The time stone that Joe got from Damien was something I had almost forgotten about, but I guess it good, joe put it away for safe keeping.
I always wonder what happened to it but damn they pretty much waited since Armageddon to bring the time stone back to relevane again
The burst of red energy from Thawne, kinda reminded me of that scene from WandaVision, where Wanda expanded her Hex, to save Vision.
I think this episode was really solid honestly. It felt like it wrapped all up the loose ends set up throughout the season just like a finale should. Tinya and her mother, Joe with the time stone and Iris escaping her time sickness, Cecil’s storyline and how the forces came back (and how she got those powers), Barry stealing thawne’s speed at the end of Armageddon, the frost resurrection stuff, pretty much everything important was resolved here.
It did wrap up everything but done poorly. I’m honestly just mad they gave Iris a decently death then brought her back 1 episode later
It felt like a power rangers episode. You would never see S1 Thawne or spouting this cartoony dialogue out. Go back and watch how he talks, The E-X/Armagedon Thawne is a remenant or version of the OG Thawne, yet he acts so different. That was bad tbh, if this episode was the s3 finale or the s4 everyone would talk about how its terrible.

I like how the ending showed us what happened during the "original?" Armageddon. My issues with the finale is Damian Dhark being teased as the huge jaw dropping moment by Cecile's actress, a moment the audience should have seen happen due to the in hindesight in your face clues the season set up. The other bit of the finale is the new Frost being set up being confused who she was, you would think in what was supposed to be the series finale of the show. And Agreed Pagey on what Danielle said, she should have never said that especially given with what happened with super man and lois

I like Cecile as a character so I didn’t mind the role she played, I’ve always felt like the later seasons of the flash poorly handled the supporting characters since Cisco left. I’m happy to see them actually doing something for once honestly.

The cameo was a little bit disappointing, but overall one of the best finales in a long time. The effects looked amazing in this episode as well. After seeing this finale I would give the season a 7/10. Not bad, but definitely room to improve.

The finale was dope af....it was apart of three year plan, seasons 6,7 & 8. Now season 9 should focus on a new story. The cliffhanger with the blue crystal in 2049 should be hinting at Cobalt Blue....now the Negative SpeedForce must choose a new avatar which will probably be Rick Cosnett who will end up being Malcolm Thawne or some iteration of him. Matt should be back too....to get a Reverse-Flash origin story! Caitlin should've never went inside of the CRC, now she's somebody totally different...I feel like it's Killer Frost or Frost but she's obviously not sure of who she is. She could possibly not have no memories of ever being Caitlin Snow. Barry and Thawne both using their forces was lit af especially with thawne using the sage force tentacles and still force to drag a vintage airplane out of nowhere and Barry using the strength force and the sage force. Barr and thawne were practically creating Armageddon 2...but Barry ended up resetting the timeline fixing everything reversing the chaos. But Barry resetting time can have ramifications....like whatever happened to Caitlin while in the CRC and a new avatar harnessing the Negative SpeedForce.

It would seem that Bloodwork and Cobalt Blue will be the main villains of next season. The canon comic that Pagey mentioned, had a cliffhanger where Bloodwork escaped, and it stated: “To Be Continued in Season 9 of The Flash”
Many are speculating that the Negative Forces will choose Bloodwork as their next avatar, and they will transform him into the Red Death. I guess that kinda make sense, and it’s a good way to avoid the Bruce Wayne connection. Though I still wonder how Cobalt Blue will play into the Negative Forces storyline
Why does Cobalt Blue have to connect with the Negative Forces storyline? If Bloodwork is their next avatar and becomes Red Death then maybe Cobalt Blue if that was what was teased is the villain of the following graphic novel. Or maybe he's the first graphic novel and Bloodwork as Red Death is the 2nd or 3rd graphic novel. I bring up the option of a 3rd since we got 3 this season, so maybe the 3 villains are Killer Frost, Bloodwork as Red Death, and Cobalt Blue (not necessarily in that order).

