Music video by The Cure performing Mint Car. (C) 1996 Polydor Ltd. (UK) - Hudba
I dedicate this song to a person who's not on this planet anymore, and he loved the Cure. He will be forever in my heart.
💀
My condolences for your heavy loss. But don't dedicate songs you haven't written or performed. That's very disrespectful and pretentious
Okkvltify disrespectful? Cover bands often dedicate songs to people.
@@jackormonroyd and I find that disrespectful too. But at least those bands do their own Performance. But just dedicate a song, not written, not played, not even posted in your own... That's pretentious.
@@Okkvltify well, I'm not a musician so I can't dedicate any song by any artist in the world, I'm not a poet so I cannot read any poem from anybody but me, I'm not a painter so I cannot dedicate a paint or a drawing made by someone's. So, this man and I sang The Cure because we both loved them, this reminds me of our happy moments together, so is it forbidden because I didn't write it? Disrespectful?
I really can’t understand why “Wild Mood Swings” is considered a mediocre album. This song is like the second part of Friday I’m in love, same happy energy
You answered your question already. Happy energy is not what most fans want to hear from The Cure, the former kings of goth. You may think different, and so does Robert Smith. And that's fine. But most fans would not agree, so that's why this album is dismissed by many fans, including me.
@@Okkvltify this should apply also to older songs like Lovecats, The Caterpillar etc. Robert has always mixed up sadness and cheerfulness, “Boys don’t cry” being the manifesto of this powerful mix. I am not here to judge what people like or dislike about the Cure, I just find a little odd to blame Cure’s funny side which is canon from the very beginning.
@@alanelettronico that's a point for sure. However, as you say, there was a MIX of sadness and joy in their post Pornography era, but on WMS it was little to none sadness in the music. At least, it seems, in the eyes and ears of most fans. I don't think it is a bad album, but I have to admit I would like it more if it wasnt a Cure album. Probably it would have been more accepted if it had been released as a Robert Smith solo record.
The songs just don't hit the same way, they lack the sort of pensive emotional complexity that made the Cure's signature sound. The 90's were grungy, gloomy, edgy - lots of bands inspired by The Cure like Smashing Pumpkins managed to re-brand what had made The Cure so popular - Pumpkin's "Mayonaise" is basically a 90's version of "Pictures of You". The Cure became irrelevant, and they should have embraced that harder rather than trying to hold onto mainstream appeal. It's not that Smith couldn't write tenderly anymore, the verse sections of "The 13th" could have come right out of Disintegration - the insane chorus is a mood whiplash and maybe seems just a bit out-of-touch in the way aging rock bands can be. I think if you ignore the context there's a lot of fun to be had.
Too cheerful for Emos.
I love how Robert cries at the end as if "oh no this song was too happy for a Cure song, I got to be sad at the end for no reason to balance things out"
or maybe because he was just so shy he covered his face😛😛😛😛😛
He's shy that's why
😭😂😂😂😂
i love the giddy, head-over-heels feeling of happiness in this song. indeed this is what i always love about the cure- their ability to express a certain feeling so vibrantly, whether it be joy, gloom, fear, loneliness etc. they are the masters of musical emotion.
ps robert smith is simply wonderful.
listening to this music on a sunny day in the park is the best feeling ever, giddy, head-over-heels is the best desription of this kind of music nice one mate
Played this at my wedding, just the happiest song I could think of.
B 52's is amagliny happy too. 😎💜
We did too! Walked down the aisle to it
@@karlylisette1 Great choice! Welcome to the "married to the cure" club.
I wish I had gone with this song for my wedding
Congratulations! Nine years late to the party, but I still mean it sincerely.
Wild Mood Swings is a very underrated album. It has excellent, colorful orchestration, creative melodies, and some of Smith's best lyric writing; it took me years to really appreciate how great this album is because it's so different, but now I think it's one of their best.
