The artifacts walking across screen from Dance of the Manse is probably my favorite animation I've ever seen on Game Knights
They're always amazing but HOLY that one was so creative!!!
I legitimitly had a disney movie vibe for a second.
Same it was both terrifying and adorable how they just new they had a job to do 🧐
I mean… Rakdos dance party is pretty amazing
Hands down god tier
Jimmy proliferating his own poison to earn a favor from Craig is the Ultimate Jimmy Wong Play.
definitely huge play, I was so confused because I forgot what Craig's Commander did
Rachel with an absolutely overwhelming board state “I am scared shitless of what is in Craig’s hand” 😂
One caress of phyrexia, and she'd have died on the spot. The fear is warranted.
That's the magic of Poison Counters. You can have such an impressive boardstate, but if you can't stop the counters from reaching 10, you're done.
To be fair, if anyone had a Urza ruinous blast they would have been saved.
And she should be.
Rachel made some EPIC plays this game! I'm so impressed. Saving herself by using Memory Jar on Jimmy's turn, then Goblin Welding for indestructible on that intervention was hilarious! Best episode ever.
She's going for best win-loss ratio on the channel, I think lol
She's an excellent player. She even told everyone Darksteel forge went to her graveyard as soon as it did, they just didn't pay attention or forgot.
Did goblin welder have haste?
@@HorizontallyGay I think Melissa DeTora has a 100% winning record from memory- but both Rachel and her are two of my favourite players. Their brains just seem to work differently from mine, so I’m always amazed by some of their plays.
Just a curious question and this might be dumb but, how was Rachel able to cast Walking Ballista for 8 in 54:56?
_"Our enemies shall cower at our feet, begging for salvation. We will show them no myrcy."_
_- Urtet, Remnant of Memenarch_
But then Josh showed myrcy twice and paid the ultimate price for it. Poetic justice, I love it
Myrrodin will besiege!
I see what you did there
The working class of Mirrodin will overcome. ^_^
Read this quote in the voice of Gilbert Gottfried please🤌🏻 This is the voice of all Myr
I LOVE the use of the Sorcerer's Apprentice and the animations when Josh cast Dance of the Manse! Genius editing and another amazing episode, great work guys!
I agree! Love those clever references!
JLK: So I'm playing Myr Tribal!
Also JLK: *Plays 5c good stuff value engine*
Let's be honest, when JLK builds a deck he literally just grabs all his best cards and puts them in a pile
Did he run myr turbine+arcane adaption+clock of omens+eldrazi or any huge creature
Love this show
The Dance of the Mance Fantasia Reference was GLORIOUS
YESS
Jimmy and Craig being bros. You love to see it
the walking cards at 1:01:40 are genius!
yeah especially in combination with the music!
In regards to Craig's fact or fiction piles, I think he made good ones. If the player casting Fact or Fiction is unhappy with the piles that's generally a good sign. Josh was being extra greedy imo, Elesh Norn hurt him the most and he was arguably still in first place in that position.
Right? It would be hard for me to deal with his pouting if i was in that game.
He wants everything to go for him and it bit him in the ass cause he lost most of his board.
I believe that Craig played the FoF perfectly. Josh was just salty and didn't get, in the moment, that it was best for Craig and Jimmy to let the Norn hit the field and deal with it later since it was a very bad situation for Josh. Greedy for the value creatures then helping himself out
Plus two lands is not nothing
@@wetballsack It is after you've drawn a million cards.
Agree to this 100%, it was super salty from him to even say it outright imo. Game goes to him if that happens. Craig and Jimmy would have been in the same spot.
jimmy: saves rachel from JLK
Rachel: attacks jimmy following turn
Jimmy: i REALLY need a way to deal with rachel......
Why did Jimmy not work out a deal when he saved Rachel he was just like I'm doing this
I don't know why he didn't see that coming. I honestly saw the game is over after rapid hybridization resolved
JLK also made a really poor choice. That's what you get for being greedy.
Yeah that actually bothered me so much I was rooting for anyone else but Rachel to win :-D Also the pity plays concerning Professional Face Breaker and Hangarback Walker came back to bite them hard.
Probably just made a suboptimal play to increase the length of the game for video purposes which I can't blame them for
40:42 Craig did the right choices. Josh just got mad he couldnt have his cake and eat it too.