@@aannggee11 I don't think Thawne will be a villain in S9. Maybe in S10 or S11, but I'm pretty sure they've decided to shelf him for S9, which is probably a wise decision as having a villain appearing 2 seasons in a row for 3 story arcs is probably not a good idea.
@@TheLastGuardian30 indeed, but they might decide to play on our expectations of that and throw us for a loop and have him be unconnected to the Negative Speedforce at least directly. Maybe he could be a result of Crisis or some other villains actions or something else entirely.
Anyways I just think if the other person was right about Bloodwork becoming Red Death via the Negative Speedforce then it probably won't have 2 avatars in the same season as it would feel rather weak to use the same catalyst for a villain twice in the same season.

When Barry was meditating, my thought was that he tapped into the Forever Force and changed the timeline cutting out Thawne. The finale was WAY more hyped than it was good, but it was okay for Flash. Oh, and when the forces turned into particles all I could think was GO GO POWER RANGERS. Barry is the Megazord now!

In regard to cecils storyline, I agree they could’ve streamlined the setting up of it in previous episodes and not spent so much time on it. I was very concerned going into the finale that what they had set up was gonna be something silly like Cecil was the one that ended up defeating reverse flash, so I was actually happy with how it was handled it really wasn’t a big part of the finale in itself and not much time was spent on it but it made sense within the story.
A great Season 8 Finale of The Flash !!! “Negative, Part Two.” the 1st half was good but the 2nd half amazing. Really can't wait for Season 9 of The Flash next year in mid 2023.
Maybe Eddie went into the future when he went into the Singularity and has been living there with amnesia. They definitely made it a point for Eddie to meet Nora and Bart in the past so that maybe bumping into them in 2049 sparks his memory...kinda like what happened to Eboard. Only this time he would be angry to see the life Iris had with Barry. Jealousy leads to hate.
I definitely agree that the cameo was quite disappointing. When I watched the episode live, I saw the credits and saw the actors name, which obviously spoiled it, but I was like “Ok he is here and I didn’t expect him”. But then as the episode continued, I slowly realized that he was the “big and unpredictable cameo”. Unpredictable: maybe. Big: absolutely not. As for the teases, I am definitely intrigued and I really hope the blue crystal is actually the character we all have wanted on the show

I actually liked Neal's appearance. To be honest, my mouth did drop because of how they did it. I wanted a bigger cameo for sure but i enjoyed what he did.
Barry straight up pulls a Luke Skywalker move where attacks go through him while he's meditating lol.
Also if Season 9 turns out to have Cobalt Blue as the BIG BAD.... Then Season 9 will most definitely be the final season of The Flash and the story/ production and everything else must be at top quality otherwise waiting forever to use Cobalt Blue and the season being a failure will just destroy The Flash series as a whole. I HOPE they get Cobalt Blue completely right and well done.

No it’s not the last as Tom Cavanagh said in an interview. It all depends rather the show can go onto a season 10. If S9 is the last of the show then expect to see Eobard again. Since the cobalt blue stone has been teased. There’s a good chance that Eddie Thawne returns. Then in which it gives an origin to Matt Letscher’s Eobard Thawne.

I think that making Cecile such a pivotal role in bringing forces didn't make much sense and she just gave power to Bashir.. was that all the boost all the forces needed. I actually think that iris reigniting the spark rejuvenating the forces would make much more sense since they're all connected and it makes sense

I really hope they end the whole series with one last run with Barry going into the future and taking Eobard’s chance to be a hero and thus causing him to travel back to his old house from season 1.
However, since Nora said that Eobard is no longer in the Timeline that makes me question whether that’ll happen or not. Really hope it does it’s the perfect ending for the show.

No. This Thawne time reminent was s1 Thawne recreated and getting the full power of the Forces for himself to defeat Barry. This was their "final" battle.
And true to his original nature s1 Thawne AGAIN chose his ego over everything else (pushed the date of the accelerator explosion up YEARS rather than wait for it to happen as it should because he simply could not wait) and his ego destroyed him.
The negative Forces are NOT going to recreate s1 Thawne again after all this