I agree :)
この先一生、手放すことなく聞きたい作品集です。
agree
Wild Mood Swings suffers from lack of coherence and consistency. It goes in all directions without really taking you anywhere, much like the Kiss me album. That, i my opinion, is what makes those albums weaker.
I love it
I´ve been a Cure fan since about 1985 and I never really paid any attention to Roberts´ looks, but he was actually a very handsome man
Back in 79 when they started he was a clean cut bloke. Crew cut hair style. The 80s music scene changed him. Grew in to a more post punk goth look. Never really seen Cure as goth though. I understand they had to go with the flow to get attention. Started with Elvis Presley shaking his hips and knees. They wldnt Eben allow him to b filmed below the waist. Nowadays in 2024...gotta dress like a hooker and sing about how wet ones pussy gets. Just amazing how far downhill things hv turned. The Cure though hv never bn gross, disparaging. Just great musicians. Some some are happy like this one. Ithers...make one contemplate suicide 😅
I just get an instant bubbly feeling everytime I hear this song. Such summery, sweet, solid feeling.
this and friday i'm in love
I imagine I'm running in the morning with the warm sunshine...and the breeze sweep my hairs lol
@@mezykinimo this is wayyy catchier than friday im in love
i cant explain how happy this song makes me feel
I want my life to be a video of the cure
Juuzou Natalie same here it would be lovely
Lullaby
jo lol
I want it too
the hanging garden... yes lol
Wild Mood Swings is totally and criminally underrated album
the b sides are better, that record is a crime
the best band of the world .
Na fam
@@jackoneill5203 who is in your opinion
Yes.
Yess
the guitar solo that kicks in at 1.35 is utter, utter, joy. One of only a few songs that can immediately lift your mood and from a band that was synonymous with the early goths. Such a beautiful contradiction from one of the best British bands ever.
i really don't think it gets any better than this!!!
ah, vanilla smile and a strawberry kiss
I just can't stop shaking my head every time I hear this tune on the radio in my car. Great song from The Cure! :D
The same happen to me lol
This is the song that got me into The Cure. Heard it in January 1996 and by the end of the month I'd bought ecery Cure album on CD. I dont understand why Wild Mood Swings is dismissed by so many. Its massively underrated to the point the band doesn't even have it on Spotify.
He's so lovely looking omg
Lucy Manley I think he turned me gay
i think i'm gay now
What a sad thing to say, someone is lovely looking lol
well he does have a lot of fake up on!!
The bridge, where he just is looking into the camera like a goddamned star, so wonderful.
this was my first cure video when i was 12, i had the initial impression they were a britpop band in the vein of oasis and blur. oh how bloody wrong i was...
Very!
i was listening to this on the radio this morning. made me forget i was heading off to work for a moment. :D
"the sun is up, i'm so happy i could scream..."
+Suzy Nails jejeej,.seeeee "vainilla smile and a gorgeous strawberry kiss!!" jajaajaj
this song never fails to make me smile :)
Something about that little guitar riff at 2:43 really gets to me
Only just discovered this song
I have now listened to it about 30 times...now one of my fav cure tracks❤❤😊
Tenía mucho que no la escuchaba pero me encanta, cuando están en la fiesta me fascina esa parte no se cómo describirlo, escucha más a the cure tiene muy buenas canciones 👍
This song my wife did not let me sing at our wedding ... but on our honeymoon at 7am put it and sing it waking up to all the people of the hotel
SALUDOS DESDE BOGOTÁ.
edison montañez silva this is such a beautiful choice para su boda! So happy, uplifting and infectious! Your wife needs un educacion en la musica!
My final Cure record.
Same. I even tried to get my money refunded for _Bloodflowers_ , but Best Buy wouldn’t. Left it on the counter and walked away. Still my favorite band in the world and the only concert I’ve ever been to was a Cure concert in 1992.