Yeah, git gud Josh
I think Craig should have done the mud with the exile. It would have been good enough for Josh
Yeah at that point Josh is already snowballing, and the Elesh Norn would hurt him the most. He was just kind of a dick about it honesty. Like maybe talk about it first? But no he just took the pile and said “oh well. That’s your guys problem”.
@@BstFrmThEst ironically too, because it was a problem for him the most
Especially without saying anything. Sure sound bitter after popping off
Craig’s positivity near the end of the match where he was telling the audience that there’s always still something he could topdeck to clinch a win is something I really admire. I’ve played plenty of games where someone gets a problem enchantment turn 4, and another player rage quits. Like, you can always draw into something that helps. Stay positive!
That's true, although he didn't actually stay in the game long enough to be attacked for lethal by Rachel.
Mono-black and mono-red decks would like a world with you on that.
That Darksteel Forge play had the best fitting flavor text: "It is as if this world has been expecting our blessings." - Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite.
Okay, who ever did lighting this episode did an amazing job. Those interview chairs were super cool.
I suspect ladee danger is to blame.
yeems
It looks sick! Also has little bit of echoooo.
There is always something to improve on
@@alexyao95 What is that supposed to mean?
My favorite moment was when Elish Norn said "It's Norning time" and norned all over the boardstate
I like how this actually happened
Elvish Norm Macdonald
Which time?
its norning time 😭
Noo Elisha ses your suffering is at w end
1:03:20 I wonder what would've happened if Craig had waited until after Rachel declares her attackers to use his Teferi's Protection. Would it have saved Jimmy and Josh just enough to take her out?
Hahaha, I loved the cheriographed knock out of Jimmy and Josh! Glad Mr. Infect made it to phyrexia too.
Best death sequence ever by Jimmy and Josh. 👏👏
It's kind of my fault for looking in the comment section, but god damn spoilers :/
@@ethankunce9626 My bad…
Best spoiler. Half way through and had to find out that Josh doesn’t win so I can continue watching.
Craig's was great too!
@@catOwnerJB absolutely that was no disrespect to the “Lord of Infect”. ✌️😂
Lets be honest, if they did the phyrexia epsiode without craig, our disappointment would have been immeasurable, and our days would have been ruined.
That happened last game knights episode. Luckily they have redeemed themselves.
Oh yeah 100%
Wait.. wut
@@AngeloRosales64 the hell are you on about
@@kraxosOBK Game 59...
1:19:46 That cut to Craig saying ‘nothing’ in defeat is gold.
Best part of the video 100%
I still can’t be over the special effects at the beginning with them ‘transporting’ to new phyrexia XD it’s so good! Cant wait for the inevitable mother of machines episode!!!
Omg thx for bringing Craig back love him causing havoc on the field
Next thing you know if you play against him at 10 poison counters by turn 3
Ixhel + Duelist Heritage + Tainted Strike / Phyresis
Love the moment with that fact or fiction (I have yet to get through the whole game because I needed to say this)
Josh blaming the two people who aren’t effected by Norn for not helping him with dealing with it is hilarious to me
Especially when he still ultimately had the choice to take the answer. He just wanted to be greedy, lol.
Moments like this are precisely why I love FoF! It forces other players to actually look at the board state and often results in better threat assessment as a result- I find it doubly funny that in this specific scenario though that Josh, who is typically known to do deals and politic, chose not to make deals or politic in a position that was going to IMMEDIATELY benefit him. Oh well!
Was thinking the same thing. Got more of an eye roll from me than a chuckle though.
This might legitimately be one of the BEST episodes of Game Knights, EVER. Great editing, good decks, interesting gameplay, fun interactions, and a wonderful cast. Bravo, guys!! More like this!
I was thinking the same thing. Grabbing that forge out of the graveyard had my jaw dropped! Such an epic video. From beginning to end. 10/10
A really great episode, indeed - I just wish that Jimmy's deck had been allowed to pop off a bit more, he also had the same problem in other recent Game Knight episodes, sadly.
That Goblin Welder play has to be one of the best in the history of this series 😂😂😂
about the FoF matter:
JLK is on the lead at the moment, removal and attack decisions will be chosen according to hitting the leading player most often.
So in that regard, JLK can expect to have things coming his way and have to deal with them.
If he won't choose Crib Swap and suffer under Elesh Norn for a while, Rachel and he will be having beef a couple of turns, Craig and Jimmy can lay back a bit and draw their cards and spare resource for a come back.
