@wowVJ You should upgrade to an Audio Technica LP60X or LP60XBT it's a better quality record player because the one you're using will ruin your records
@@lauracorbett4577what’s the difference between x and xbt? Sorry, I know nothing of record players lol
What record is this?
@@lauracorbett4577Not really, you just have to make sure to not play your vinyls too much and change the needle once in a while.
Still if you can upgrade to something better then yeah go ahead

How to torture audiophiles:
If the record works I see no problem I like how records have crackles
@DaveMiller741 not really the issue, more so how the record is poorly built with basically all plastic, the record is played at a slightly different speed, the tracking force is really wearing on the records meaning they're not going to last very long and it more than likely has a sapphire stylus which makes the record sound way worse. These mechanisms aren't horrible and can actually sound decent, but do have all of the above issues, I would recommend maybe getting a replacement stylus of a higher grade for starters.
I’m no audiophile. And I don’t think I’ll ever be convinced records can sound objectively better than a high quality digital recording, but even I can tell this thing is just TOO cheap.
@@DaveMiller741 the low quality speakers are even worse in person. The needle often damages records over time due to low quality materials used and lack of a fully supported platter beneath records adds to the issue making the needle dig worse on the outside of.the record (first few songs ware out fast). Also even on thrift shop cheap vinyls, had one stop working after a few months the electornics just all shorted out despite being plugged into a surge protector. Turned it on one final day and made a crackle pop and slight boom while light dimly died to never turn back on again😅 ymmv
@@jackgreenstalk777 you are absolutely correct. I have a Victrola record player that I have replaced the needle on. The original needle sounds SO much better and was amazing. Now that I have changed the needle to a cheap one, it sounds horrible.
as bad and cheap as it gets

Yes, they could! Even among all these cheap record players there are some worse than others 😂
Nah there’s ones way worse than this
Nah there’s some way worse than this
I'd recognize that cheap, made in China, plastic turntable mechanism anywhere! 😮👉 It's been used on almost every budget record player that was sold in the last 10-15 years. That mechanism can be purchased from Chinese suppliers for under $10 each.
it good
@@privateinvestor.
Yep! You're right! It's good at accelerating how fast your records wear out 😁👍
I started out with a cheap system, never again is all I'll say
I think many of us did the same 😅 good ones are worth it. Can't stand tinny crappy speakers built in and knowing its damaging nice vinyl that would otherwise be great for lifetimes to come
I bought the Audio Technica LP60. For the quality of the player it's worth the price. Definitely great if you are just getting into vinyl.
The fact the mechanism is pushed into the machine with the slightest press says enough to me
it does that in order to dampen vibration. haven't seen this on a more serious player but it actually isn't stupid
It’s a dampening mechanism, most turntables have it in the feet, this has it in the mechanism for cost cutting.
If you want the most entry level player, get a lp60 or start with a base model u turn or rt82 since they can be upgraded
I recently got the AT-LP60 definitely worth it for the price.
Make sure you always drop the needle on while the record is spinning

The plastic under the needle squishes when you lift it😐
Yeah…maybe don’t buy it.
Audiophiles Malding in the replies
For good reason, mind you.
@@NateCraven318 Agreed. It's misleading to people who don't know any better. I find it funny that people are mocking and scoffing at real audio enthusiast who know what they're actually talking about.
I’m an audiophile and I have both high quality and what’s considered low quality for record players, but I actually really enjoy both of them. The sound on my nice one is super accurate, clean, and hifi, while my other record player some consider to be garbage. I actually really enjoy the tone and the warmth that it brings, and the little mistakes and quirks makes it enjoyable.
@@soyboy_yt7329is it a Crosley?
If you have nice vinyl that you started collecting as a teenager then you want to play them on a decent turntable. Doesn't have to be that expensive though.
Idk what comments are talking about, if it can play music, its a good record player.
I totally agree. I have a similar lower end player, no damage or anything, plays just fine!
@dajosh432 there's a reason why we moved to cds and streaming
@dajosh432 the cartridge is red, the needle isn’t.
Sorry but I wouldn't allow any of my vinyl to ever get in contact with that bottom-of-the-barrel cartridge and tonearm.
Couldn’t you just buy replacement ones tho?
@@emotionaldistress No. These low-end players aren't worth the time and effort to replace the tonearm. Just waltz into your local hi-fi shop, slap down at least $400 to get a "real turntable" and good tonearm. It's pretty simple and worth the money.
Dosent cause damage fact
@@themadcoachman Yes it does cause damage. Those tone arms track at about five or more grams. My current tone arm tracks at 1.5 grams.
@@n.miller907 that's even worse!
The sound reminds me of a portable record player i had in 1968
Thats a nice ass record player
I sometimes find awsome record players at my local Goodwill thrift store.
What is the album
Don't buy this record player. Cheap plastic switches. Vinyl should be on top of a full turn table. That needle is absolute junk.
Really no excuse when Audio Technica makes decent entry level turntables, like the LP60.
you got a red needle tip! that would wear the disk
yes
That and probably crazy needle pressure, skip those machines. They're junk.
How many listens to an album with this would damage it permanently do you think?
vwestlife said about 50 plays I think until you notice@@Bookable_
Which are the good needles?
Yeah, this is definitely a beginners turntable. I have one myself, haven't used it much and will be upgrading to an Insignia soon. It sounds okay if you hook it to an external sound system but as others say? This is not for prolonged use.
Insignia, A Best Buy Brand? Bruh get a Technics or a Sony at least
Rather buy vintages 70-80s
Look at that record if you play with your eyes a little bit to it it kinda looks like a laserdisc
Is that Cruella soundtrack? That vinyl disc represented in black and white color looked familiar to me?
Wow. I was actually leaning towards getting one like this cause I just wanted a way to play the few records I have once in a blue moon. But the astounding level of cheapness has made me completely reconsider. I’d rather spend $200 on a decent player I can use for decades or give to my son than $75 on a piece of literal trash that technically plays records.
IT SCRATCHED THE VINYL!?!?!
Bro why do everyone be hating so much on these things, like if your not a hardcore vinyl collector and only have like 5-10, then this is a good choice
Update: after 5 months i have upgraded to an audio technica! But i will still defend this record player since my records still play perfectly fine. Its a good record player to start out with but i would still upgrade eventually
Because it will ruin the vinyl.
@@MoltenHeliumno it wont. as long as you take care of them.
No it isn't, because for the price of most of these, you're better off buying a used Audio Technica LP60. Use your brain

It's good for what it is. Might be good for playing 7 inch records for fun. What I can't understand is why they are still putting 78 RPM speed on turntables in 2024?
