Really makes one appreciate Bruno Silva’s chin. He ate 2 left hooks from Pereira, clean to the chin, and while he got wobbled, he did not got slept. We’re talking 4’ gloves as well. Crazy chin on Bruno Silva.

Pereira trains with Glover. He'll probably have great TD defense.
Not in that short space of time it takes years, he may be good but in a fight under pressure mistakes are made because its not yet instinct, it can't be!
TD defense is way easier to master, and he has a great teacher for that. Izzy was coming out of a KB gym and still managed to get at an elite level for TD defense. Offensive wrestling is the one that needs a lot of time.

The real danger is Alex’s kicks. Strickland can negate them by pressuring him with the take down, they don’t need to be successful, but that pressure has to be there

Sean needs to disguise his take downs with strikes making Alex believe he's comfortable striking which will allow Sean to get in there and get the takedown. Once he has the threat of the takedown established he might be able to actually strike a bit. If not Sean's getting fcked up

Pereira is making progress fast in his takedown defence and in the grappling department.
I'm very curious to see how Strickland will approach him and if he can cancel his takedown attempts.
I think Strickland has a path to victory on the feet he just has to approach it in a smart way. Go for takedowns early and get him thinking about it. Then feint the takedown and get him reacting which will lower his hands and give you some shots. This should also get him backpedaling so use that to get him against the fence then bang at close range with his back against the fence so he can't pop out and use that reach advantage against you. With that said we all have a plan til we catch a right cross to the grill lol.

Pereira has power, range and speed on the same punch. it's unbelievable
A lot of people equate punching power with big muscles. In reality most of these guys are lean and have a very large ape index (really long arms in relation to their height), once you get those things moving you can generate a lot of speed and power at the end of it. It's like swinging a polearm at someone. If you're very short and stocky, even if you're built like a tank, there's only so much time you have to accelerate those arms to max velocity.

The real reason is not related to reach its not depends on how much muscle you have
But it's depends which type of muscles you have
Slow twitch or fast twitch
Basically human body posses these two type of muscle fibres and Evey human have different percentage of that like someone has 60% fast twitch with 40% slow twitch and other have 70% slow twitch with 30% fast twitch
Fast twitch use more energy generates more power but for short time after that they exhausted
And slow twitch use less energy generates less power for long time and have longer endurance
More fast twitch = more strength less cardio
More slow twitch = more cardio less strength
And you can improve your punching power by explosive training only a little bit
And you cant achive immense cardio even after training hours
I'll give you eg. Like Conor has amazing punching power but head weak cardio
While Colby Covington has crazy cardio but very weak punching power
And don't think Colby not trains for power
Offcourse he did but he not able to improve it because his genetics
And same for Conor, Conor definitely trains for cardio but he not able to improve ite bcz his genetics and muscle fibre are more fast twitched
And there is very few case of amazing genetics have balanced of both like kamaru usman, Alex Pereira and Poirier also have pretty balanced ratio of fibres