In JLK's position at that moment, I would've taken Crib Swap
Stay in the lead as strong as you can.
I hate how he'll get so far ahead with these huge redundant engines and then get salty when people don't allow him to just keep doing it lol
I like the idea that as “mages” they just show up in new phyrexia and just decide to continue like nothing happened
just an average day in the life of a planeswalker
Josh always surprising us with ways to do the exact same thing every video with new cards lol
Really love Rachel's energy in the podcast episodes and Game Knights episodes. So glad that she joined the team!
Major props to all the behind the scenes crew. These episodes just keep getting better.
Glad to see Craig again! Love how his opening introduction is basically him going "You guys know I have a reputation, this set has my specialty, I knew I was gonna be here😎, I've *been* ready."
What a fun dude!
THE FANTASIA ANIMATION!!! Omg, this episode was amazing, great job everyone!
40:46 JLK crying like he’s so far behind at this moment is emblematic of every game he’s in.
Was lucky enough to pull a full art foil Chiss-Goria, Forge Tyrant. Loved watching this build run and so well piloted. Rachel def inspired me with some great ideas to build mine.
That was such a good game, but I really wanted Craig to win. Of all the sets, this was the set to win with infect. Hope the stars align once again in the future.
I love how heliod came down like "don't worry guys, I got this" then this one goblin goes "hey so I kinda turned your treasure vault into a dark steel forge...... Was that a good thing?"
Heliods magic rebounds, hits him in the face and he just stares at this goblin..... Dumbfounded going "da fauk"
The walking cards going after the dance of the Manse just made my day. Sooo funny. I just love your content
After reading Ixhel's story, I love her so much, so before I watch this video, I wanna say I'm rooting hard for her.
The Fact or Fiction at 41 was correct, I think. Even with the incoming Elesh, the value train is going too fast to feed into it. Josh was too far ahead to look like the good guy/hero.
Yup, it was entirely Josh's fault for the decision he made, can't pass the blame around when you make the choice. Only real exception would be if you are mana screwed and they put the answer in the pile WITHOUT your land.
Agreed. For 1 Josh still could've chosen it, and for two, Craig (wh he gave the split to) wasn't at that point as concerned with Elesh Norn specifically due to the toughness of his creatures, especially on Rachel's board vs Josh's who was spitting out tokens.
I just wanna take a moment and say that I loved the walking card animation from Dance of the Manse. Good job to whoever animated that. I loved it!
Loved seeing Chiss-Goria! Always been a fan of the furnace dragons lore wise and seeing one as a commander that actually won the game was really sick to see!
Great fact or fiction! You never help Josh. I've seen too many people lose because they helped Josh lol. Nothing but love Josh lol
He got sooo salty too like its cards in his deck if you don't like the choices don't put them in there.
Haha he could have taken the kill card, things woulda been fine. He was salty he couldn’t get it and a creature. XD
The special effects transportation to phyrexia was a super cool touch. Props to the editing team.
They were compleated for this special occasion
Love the audio editing too! That echo made it seem like the walls really had split apart.
50:45 Did Josh forget about artifacts being historic here? He cast the Arcane Signate and didn't draw off of Jhoira
Love seeing Rachel maneuver a board state each turn. Definitely some moments and choices that could have changed everything but sometimes you got to take the risk.
Craig and Jimmy are so incredibly wholesome! This is one of the best episodes of game knights I have seen in a long time.
Craig is always enjoyable to watch and Jimmy showed that you can still have impact on a game even if you are losing.
6:36 I'm gonna choose to believe that Craig asked for that joke to be thrown in there, because that was freaking gold!
damn shame ashley wasn't in this episode, no one does obnoxious ZENDIKAR nissa like she does
I think game knights is the most viewer friendly commander gameplay series on CZcams. Not too fast paced, they explain the cards, and they explain their reasoning for their choices.
The main reason why I don't watch Magic tournaments is because they usually don't zoom into the cards like this channel does, so I can't read what they do. If I actually wanted to follow, I'd have to hear the name of the card, pause the video to look it up, then remember what all of the cards are. It is so much easier following the game on this channel.
I don't think I have told you guys yet:
Adding Racheal to the team is amazing. She is one of my favorite MTG personalities. Right ahead of Jimmy, and right behind Josh. 😛
I think Jimmy might have been able to save the game by targeting Elesh Norn with Planar Incision.