A girl showed me this song few years ago and I loved it; This song always reminds me of her. Everytime I listen to this song it brings me back so many memories of the good days we spent together.
This song makes me so happy everytime I listen it
I wouldn't say that it's a "crystal-clear" happy song! I think that it has the Cure's classic feeling, the feeling of the "sweet happy sadness" or "sad hapiness"!
Exactly. That's the appeal of the Cure.
Seems like it's just plainly happy to me, not that there's anything wrong with that.
Oh that takes me back to happy days. However long we live as humanity, we owe Robert Smith and the Cure so much for giving the world this absolutely perfect piece of magic. It isn't just music, its meaning transcends sound.
Not ashamed to say this joyous album got me into The Cure. Often feel I have to defend it. Nice to see other lovers here.
Me too! The 13th video got me into them and this was my first album.
@@Cureboy1 try True the cure, pornography, bloodflowers, Faith, disintegration
lo fascinante de the cure es como transforma su musica sin cambiar su imagen de banda "gotica"...simplemente lo mejor ..
The sun is up, I'm so happy I could scream
And there's nowhere else in the world I'd rather be
An' here with you it's perfect, it's all I ever wanted
Oh I almost can't believe that it's for real
So pinch me quick
I really don't think it gets any better than this
Vanilla smile and a gorgeous strawberry kiss
Birds sing, we swing, clouds drift by
And everything is like a dream
It's everything I wished
Never guessed it got this good
Wondered if it ever would
Really didn't think it could
Do it again, I know we should
The sun is up, I'm so fizzy I could burst
You went through me headfirst
Into this is perfect, it's all I ever wanted
Oh, it feels so big it almost hurts
Never guessed it got this good
Wondered if it ever would
Really didn't think it could
Do it some more, I know we should
Say it will always be like this
The two of us together
It will always be like this
Forever and ever and ever
Never guessed it got this good
Wondered if it ever would
Really didn't think it could
Do it all the time, I know that we should

Billy MacKenzie in that mop-top wig 🤩
such a unique glorious voice on top of a typically joyous cure melody.
This cured the depression I got from listening to Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornography, Disintergration and Bloodflower all in one day... I love the Cure
It cured it cuz it's called the cure.
You really dig deep in depression don't you my guy?
There's no doubt that they get gayer as time goes on.
They were trying something new with this album.
They're The Cure and the disease
I dont get this track with only 600k views.....THat song is pure love poetry....so sweet...and great!!!
this is my happy song. makes me feel so cheerful!
when it closed up on robert smith i noticed that he has amazing green eyes...
I totally love every outfit Robert wears in this video. This guy is the best.
Man, if I could upvote this everytime i watch it
Will forever be my favorite Cure song ❤️
One of the BEST songs by The Cure!
One of the best songs I've ever heard :)
I love this song and always have, but never seen the video till now.
Blimey, Roberts and absolute beauty at the end when he looks directly into the camera! Weak at the knees : )
Say it will always be like this...
The two of us together...
It will always be like this...
Forever and ever...
Priceless sweetest lyrics, no other than Robert Smith could do that. :))
only the cure can make such a transition from dark, brooding songs to happy songs.
Siouxsie released Kiss Them for Me and Oh Baby. Cocteau Twins released Sugar Hiccup the very next album after Garlands, and still sounded dark on some songs after they invented dream pop. It is possible to be complex and do both.
When I saw Billy Mackenzie, all I could think about was "Club Country". An amazing singer that is missed.
Cure song titles are so random. Half the time my brain just plain refuses to make the connection between the song and the title - it's pretty much guaranteed next time I come across this, I'll be like "Mint car - don't know that one." [click] "Wait, no, I definitely do" [weird sense of Deja Vu]
Ralph Pickering same here😂
i actually like the title more than the song 😂
I love this man. Protect him at all costs.
My second favorite cure song. And WMS is a great album.
Always makes me smile seeing Mark in this video, love you Mark, miss you x
