It’s a terrible storm, the moanful sound of the wind(harp & guitar)
The unrelenting pounding if the surf(drums) with cymbal crashing waves
And the wind down of the storm like a top losing speed
Watch them play this live in 1971 at 19 years old. Album only out for few months
Magical night 🎊😎🎸
Song is over 50 years old. Match it with today?
❤❤❤Robert ❤❤❤
One of my all time favourites, so heavy, bluesy ❤. I remember they were told they would ‘go down like a led balloon’ , hence the evolution of their name Led Zeppelin- of course, the opposite happened and they rose stratospherically!
What can one say about the gods that are Led Zeppelin, they will be played forever ❤
If it keeps on rainin' the levee's.. going to break....You picked a winner, Robert's harmonica! Bonzos drums UFF! 🎶🎵🎶
STANKY SWAMP BLUES 🎵🎶
That's some heavy swampy fucking funky stanky blues with Robert killing the harmonica throughout ! SWAMP STANK BLUES !
When this music came out, most of those who would have listened to it wouldn't have had a screen to watch anything on anyway, so videos would have been irrelevant. This music was made for the ears, and the mind.
All music is made for the ears and the mind, else it's audio for video or a film score. React channels should react to the song only. Video is a completely different piece of art and often less impressive than the song. Great comment.
@@fahqfassebookman5157 thank you (人´∀`)
Any actual video would be them performing in the studio and that would be rare
God do I miss the seventies. Brilliant band! Great choice Bro.
Yes that's a harmonica. Robert was a phenomenal harmonica player as well as singer. The Lemon Song and You Shook Me ..........2 great songs that don't get so much attention
Dot forget Nobody’s Fault But Mine
@@dickcnormis1444 “Nobody’s Fault but Mine” is easily their most underrated song. It’s Plant’s best harmonica work and some of Bonham’s best drumming!
Ah yes, the Lemon Song. One of my favorite raw Plant screams, coming out of the first fast section. Raw, unchained blues right there.
You are a favorite reactor of mine….especially when you get the Led out❤❤
Thanks Pope. It was a harmonica played by Robert Plant, the singer. Here's some history: Another word for blimp is zeppelin. Led Zeppelin's name came from a joke before a concert by some other musicians predicting Zep's performance will fly like a lead (the heavy metal) blimp. Meaning they looked like they would fly but were predicted to take a dive like the Hindenburg.
Blimps and Zeppelins are very different types of airship.
Wrong
Yeah, Plant is not only a phenomenal vocalist, he's also great on the harmonica and the guitar.
don't worry friend. Focus on the song itself. This video is contradictory to enjoyment. It's all good. Song is a separate entity. Cheeers!!
The drum intro was sampled by Beastie Boys and many others , in fact Led Zeppelin are the most sampled by hip hop artists , the Song tho Is an old blues , that Zeppelin spiced with a bit of so much more , extraordinary musicians
Another fabulous LZ number. The groove!!! and Bonzo on drums!!! Much of LZ's music has roots in American blues. especially because Page and Plant who were "students" of the Delta and Chicago blues in their teens. The blues connection for this song is the 1929 recording by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy about the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927. Here's a link to that if you're interested in the origin czcams.com/video/swhEa8vuP6U/video.html Thanks for the reaction!! ☮
Your comment about the end crash scene - honorable
Yes Robert Plant plays the harmonica
Get the freakin Led out! 😂😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🔥👏
Great jam!
F.y.i. the actual HINDENENBURG, german zeppelin crashed and exploded in a town next to where i now live. Lakewood, n.j. 1937
Yes that is...played by Mr. Robert Plant, a very good blues harp player! That’s what the cool kids call a harmonic! 👍✌️
or a jews harp or a mouth organ
@@lesblatnyak5947 a jews harp and a harmonica (or mouth organ) are 2 completely different instruments.....look it up if u don't believe me.
Pope, listen to that drums, that harmonica, that guitar riff, that voice, that bass, LOL is Led Zeppelin once again, the greatest ones ... they have a great collection of tremendous songs. Loving your reactions.
You are a Led Head, young dude💕
Since enjoying going down the rabbit hole with Zeppelin.
Zed Zeppelin was Honored at the Kennedy Center. President Obama was there. Heart, a female group you should listen to, they sing Stairway to Heaven. All the boys were there to be honored except the Drummer who has past, but his son is the drummer in tribute. Brought tears to the boys. What a performance, standing only!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best cover of Stairway to Heaven.
Enjoy your channel, enjoy your journey to music I have listened to for 67 years. And still learning new music.