It gets returned under it's owner's control (so Josh) and all of Rachel's creatures get -2/-2.
That wouldn't have helped Jimmy though because then he'd be trading one threat with high poison he had a shot of taking out with proliferate, with another threat with an even larger value engine and very little poison. And Elesh Norn would've still been there turning off his board.
@@TB317 Getting 1 turn is always better than getting 0.
@@gfkxj123 Yeah, I misremembered the turn this was referring to and agreed. 1 turn better than 0. Though I'm not sure even that would have saved him as Rachel seemed to still have more mana available and would have just dumped more into Mirror entity's ability for a higher base to make up for the damage and her commander would have been hitting him for at least 7 which is all he needed to die. It would have saved Josh though. He also probably should have let Josh draw off Esper Sentinel, haha.
Another thing was Craig phasing out before Rachael declared blockers. If he'd waited to cast the Teferi's protection until after she had declared attackers and all of those damage shenanigans had resolved, he might have spared some damage towards Jimmy or Josh, and then had a friend to help against Rachael.
People are right. Craig and Jimmy could have changed this game.
Favorite part was when Josh tried to save Jimmy and Craig from Rachel and Jimmy successfully stopped it!
Yeah it was really quite the play 🤣 worked out well for him, huh
tbf josh's board was getting out of hand and rachel happened to hit portal to phyrexia to deal with craig and jimmy at the same time.
lol, to be fair, as far as Jimmy knew Josh was really going to just save himself and whereas Rachel had high poison with seemingly no way to stop herself from being proliferated upon, Josh as a threat would have just been insurmountable for Jimmy as behind as he was.
Thats a really weird way to look at the threat assessment. Rachel goes unchecked -> the already incredibly ahead Josh gets reduced in power
Josh stops Rachel from getting Elish Norn -> the already incredibly ahead Josh continues to accelerate in terms of board state.
Jimmy tried to remove the one piece of the board state from Josh that would possibly prevent him from snowballing uncontrolled while already very behind due to multiple board wipe effects.
believe me i think jimmy had no choice because if he didn't josh would have done it again of just running away with it.
Rachel certainly knows what plays to make at the right times! Great game everyone.
I love the family-friendly atmosphere you guys put on combined with the professionalism while having fun. It really makes your show enjoyable to watch as a new MTG player.
2 Phyrexian episodes in a row and Mr. Infect is back... nice
Cool editing effects. These episodes are helping me understand commander and phases.
So much happens sometimes it gets confusing still.
The repercussions of that one small act of empathy by Josh. Look at the Facebreaker generating value all game :D
Wowie zowie, this was an AMAZING game! It was interactable and tense the entire time, there were tons of crazy cool plays and you never knew how a boardstate was gonna resolve until it was over. And the poison counters honestly were a huge boost to the stakes, even when Rachel had a huge lead it was impossible to say for sure if she could keep it because she was so close to getting poisoned to death. What an incredible episode.
If I see Rachel in the thumbnail, I know who is gonna win. I NEVER seen her lose. Absolute beast
She has lost once but yeah that's it so far
Because they always leave her alone for a majority of the episode.
@@WeebsUnite if jimmy’s and or Craig decks went faster then she would have probably been dead. Not sure tho
@@WeebsUnite I don't think that's the case really. Craig targeted her pretty early and she suffered from a few global things. Josh is actually the one they left alone long enough to set up.
@@TB317 they didn't leave him alone. He just kept blockers thanks to his instant speed interactions
Josh trying to blame the others for him not grabbing removal is ridiculous
One of these days Josh needs to play a life gain deck for the sole purpose of being able to afford all the life he likes to pay to his own cards. It would be terrifying!
6:29 perfect timing for an earthquake bit, Turkey must be loving it xD
Thank you so much for the flashing light warning. As a magic player with a seizure condition, these are seriously important and are truly appreciated. I will seek out a different Game Knights video. Thanks again!
the flashing is between 6.28 and 6.53 after that you are safe!
@@barryanagrande1830 Are you serious?? You did this for me?!?! This is just unbelievably kind. Thank you so very much
The Dance of the Mance animation is probably the best one the channel has made up to date.
This has to be one of my favorites. The game was so swingy at so many times. The production side of things on this episode was amazing. Great job guys!!
Best episode yet really enjoyed the swings in this game, great editing, a lot of humour and wholesome friendships while playing commander! Bravo!
