No. All the fucking books, it was too much for the sensitive soul of Elvis what he read because of Geller. Always when Geller appeared in Elvis life, Elvis felt bad and got unhealthy. Elvis was responsible for his life and nobody else. But Geller was no friend. He had no idea about Elvis real problems. Elvis was responsible for everything what happened in his life. Colonel Parker was his only real friend. But no one could help Elvis but Elvis.

You can see that Elvis trusted Larry with some of his deepest thoughts, and the biggest plans for his life. As Larry said, when he talked about how Elvis knew that his bad habits were like a time bomb, about to kill him, and yet he procrastinated, like so many of us do, that truly was the biggest tragedy of Elvis' life. He had so much to live for. If only he had started getting his health together sooner. So sad. And a lesson to us all - I really took this to heart. Elvis really had a wonderful friend in Larry.

Now that is a true friend. Larry and Elvis had much in common and it's easy to see why they became friends. Mr Geller is a gentleman and has never talked poorly of Elvis. He sees the bigger picture of Elvis, especially when it comes to Elvis's use of drugs. He said that although Elvis was responsible for using drugs, he was also a victim. I've been reading, on other sites, about how selfish and insensitive Elvis's manager Tom Parker was, and how he had seemingly utter control over Elvis. And that it was Colonel Tom Parker who, in the long term, was responsible for Elvis's death. So I was just Elated to hear Larry Geller's first hand account of Elvis's plan to fire the Colonel, let go of much of his staff, put his performing on hold and go to Hawaii to get healthy, get off the pills, get rested, and then come back as a new and improved Elvis. Even though his plan didn't come to fruition because of his health issues, I think that Elvis recognizing his dire situation and making a plan to better his life and be happy and whole again, is huge on the human scale. I would like to say posthumously to Elvis - With love - Way to go Elvis for taking control and for being such a good, and spiritual and generous human being ♥️.

Larry saying Elvis wanted to clean up isn't the first I've heard of it - or at least part of his plan to change his life. Joe Esposito even said that Elvis cleaned up his act on his last vacation in March 1977. Those pics show a man enjoying himself and having fun. In the pics, Elvis is a bit chubby, but not as big as many have claimed. In fact, his weight looks like many early 40s guys in the pics.
Anyway, this interview with Larry is great. He seems like a real genuine man and I'd love to meet him one day. Well said, Jan D. I believe it too. Ginger too says Elvis was planning to change his life. Some people are high-strung and Elvis was one of them. Some people inadvertently use substances in excess to cope with the demands and stress of life and entertainers, especially on Elvis' - or near - level of success have it worst. Like Michael Jackson. While many blame the doctor for his death, people need to look at the bigger picture. Michael had been using drugs for years before that doctor came into his life and would have procured another doctor had that doctor turned him down and would have died of drug-related causes anyway. But Michael was a near 51-year-old man and wasn't going to take no for an answer. I believe Michael took too many drugs that day as the shows were approaching to numb his pain and pressure and he pushed himself too hard to perform, just like Elvis did. All Elvis and Michael wanted to do was sleep and function. I hope both Elvis and Michael - and many others who lost the fight against substance abuse - are at total peace now.

    • @alexcarratu5554

As for the book the Wests wrote, I totally agree. No matter how hard it must have been to help Elvis, to throw him under the bus after two decades of friendship must have felt like a massive dagger to Elvis' heart. Elvis was kind to them and they betrayed his kindness, writing that sleazy book, thinking it would help him. Please, gimme a break. Elvis even offered the Wests about $40k or $50k to tire them over until they could get a real job. However, I have read that Red eventually did come to regret writing that book and even had tears in his eyes when discussing his regret at it with Elvis' longtime friend, George Klein. As for Sonny, did he regret it? Probably. Plus, it was the Seventies. Back then, there wasn't as much knowledge on the dangers of substance abuse and depression, so that stigma and ignorance further hurt Elvis. Who could he trust? Regardless of his problems and high superstar status, Elvis was entitled to his privacy. I don't believe that Elvis killed himself. It was most likely a tragic accident exacerbated by a myriad of health conditions the doctors and the Colonel should have been aware of and treated Elvis for them. So Elvis didn't just die of a heart attack alone, he died of ignorance and greed of others too.