Yep as the late great Keith Moon once was quoted about the band would go down like a lead balloon. Jimmy Page remembered what he said and named it Led Zeppelin. 🔥
I thought it was Eric Clapton, his former Yardbirds mate, who said that... That it would go down like a Lead Zeppelin... and they dropped the "A" 'cause they thought Americans would pronounce it LEED Zeppelin.
@@williampeachey8118 Nope it was Keith Moon.
Yess
Please do Nobody's Fault But Mine next!!
You always seem to pop up on these LZ reaction vids Julie👌
Definitely!
Has the best harmonica solo!!
From the first note , you know what band it is! Wish I was 16 again. Definitely. The blues. To think that I was only 9 or 10 years younger than Plant. I loved him. That is what they took for the band name when some musicians said If they were a band, they'd probably sink like a Lead Zeppelin !
The song is taken from an old blues number about the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927.
When the Levee Breaks, was written and recorded by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929. the lyrics tell the story about what happened after the Mississppi Flood of 1927.
Great song! Not a real Zeppelin video. Someone just stuck a bunch of Zeppelin clips together with old zeppelin airship video.
Smoke a fat one to the greatest band on earth
Oh, the humanity!
I love you.
*5 and a half minutes into the song*
"is that a harmonica?"
bruh
💀
I believe the reference to this video... someone stated that Led Zeppelin would fail.just like the Hindenburg.
Jimmy used the picture of the @7:08 Zepplin burning in New Jersey on the cover of Led Zep 1
Keep digging into led zeppelin. U can react to the whole catalog via albums. Cus they dont have bad songs. Or just individual songs
This song was recorded faster....page slowed it down...plant sang over it
Young man, you have exquisite taste in music, you will go far in life.
The Hindenberg(sp) was a blimp, known then as a Zeppelin
Different types of airship.
Whoever is splicing these videos together with the music and visuals is brilliant.
You have to do a Reaction to Led Zepplins LEMON SONG
This is a true story , about when the Hindenburgh when it crashed no I love it too
I just discovered your channel and it's awesome! Keep up the good work dude. Also, you should check out the John Paul Jones When the Levee Breaks playing for change video that was posted a couple of weeks ago. Not saying you have to review it, but it's so good you have to see it. The video is to raise money for a good cause, and it features musicians from around the world. I'm talking the Congo, New Zealand, Norway, Argentina, Jacksonville, Minnesota, Austin, California, and others. Every single person in the video killed it, and this woman from New Zealand my God she can sing.
Not ur fault, someone didn’t have a bright idea. Respect ur comments. Thank you peace ✌️
Achilles Last Stand…LZ’s greatest tune EVER!!
Great song, but far from being their best
Im from Chicago
The Pope, would benefit greatly from a good set of headphones.
Trust me. Love your reactions brother.
Do. That.
in my top 5 favorite bands of all time! must watch live shows!!! a levee holds water back to prevent flooding so for example during hurricane Katrina the levee/s broke and New Orleans was severely flooded
“mean old levee taught me to weep and moan”
could also be a reference to the “floodgates opening” as in when one lets themself cry and cant stop
The song refers to the great Mississippi flood of 1927, which forced many poor farmers to move north, "going to Chicago". It was effectively the birth of the urban Blues. Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy recorded the original song in 1929.
The Hindenburg is on their first LP album cover. A Zeppelin.
I'm going down.. going down now.. going down... to that Subscribe button bro 🤙
One of the biggest disasters in history when the Hindenburg went up in a ball of fire, lots of people died, tragic!
So much greatness yet to be discovered…1960-1986…Then, the music died. Lost it’s soul and passion to the electronic age, creating lazy, so called Artist.
no disrespect brother 💙
Do Babe I'm Going To Leave you
Why have you not sampled"the crunge?"
Heres a couple of Song's that are not reacted to very much." Over the hills and far away" Heres a link
czcams.com/video/o-tT62bpYlU/video.html
And "Ten years gone"
czcams.com/video/MM3L4WwyQb4/video.html
Do you know what a zeppelin is right? Zepplin is a blimp and that one definitely looks like it had led in it
A blimp is a *non-rigid* airship, i.e. a simple powered balloon with a gondola suspended from it; a Zeppelin is a *rigid* airship, a long streamlined frame containing several gasbags and internal bombs or passenger accommodation.
Incidentally, the Hindenburg did not *explode*; static electricity produced a spark which ignited the highly inflammable cellulose dope. As the fire spread through the fabric covering and fuel tanks, the gasbags ruptured, allowing the hydrogen to escape upwards and burn with an invisible flame hundreds of feet above the ship. The visible fire was from burning fabric, fuel and furnishings.