I love going on my lunch and being treated to a perfectly timed Game Knights to watch.
Damn how long is your lunch break? 😂
@@tyleryoakum8350 only 30 minutes. Lol. Not enough time to watch the whole video, but as soon as a took my lunch they posted.
Ladee Danger literally brought the house down for this set design
The animation from when Dance of the Manse was played was fantastic! I loved the reference to Fantasia with the song that was playing in the background while the cards marched across the screen.
Man, another game where Jimmy's plan gets screwed and far behind. I love seeing when he can go off! It's so rare because he has such bad luck, and either never seems to draw enough removal or his board gets wiped too many times (as happened in this game)
Bro the studio looks INSANE!!!! Well done!
I was not expecting that Goblin Welder animation 😂
Jimmy: i think josh can help me get an answer
Josh: wanna pay for the 2? or do i draw a card
Jimmy: yeah why not
Haven’t seen Game Knights in a while. The effects are so amazing now! I absolutely loved seeing Josh’s artifacts walk out of his graveyard after that Dance of the Manse.
Ok that opening sequence was AMAZING. More importantly I kinda need to know where Jimmy got that jacket from lol
Good to see Game Knights turning into Archenemy: Josh Lee Kwai once again. Never gets old.
I love the production and the set design. Game Knights has really turned into it's own TV series really. It's so entertaining to watch
Best turn of the game!!! Heliod: "I bring a dawn that no night can follow."... followed by: Elesh Norn "It is as if this world has been expecting our blessings." Too bad JLK didn't expect it!
That Chiss-Goria deck performed really well. I think he’s a lot better than people are giving him credit for. Being able to dig 5 cards deep to cast any artifact each turn, including the turn he comes in, seems really powerful. And only costs 3 red to cast lol. Creating the treasures was a good idea to really up the affinity.
Provided you are able to get 6 artifacts into play, yeah. And there's definitely plenty of quick ways to get there so Chiss is really good.
Does affinity for artifacts also reduces the cost of other artifacts?
It's wild that it turned into a 3v1 and it didn't matter at all. Rachel it's an absolute powerhouse.
Wouldn't really say 3v1 when Jimmy decides to stop Josh from killing Rachel
@@strokedout6298 kinda stupid ngl 😆
Absolutly loved the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" part!
Rachel is quietly sneaking her way up becoming the player with the most wins on camera
Josh literally helped her on purpose so she did not get eliminated by craig at the beginning
I like how since Rachel has joined the cast she hardly ever losses a game 😂
idk kinda looks like she's been crying
Rachel is great. Love her decks.
You guys should definitely do a two vs two commander round. It would be so cool if you did that with home brew rules
Definitely loved this episode. Very good game and I loved all of the new cards that were played. I'm so in love with this set
That was an amazing game! I was at work watching it in pieces, and I couldn't wait to get back to it. I have something very similar to what Josh was playing.
Stumbled on this gem and saw jimmy Wong and after seeing vghs I knew this was going to be good
The interviews looked amazing this episode and just what an amazing game!! I love that everyone besides jimmy (sorry bud I was rooting for your deck though!!) had control at the game at one point! I loved this episode I'm so excited for this set love what y'all do!!
Josh and jimmy dying together was too perfect. Love these videos, keep getting better and better.
Geez, that game was so swingy !! And of course, those special effects were fantastic and that was a really cool setting, amazing episode =D
Skrelv turn one is always a funny thing to see because if he’s the commander, Skrelv can give Commander Damage, Poison and regular damage.
Also he’s cute little legendary mite
This is one of my all time favorite Game Knights episodes. So glad Rachel is on the team!
The animation for the sword dude. Awesome as always!!
I just got into magic a month ago and discovered this page today. Instantly Subbed. Amazing content!
jimmy and craig are basically one player and its hilarious
@@RegimentJoker ya but was the right play they where in the shit
I think you’re taking it too seriously BP, I’ve always taken the Mr Infect title tongue and cheek, and infect has never been a very strong strategy. Lighten up and try to have fun
@bp5309 JLKs method of deck building is just putting all his best value pieces into a single deck which always leads to him becoming archenemy and getting targeted to death (because he never has any protection in his decks) or not doing anything at all
Rachel with the Darksteel Forge was pure 🔥
I'd like that double knockout scene a lot. Love you guys, Command zone.
Craig's "I thought we agreed not to play land destruction!" was such an underrated joke tbh