So, flash season 10 takes place in real life 2024 as well. But since that crisis episode is done that's, we need to wait and see
Sadly I don’t think that the Blue gem teased at the end was on fire. If you look closely the “flame” was actually the reflection of the gem in the glass case because you can see the arms of the whatever is being used to hold it reflected as well.
Side note, it is pretty clear based on the lead up to that tease that the new Avatar is going to be Avery Ho. They set her up to work at Fast Track. The intro to that scene showed a lab, and the year 2049 giving the connection to the kids who met her in 2014. I hope I’m wrong because Avery Ho has a negative speed for avatar villain would be so underwhelming for the final season, but that’s the only thing I can think of. Also the VFX in the episode were some of the worst I’ve seen from this show in 8 years. Side by side comparison of the Superman and Lois VFX and it makes you wonder just how small of a budget the Flash now has.
The prediction that I made last season was a bit "early" but it happened in this episode in season 8 where Barry was able to use all three of the other forces along with his speed and it was really awesome to see along with the reverse flash being overpowered as well. ⚡

Honestly I liked most of the episode even the Cecile parts. What I didn't like all that much was that the ending of the climactic battle felt rather anti-climactic with Barry going pacifist like that at the end of it.
Also I'm sick and tired of the "We are the Flash" crap even if they no longer say that anymore. I get it Barry and Iris are married, but this whole "We are the Flash"/you're my lightning rod crap needs to stop completely. It's been overdone in previous seasons so even if they don't do it all that much anymore, it still feels bad/forced.
Oh yeah you liked the part where Cecile mentioned she could feel Barry's anger after his wife just got murdered right in front of him. Lmao what a fucking joke you can't be older than 14 surely.

Id personally swap 2 & 1, Flash finale was way more exciting and tied up a lot of loose ends. Lowkey, the Flash managed to decently handle 3 stories, while S&L dragged out 1. Flash won this round for me.

I enjoyed this season overall, for the most part. Probably more than I did season 7. Armageddon was especially fun for me.
I think Thawne might be gone for good this time, and while that does make me sad (he's my favourite Arrowverse villain), I think it's fitting that he ultimately destroyed himself in his quest to destroy Barry.
I don't know the fans overall opinion on Deon, but as I've said before, he has become one of my favourite characters. I think Christian Magby's portrayal of the character has resonated well with me, and I think he did the best at portraying the "Negative" force as well. I hope we get to see more of him (and the other forces) in season 9.
Let's hope season 9 is a good one.

I kind of hope that if & when Flash does end, that it's a Time Loop & we get to see Flash & Matt's Reverse Flash have their final battle together which results in Nora being killed like how the show began. And the newspaper did say that happened in 2024 & we're getting close to 2024.

If season 9 is the end it can’t end with Reverse Flash going back in time to start season 1 events because it’s a different timeline from when it happen.

I thought that this Finale was Amazing! But it lacked a lot of potential for Reverse Flash's character. This is mostly because we only see Thawne use the powers of the negative speed force. This was something he couldn't control! As in the beginning he was sent somewhere else with the dark forces. I would've also loved to see Thawne actually kill in this finale instead of using electricity to stun them down. I am trying to say I would love to see the Reverse Flash vibrating his hand through some of the character's hearts. Just Like in season 1. I was not really a big fan of Reverse Flash using his lightning to basically fly like superman. I just wanted to see an epic speed battle to the death, just like the finale of season 1 where Thawne was fighting Barry. Either way I loved this episode it was definitely better than season 6 and 7. I loved that they had Iris's character arc reflect on the past. I also thought that the Damion cameo was fantastic, yet again this is just my bias. And there may be a lot of other fans who disagree with me. Or agree with me. All I can really say is I recommend watching this finale for yourself first before watching this video.
We already saw Damien Darhk this season. That really made the cameo hype kind of underwhelming. I wished they brought back the good Eobard after fixing everything. It was fun to see a good Eobard actually helping Barry. I felt bad for Meena's character losing who she loved when everyone else got a happy ending.

IDK Damian Dhark is my favorite villain / not villain from ArrowVerse.
I even liked what they did with Superman & Lois having the show set on another show, to me that makes it more interesting and I think it's a good idea and that way it can be it's own thing. Can't wait for season 3 of Superman. I'm happy with both finales.
I hope one day we will see a version of Red Death maybe he can be the series finale villain.
Also I like how Cecile reads other people's minds without telling them guess there is no such thing as privacy in this world with her lol.
My headcanon theory is that we were supposed to get red death this season but because warner bros is not letting literally everyone using major batman characters like red death and the other evil batmen from the dark multiverse. The flash writers changed it last minute so that post crisis eobard thawne in his new black costume became the final villain instead.