But he was surrounded by sycophants like the Memphis Mafia and an uncaring exploitative manager the Colonel.
Larry Geller was only his hair stylist. He couldn’t intervene and get rid of those guys around him exploiting him. He couldn’t save him but he saw that Elvis really needed to get away from the Colonel and the MM because they were bringing him the drugs. He was taking a drug cocktail every day that was insane. So Elvis was doomed as long as he was surrounded by the yes men.
He once told his cousin when he was near the end, that the next time you see me, I’ll be on a higher spiritual plane. He knew he going to Heaven.
    God Bless him!
    RIP Elvis

Do wouldn’t blame Elvis if he had faked his own death because his life was a circus and very unhappy he was used by a lot of people . I think if Larry had been allowed he could have changed Elvis and took care of him he could have got him of drugs and got decent doctors to take care of him . Elvis was a very spiritual man and Larry could have helped him with this and I truly believe he would have been happy . But he would have had to get rid of the colonel and all the Elvis Mafia as they were evil men . Sadly it was not to be . But I applaud you for trying Larry your a good man ,

I've read that in 1977 he told a few people he planned to make big changes in his life. Ginger Alden wrote that he planned a whole new beginning. JD Sumner said that Elvis also told him he was planning a big change, and would do a strictly gospel tour, which he wanted to discuss with him. But then he was gone.

Alex Carratu I read a very good article on Huffington Post written in 2016, and updated in 2017, written by a forensic coroner named Garry Rodgers, who makes a case that the actual cause of death was a head injury, TBI, or Traumatic Brain Injury. It's titled "Elvis Presley's Death - What Really Killed the King?" He says that Elvis' behaviour changed in 1967, after the injury. The side effects are chronic pain, irrational behaviour, and severe body changes such as obesity and enlarged organs. We know that Elvis' colon was extremely enlarged. I also heard a doctor on NPR (I think), discussing something similar about his death, with the knowledge of more than 40 years since the fact. I wonder why these things are not more widely reported.

@@katgirlblue another one of Elvis's plans was to write his autobiography according to Larry. I can't recall the planned title, but Elvis wanted Larry to help him write it. Also, Elvis was going to get rid of more members of his entourage. "It'll make my daddy happy", Larry recalls Elvis saying. If you haven't, get hold of the book by Larry, Leaves of Elvis's Garden: The Song of His Soul. It does mention Elvis's future plans and says that Elvis did even try to change his diet several times, but found it hard to make the change completely. It is a lovely book and quite emotional too. It won't let you down and Larry does Elvis justice in death with this book. It's a shame that Elvis and Larry didn't know each other years before. They really were great friends, almost like brothers. Thank you, Mr Geller, for setting the record straight and for your devotion to Elvis and your kindness to us fans.

Larry Geller was and still is an agnostic spiritualist. He claims to have been Presley's personal hairdresser which members of Presley's mafia members refute. He wasn't liked by the older mafia members because they believed he tried to get Elvis to leave his Southern Gospel roots and denounce Christianity. Geller is quoted as saying that Presley denounced Jesus Christ as the son of God claiming that we are all Gods which is the Spiritualist mantra. Geller claimed that he was the Master and Presley was his student. Geller claims he got Presley into yoga and meditation. He acts as if Presley was a lost soul until he (Geller) arrived to save him (Presley) from himself. If he got Presley to denounce Christ, Geller committed the greatest sin by setting Presley on a course to Hell itself. Don't trust what this man says.

Opal's Boy where in the world did you get that garbage? Not one word of that is true. He never tried to get Elvis to denounce Christianity, and he did not force himself on Elvis. Even George Klein, in his book, wrote that Elvis could not talk about spiritual things with the regular MM guys, so he was always discussing those matters with Larry. The other guys had no interest at all. These were things that Elvis was interested in his whole life, and talked to girlfriends about it too, long before he ever met Larry. Elvis was very much into meditation, and loved to go to the Self Realization Center where he could be at peace and meditate. Ummm, did you not realize that Elvis had a Meditation Garden built at Graceland? Are you so uninformed that you think meditation and studying different religions is somehow anti Christian? Meditation can open your mind to all sorts of peaceful and beautiful feelings. I think perhaps you should try it.

    • @norway178
      @norway178 Před 4 lety +4

You don't know what you are talking about, and neither did the MM. Elvis has the Statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Meditation Garden at Graceland. He also had a statue of the Sacred Heart in his bedroom. They've put it on display. If you listen to Elvis's gospel you would know he loved Jesus and was a very spiritual man. Theologians and others study metaphysics, philosophy, etc. in our major religions. Only very smart people can understand these studies because they can be hard to understand. There was no way Elvis could have discussed intelligent matters like this with the MM. I think Larry was one of few people that Elvis had in his life to discuss the spiritual. In fact, he told Larry he had no one he could talk about it with. Elvis did spend time talking to Larry, and in my opinion, the MM was jealous. Larry and Elvis are both very intelligent men, and intelligent people like to learn and search for answers. Not nice for others like the MM to make things up, because they don't even know what physics is, much less metaphysics. Elvis was Christian, and Larry is Jewish.
