Finally! A Catholic hymnal that doesn't mimic or “build upon” Protestant hymnals: www.ccwatershed.org/hymn - - - The Brebeuf hymnal is a 932-page Pew Book. - - - 4945
I just learned this hymn comes with a plenary indulgence if sung on New Year's Day! Add that to my list of Catholic things I never knew about until just now.
This Hymn is so meaningful and we have been deprived of this inspiring Hymn. It is not sung in our Churches due to reasons only known to the Hierarchy. But this Hymn rejuvenates me when I am in trouble. Thanks Fathers of Church.
May all who find this hymn meaningful and uplifting, receive many Gifts on this coming Feast of Pentecost. Heartfelt Thank You to the Gregorian Chants Keepers!
Beautiful chant. Heaven on Earth. Absolutely out of this world. I love your voice Father. Can listen to this time and again and it brings tears to my eyes. I thank God for you. God Bless you 🙏
No words to express. Too good. God's love for us through this Hymn is abundant. May Almighty grant us the favour to sing this Hymn in our Catholic Churches.
This is absolutely sublime. I would hardly be surprised to learn that these were not men singing but angels. Can anything match the ancient apostolic Church in pure beauty? Man!
Wonderful hymn. Somehow in Latin it is better. My prayers to all my Roman Catholic brothers, that they may read scripture and live the truth. No matter what version of Christianity we belong to, I pray for a revival in our hearts for the love of scripture and Christ-centered conviction. All glory be to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit forever and ever amen.
There is a book by tan publishing called song of the scaffold. About martyred Carmelite nuns during the French revolution and persecution of Catholics. It says they sang this song as they were guillotined. One by one.😫
Veni Creator Spiritus 1. Veni, creator Spiritus mentes tuorum visita, imple superna gratia, quae tu creasti pectora. 2. Qui diceris Paraclitus, altissimi donum Dei, fons vivus, ignis, caritas et spiritalis unctio. 3. Tu septiformis munere, digitus paternae dexterae tu rite promissum Patris sermone ditans guttura. 4. Accende lumen sensibus, infunde amorem cordibus, infirma nostri corporis, virtute firmans perpeti. 5. Hostem repellas longius pacemque dones protinus; ductore sic te praevio vitemus omne noxium. 6. Per te sciamus da Patrem noscamus atque Filium, te utriusque Spiritum credamus omni tempore. 7. Deo Patri sit gloria, et Filio qui a mortuis Surrexit, ac Paraclito, in saeculorum saecula. Amen.
O dođi, Stvorče, Duše Svet, pohodi duše vjernika, poteci višnjom milosti u grudi štono stvori ih. Ti nazivaš se Tješitelj, blagodat Boga svevišnjeg, studenac živi, ljubav, plam i pomazanje duhovno. Sva slava Ocu vječnomu i uskrslomu Sinu mu, s tješiteljem Presvetim nek bude sad i uvijeke. Amen.
Beautiful Gregorian chant on CZcams of my favorite Holy Spirit prayer. Veni Creator Spiritus!!! I hope many our Catholic and other Churches used this hymn today Pentecost Sunday,
I wish I came across this yesterday while I was trying to find a recording that clearly demonstrated the elisions. Nice work, and great enunciation! Exactly how I would chant it.
So far, this is the 1st version of this hymn that I've found online that isn't the botched-up, abbreviated V2 version of it. They just had to rewrite the Veni Creator Spiritus, even the Litany of the Saints. Not for me. I'll be a Traditional Catholic until I die
Nicely done! Have also heard the same where a woman sang this chant, though a bit slower yet just as pleasant. Strangely, both versions were sung in modern day pitch and scale of Bflat, which translates to F mixolydian mode ..anyway , is it common to start on a different pitch center other than what is given (G mixolydian mode)?
Thank you. You have a lovely voice. It is nice to listen. I hope i'll find a choir to sing with others. When you have voices around you, you can tone in and for example low voices accompany higher ones. Different sequences in the mass is also something I enjoy. I've learned the basics, it was years ago in workshops. My local lutheran church had a teacher and a gregorian evening mass once a week.
Come, Creator Spirit, Visit the souls of Your faithful And fill with divine grace The hearts you created! You are our Comforter, Gift of the Most High God, living source, fire, charity, And spiritual anointing. You pour out upon us the seven gifts You are the finger of God's hand You are the promised of the Father You who place on our lips the treasure of your word. Turn on our intelligence with your light Infuse your love into our hearts, And with your perpetual help strengthen our weak flesh. Through You we know the Father, and also the Son It is harmful to always believe in You, Spirit of the Father and the Son. Glory to the Father, Lord, to the resurrected Son and the Consoling Spirit. For all centuries. Amen. Send, Lord, Your Spirit. And you will renew the face of the earth. Let us pray O God, who instructed the hearts of your faithful with the light of the Holy Spirit, make us appreciate all things correctly and always enjoy their consolation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Holy Spirit, I ask you for the gift of Wisdom to better know you and your divine perfections, the gift of understanding to clearly discern the spirit of the mysteries of the holy faith, the gift of counsel so that I can live according to the principles of this faith, the gift of knowledge so that I may seek counsel from You and that I may always find it in You, the gift of fortitude so that no fear or earthly worries separate me from You, the gift of piety so that I can always serve Your Majesty with filial love, the gift of the fear of the Lord, to fear the sin that offends You, O my God.”
I can never miss this Hymn everyday. It is our age old request to the Holy Spirit to protect us.

This Gregorian chant is perfection, as is this pure voice and diction. Once, twice, thrice are not enough!

Ad infinitum .....
Truly wonderful.

I saw this scene depicted in Le dialogue des Carmélites (1960) (with English subtitles). I thought this was a very good film. @@susanhage512
Can you send it in English or is it under the Latin.. Love piece I agree. Diane

Beautiful prayer to the Holy Spirit sung with such a beautiful voice. Always fills me with peace.
What a great request to the Holy Spirit to deal with us.
We are miserable and caught up in our EGOs. All things belong to You Almighty God. Please make us realise this great fact....!!!
Beautiful. I wrote down the words in English so I can recite each New Year's Day and on Pentecost.
A sound of reconciliation when returning to the church
Sublime. Thank you 💗
It says in my church bulletin: A plenary indulgence may be gained by reciting or singing the hymn Veni Creator Spiritus on the first day of the year.
Listen to this everyday. Just brings me so much Peace. It's so Heavenly. Love your voice Father. God Bless you 🙏♥️

I've been looking for a version like this for SUCH A LONG TIME. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe you should have done one yourself with or without a good singing voice. :)
The good, true, and beautiful.
So uplifting! So beautiful! A connection to the Creator.
Besides "Come Holy Ghost, Creator Blest," this is one of the most quintessential hymns for Pentecost.
Beautiful and clear. Blessings 🙏
