So I've only played the Original game back in 2002. It was very badly reviewed but I picked it up anyway. The gameplay was awkward and janky, but the fun came from keeping the beat counter going by shooting the environment between groups of enemies. It became more of a puzzle game to get the S rank for each mission.
I got both them oldy feel games evil west and gun grave and they both feel like the good ol days
Picking up both of them today . Even though am currently playing GOD of war and MW2
Combat has some like tekken 4 edm rock type beat and I live for that
This and Evil West are must plays. Both are throwbacks to the good old days.
The fact that Evil West shares a release date with thos game is a heavy dose of bad luck.
I've been waiting for this game since the summer of 2020...
Unfortunately, most gamers will sleep on this game.
I suspect that this title will become a cult-classic, slowly gaining momentum over time...
@@michaelschneider1365 Unfortunately, most mainstream gamers care. Gungrave had very little investment in terms of advertising. Unless the sales numbers reflect a sizeable windfall, this studio won't be able to deliver a follow-up. I ordered 2 copies months ago. I always try to support the smaller studios, especially the developers who embrace the oddball ideas that made gaming so exciting during the Xbox 360/PS3 console generation...
Glad to see somebody knows how to play this! I think a lot of the mediocre review scores came from people not knowing how to play it.
I'm a huge nerd when it comes to games and being played right while having a lot of fun too :D
This and evil West aren’t going to break new ground. But I think that’s intentional, games like this are what you play in between either story driven games or Souls Like games and you just want to have fun. Nothing wrong with that.
I argue that in this day and age, where it seems that a lot of games are so dependent on Multiple Pathways and/or Open-World ranges, Meaningless Mollectables, Skilltrees bigger than Kanghas Khan's lineage, and Story that eclipses what is supposed to be Gameplay, GGG and EW might as well be the new Sliced Bread.
I think you can coffin the slash attack. They said in the developer interview that it would stop certain boss attacks.
This game is on Xbox GamePass for PC
Wait death, I didn't see anything, right Social.
This looks really cool, and i know people prolly will not get this at all but for some really weird reason especially some of the cut scenes and character designs i thought of cowboy bebop lol.
Yeah this new art style for the series gives it that bebop look especially for bunji. Highly recommend the anime if you can find it 😂 give alot of background on grave, bunji, and Mika. It spans nearly 50 years I believe; from the origin of Brandon Heat (grave before he died) and Harry for the first half, with the second being the birth of grave and his war against the mafia.
@@nightmareman9960 I'm just glad I'm not the only one to feel this way haha
literally just started playing this game, didnt even know about it until an hour or two ago. omg how have i never even heard of this franchise??? love everything about it already
Highly recommend the original games and even more so the anime if you want even more background lore for grave, bunji, and Mika. I’ve put a good few hour into the game and I like but absolutely fkin hate it at the same time. Half of the levels in the game doesn’t seem like they we’re play tested at all.
Stage 1 of scumland inner for example is so infuriating seeing that you get stun locked and knocked down by everything, plus your on a timer so you can’t just take your time picking off all the bullet sponges. So you can’t kill the enemies and you can’t just run past so the one and only way I’ve been able to pass this mission was to misuse the rage system to become immune to knockdown for a brief period.
Another and the one I’m currently stuck on Is the arena in Hong Kong stage 3. They just throw so many stun lockers (shotgunners, shields, rocket troopers) at you at once while minigunners chip away at your health in a room with no cover. Demo and rage don’t do enough damage to out kill all the enemies and human shield just instantly die so what’s the point.
Been trying that one for about 3 hrs with no luck so I think I’m done for the day
@@nightmareman9960 I just got past that damned train level... That final stretch omg
I was gonna say this game looks easy then you jump cut to having almost no HP
4 minutes into the video and I'm just sitting here.... wondering how these games never get into my ear til the last minute.... this is quite nice!
Edit: And by quite nice I mean a banger.
Edit2: I wouldn't mind some videos of this game if you make time for it.
Vi
This is one review where the player actually had fun with the game.
Apparently this and Evil West are complete fails. You're the only one I've seen give it a good review.
I think if you know what you are getting and not expecting something else, both can be great games.
I'm getting them both today, but the gameplay looks fantastic for both! Sure, no game is a perfect 10, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying games that are titled 7 to 8/10 if you're having a lot of fun.
That's not how you use "slaps" 😂😂😂😂. The only thing that ever slaps is music, not games, not food, nothing else. The term originated in the Bay Area, Northern California and people up here are tired of yall butchering our regional slang 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ 🛑
