Bless him, I suffered from Haglunds Deformity for over 15 years. I went through the exercises, rehab, injections, foot braces, insoles with no relief. The tendon would get so sore that even sheets in bed at night couldn’t touch it. Finally I found a Dr who would listen to me and agreed to do the surgery. That has been 10 years ago and i would do it again. The recovery was rough lasting 12 weeks which most was non weight bearing. A lot of rehab and home exercises to stretch the tendon. Now since I had limped so long, sometimes with a cane, my left knee has been replaced, the other one I will have replaced this fall. Also my hip will be replaced at a later date. I also suffer from sciatica. All because of a bump on my heel. Good luck to your patient, he is in good hands.

Suffered pain from Haglunds for many years. My tendon hurt so bad I could cry most days, I went through , injections, PT, exercises etc, Finally, Dr Wilson did my surgery , never had another problem.. He also repaired my achilles tendon after I tore it.

I have this exact issue but mine is a bit larger. The podiatrist I saw a few years ago went straight for the cortisone shot without explaining what it did or what the risks were. Then two weeks later wanted to do another shot. I had read that cortisone could deteriorate the tendon. So I asked him about it and he said it did. I told him that I didn't think that the shot was worth it and he laughed. Suffice it to say I didn't go back and he kind of put me off from going back to a podiatrist. I appreciate your video!

Can these go away on their own then come back years later? Had surgery scheduled about 2 years ago but the bump went away on its own and has popped back up about a week ago and I think this might be what I'm struggling with!
