on Family Search.

Perfect. I might do a few more spontaneous research. I like knowing ahead what I'm working on. Yet sometimes the on the spot stuff is what I did at my local library and people loved it.

Q: i have a 2x great grandma who I have been told and found records stating Henrietta Davis was born in Wallowa, Oregon in 1898 to Ruby Davis (male from California) and Katie Downing... But when I found her in the 1900 census, it lists Ruby as HOH BUT lists Henrietta as a STEP-daughter with a wife named Agnes. Henrietta's delayed birth cert, marriage record to Charles Allenbach, and her death cert with Ruby and Katie as her parents... Could I have the wrong census record? I don't want to have to delete all of my research on Ruby and Katie unless its right.

I am very new to genealogy, but not research (in grad school for nursing). So I love this video, thank you! Also a fairly new subscriber! What I've found most recently is hints are taking me to the ex's, and I'm cleaning up other far put branches of my tree that were empty or wrong as I'm guessing new info became available and indexed. FYI, I love merging duplicates with substantial sources, leaving notes on why I did, and indexing is awesome when I have some time!!! But, I'm ready to make that big significant connection in direct bloodline. Practice makes perfect, right? Great content, thanks for the tips!!!

Wow! You have quite the challenge with those backgrounds. Have you utilized the FamilySearch Wiki? This is a great resource to point you in the direction of available reference materials. czcams.com/video/jIR6hatnyEE/video.html

How does a person add to the "chat"?

That chat is during the livestreams. There should be a box you an hide or unhide the chat when I'm live. Afterwards, we chat in the comments.

Too bad you didn't have time to show the descendency view with sources, as it's often used to help find relatives, but more importantly, you enable OTHERS to more easily connect up to the tree as they start up, and you help pave the way to their family's past.

I think I'll do a separate video about that. I just put in on the schedule for later this month.