It was on of my favorite seasons honestly, I am curious because of what (Mystery Kait) said at the end "A Friend, I think?" If it is killer frost I wonder if there's gonna be a sort of duality to her or what because as you said Pagey, if she was just Killer Frost and was evil right off, I would have thought she would have just killed Chill Blain and like walked out of the pod. VERY curious to see where this is going, I really kinda feel like Daniel may have overstated though because, given that scene, I have NO idea where this character is going...
12:06 i really do like the addition of bart (and jordan fisher who brings so much to the role) on the show. i think it's one of the best improvements of the show. just because he's in it, if only slightly, i'd give this season a 8-9/10

I just want booster gold and blue beetle in season 9. They don't need to be series regulars or even recurring characters. . . I just think it would be a fun way to tie into the future and maybe even the flash museum.

I really enjoyed this finale!! Even though it was cool to see Damian Dark again, I’m definitely bummed he was the “ Big Cameo”. The actress that playes Cecile definitely over hyped it too much. Seeing both Barry and Thawne going into that “ god” leveled up mode was the most insane and coolest thing I’ve ever seen done on the Show!! I’m very interested and excited for what comes next in season 9 for Caitlin and Cecile!! I still can’t believe Jessie L. Martin will be leaving the show!! I’m very grateful he will have a few appearances left for season 9. I totally respect Carlos Valdez wanted to move on and do other things but I truly think it was a crime He didn’t come back for at least one cameo scene during season 8. I definitely hope he does for season 9!!! I also had a good laugh from Bart’s joke about Thawne’s new suit!🤣I’m very excited and curious to see who will become the next avatar for the negative forces!! I over all really enjoyed season 8!! For me personally season 8 is my 2nd favourite season of the whole show!! I can’t wait to binge watch season 8 once it’s on Netflix at the end of next week!! It will be strange to have no new episodes for a good while but I’m VERY grateful a season 9 is happening!! I very hope season 9 will level up in every way!!
theory: i think the new avatar of the negative speedforce will be red death and we might get him after all in season 9 also i think whoever red death is he will be from 2049 where nora and bart are and jay located due we saw some kind of crystal in the end and it might not be red death but still I'm having a pretty good feeling it might i hope it is him
I wish there was more fighting between Barry and Negative Thawne. Making Thawne fly and shoot lightning was so goofy. They're speedsters after all why not have them run and fight a little. I'd give this season a 7.5/10

Over all this season was pretty decent a lot of cool moments but with some issues that kinda brought down the season I’d give the season a 7/10 I liked the finale but it had its issues that kinda brought down the episode like the Cecile stuff and I can’t wait for season 9 I’m really excited that hopefully they’re finally doing cobalt blue and I can’t wait for the Caitlin stuff and why they’re gonna do with it
Theory:
Since that’s not Caitlin or frost what if there was some residual energy from being controlled by black flame and the chamber reacts to that so instead of becoming an ice mega Caitlin becomes a fire meta
Maybe a new firestorm maybe she’s flame or flare instead of frost who knows
Maybe the arrowverse’s version of starfire
What about if she became fire (the fire superhero)

Cecille is probably getting setup to be the Sage Force Avatar. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the forces separated and each got an Avatar like in the comics.
I think the episode tied together Armageddon, irises time sickness, and the whole sacrifice to resurrect thawne, pretty well. But the ending was kind of confusing. It was cool how each set of forces, positive and negative, enhanced each of their avatars to become basically the ultimate versions of themselves. But the fight had something missing. Why couldn’t thawne kill Barry? What was that dome of electricity, and why did it stop and reverse itself? I mean we barely good to see them run around with each other, which is their whole superpower. And are you seriously telling me that thawne, the original big bad, the speedster that’s plagued barry his whole life, one of the greatest villains in the arrowverse and the literal evil of the good/evil balance of the universe itself is just gonna swirl in someone lightning and disappear? I’m not feeling it. There has to be a better final story to reverse flash. I mean I think he should really be in the last episode of the entire show when it does end, as he was the first, so it makes sense for him to be that last. Idk, flash seems to still be kinda week and question as a hole with its story lines
the dome of electricity is course reversed by Barry's enhanced power (I assumed it was one of the forces's power or all 4 combined) that made Thawn exploded, killing him. At least it is power-based and not another talk another villain to surrender.
I gotta say that final battle with Barry and the reverse flash was awsome