@@danlefou I’m aware LOL
I think you’d like fool in the rain
I agree a very distasteful video.this video in no way was released by Led Zeppelin. Some clown edited this video together with clips that were not even from tis song
Exactly...you're right
It's just images of a Zeppelin but they needn't have shown the crash.
@@heliotropezzz333 Led Zeppelin showed the crash on the cover of their first album.
BABE I'M GONNA LEAVE YOU................ ONE OF MY FAVES OF LZ. You have a lot of music in your soul, you should learn an instrument.
I agree. Not enough kids play musical instruments these days. It’s almost becoming a lost art.
Ya need to check aht how many bands groups rap artists have sampled the drum ryth beat from this track you'd be surprised ,, who sampled who website ,, As ya do!!!
Have you done Moby Dick?
Hydrogen is Flammable, not a safe idea, but Keith Moon probably never got to fly on the Led Zeppelin Learjet Either. Keith beat everyone to the disrespectful statement.
Yes Zeppelin was one of the few...maybe the only ones...with their own huge jet!
boeing 720b, but yeah...
@@juliemanarin4127 They rented it. They didn't own it and it was available for others to rent but whether other bands could afford it, I don't know.
@@briarpatch720 My grandmother had a kindergarten named the Briar Patch in GA when I was young.
@@lynnhoffman247 that's cool.
it was a nickname my friends gave me back when I worked in the cutthroat corporate world in ref to the old Uncle Remis tale of Briar Rabbit living in the Briar Patch where everybody was ought to get him and he survived by his wits. that and the fact I live out in the country and am part Cherokee/Choctaw

You really need to listen to "Texas flood" live at El macambo by stevie Ray Vaughan
He already did it.
@@minigirl6379 lol yup, I noticed thst about 5 mins after I posted this🤣
Now listen to the original written by Memphis Minnie and Joe McCoy from 1929.
Enjoy your channel, but you may want to react to the studio versions of these classic songs without the fan made garbage videos.
That's the blues brother! Underage girl😢
Ok...love the song HATE the weird homemade video.
The reference to the Hindenberg is a joke. Led Zeppelin name came from being told they would not succeed and go down like a Lead Balloon.
Have you checked out ant Beatles?
Yes but they get blocked everytime. Just been listening outside of CZcams.
@@POPE. Check out some of their music videos or live performances (especially the one from Australia).
I dont know about rock royalty but they were certainly a great covers band.
Covers band? Aint no way….
Their albums are littered with covers which they tried to pass off as their own. Since 1970 to practically today they have fought numerous court cases and made several out of court settlements.
@@brianshockledge3241 what’s their most famous song that was a cover they proclaimed as their own?
@@POPE. There's not one, really. There were lyrics lifted from old blues numbers that got them in some heat early on, {Whole Lotta Love and The Lemon song) namely, before Plant began writing more in-depth on his own. But the sound was something totally fresh and unique. Zeppelin had more originality in them than most bands.
@@POPE. Wow, you could take your pick Stairway to Heaven was an idea by the band Spirit somebody they played the same bill with before they were famous. Zeps first album only had two originals on it. As for the rest of the albums they either used somebody elses` music or lyrics and in some cases both. A prime example was It`s Nobody`s Fault But Mine a song by blind Willie Johnson Zep took the song dropped the It`s from the title and claimed it as their own.
Some of the songs challenged in court/settlements include
Babe I`m Gonna Leave You, Dazed And Confused, Communication Breakdown, Whole Lotta Love, The Lemon Song, Custard Pie, Since I`ve Been Loving You, In My Time Of Dying, Hats Off To Roy Harper, Bron-Y-Aur being just the tip of the iceberg. They even claimed old folk tunes like Black Mountain Side (credited to Page) and Gallows Pole. Granted they were great muscians but originality plays a part in rock royalty.
I don’t know WTF the Hindenburg is supposed to do with this song…terrible video. Soak it up again without the video 🎧
It was just showing a Zeppelin...yes nothing to do with this particular song.
@@juliemanarin4127 I know the album had a picture of one on the cover, lol…I just think this video was awful. 🤷🏼♀️
@@lynnhoffman247 That was the Hindenburg going down on the cover of their first LP.
@@MsAppassionata Yes, I know…see my comment above ✌🏼
@@lynnhoffman247 I saw it but I wasn’t sure if you knew it was the actual Hindenburg in the photo.
You might consider Kashmir, their last great song, IMO.
Every song is great! There are a couple great albums after Physical Graffiti!
Well, the song was about another catastrophe about 8 years earlier.
I know it's not you POP but what's up with the video man...it has nothing to do with the song..it would've been better to show the album cover .
Listen there’s no equal to this band all physical, graffiti greatest album of all time