If this was actually going to be the final season, I don't think they would have carried on with Frost's story, think she would have passed, Caitlin would have mourned and no trying to bring her back, I like that Season 9 gives the chance to see an actual Killer Frost, may not even be Frost related, could have remnants from Deathstorms energy
I felt the same way every time they go to commercial during this episode, I kept saying don't cliffhanger me, don't cliffhanger me.

Overall, over hyped, under delivered. Woulda been a fine season finale if they didn't hype it up to be "like a series finale". . . cause it flat out didn't feel like that at all.
My biggest gripe with the show is that they reduced combat to just be that of Static (from static shock) or black lightning where he's just a living taser rather than. . . you know, a speedster.
The beginning would have been WAY more impactful if instead of tasing R-Flash to death, barry bashed his back into the truck and then gave CONSECUTAVE and RELEANTLESS speed punches to the gutt and face. I'm talking barry trying to BRUTALIZE him to death. It would have had WAY more impact.
I'm serious, in the past 2 episodes alone, how many times have the writers had the bad guy just stand there waiting while barry and friends throw lightning at them. I don't want to see a single lightning throw FOR THE ENTIRETY of the next season unless it's being used in a way that's NOT an attack. I want flash, not taser-man pls. It's become SUPER WAY over used. Calm down with that move PLEASE. Not everything needs to be about the damn lightning. Go back to your routes of doing cool thing with the speed. . . like phasing or tornado hands. This is just ridiculous.

It's not that he can do it, it's the fact that's all ANY of them do on the show any more. And even then, they don't even need a running start and can just emperor palpi it now. Even in the comics he only ever does a bolt. They use it so much here that they had to go as far as to take creative liberties and make it a constant stream cause "just throwing a bolt" was done so much to where it looks weak if they "only" do a bolt. >_>
They need to chill with that ability and use it WAY more sparingly.

If season 9 is the final season, it would be great to see some rogues return as the new avatars or all the negative forces. Like the thinker with the sage force, bloodwork with the strength force, cobalt blue with the speed force, and a new turtle with the still force
So is the Negative Speed force gone?? Or does it just need another avatar? If that’s the case, bloodwork getting released could possibly be setting up a red death arc? As he could be the new avatar for the speed force, I’m not sure… just a theory!

Stated by negative STILL Force avatar (Deon look alike) and Darhk time stone copy -- the negative Still force used Iris as an incubator to regrow the energy needed to bring forth the specific time reminent of Thawne who would become (again) the Negative Speed Force interface -- the negative version of "Nora" who was created by Iris.
the negative Still force at the command of the OLD Speed Force interface which was destroyed when Barry cut Armageddon Thawne off from it saving Armageddon from being destoyed as well in the end of Armageddon. The negative Still Force kidapped and implanted the negative tachyons into Iris where those energy particles would grow and be harvested later to rebirth the Thawne time reminent back into the Avatar which they did

@Pagey I actually thing Caitlin has got a new persona.. Either a variation of crystal frost or Louise Lincoln becoming a brand new killer frost. The latter being more likely because her comic book storyline is once frost gets killed she actually uses a machine to become the new killer frost.
I give this season and the finale a 10 out of 10. I loved every episode. This is my favorite season. I loved evetything in the finale and I like seeing Damien Darhk, to me that was a cool scene with him and Iris. And Damien is one of my favorite bad guy characters, I like his personality and everything and hope we see more of him in the future. This episode was epic and I like the whole fight between the Flash and Negative Reverse Flash. And can't wait to see Caitlyn and whoever is gonna be the next Negative speedster in season 9. I love every season of the Flash.
