Hey guys, even though the SRX broadcast claims Marco Andretti is the champion, he is NOT. There was a scoring error at Five Flags which gave Marco 3 extra points for getting 10th place, he got 6 points when he should've gotten 3. These flawed points gave Marco the championship. SRX will most likely ignore this, but Ryan "Rocket Man" Newman is the REAL, 2022 SRX Champion. I dont know. I look back and see he had 26 points after Five Flags. I did the math myself to total his points. He finished Heat 1 in 5th. Giving him 8pts. He finished Heat 2 in 10th. Giving him 3 pts. He finished the main event in 8th. Giving him 10pts. In total that is 21pts, and not 26. If I add 3 to any one of those points, it would equal 24 instead of 26. Meaning he actually got 5 more points than he should have. Unless they changed the points format for this year, as I only went off last year's because SRX said it hasn't changed
I wanted to check this for myself, so I went through each race result listed on the SRX website and used the points system stated on Wikipedia. Newman ended up with 205 points to Andretti’s 196. So I honestly have no idea how SRX is calculating their points.

I've seen a couple people saying that. If it's true then this whole thing is especially sucky for Newman. Andretti had no business sending that corner so hard.

Guess you didn't notice that Newman got away from the spin while Marco was still stuck on the wall, and Marco was behind Newman the rest of the night too. So stuffing him hurt nobody but Marco. I was curious about how Andretti beat Newman for points when he finished behind him and they said it was only a couple of points difference at the point of the race when Newman was leading.
It's time Tony Stewart, Michael Waldrip, & Paul Tracey to sit out a season or possibly 5. There are plenty of drivers that should still be in Nascar like Kenneth & Ryan Newman that could recieved invites. You never know but driver's like Mark Martin & Rusty Wallace may give SRX a try
Love to see Mark run. One of my favorites guys to watch and listen too. Sterling cannot run because of Parkinson’s and he would be great for this series.
Not to mention when Marco was getting repaired multiple times in the final heat, the cautions lasted somewhere around ten laps. It should’ve gone green with him off track.
NEWMAN WAS ROBBED!!!!! Andretti slammed into Newman and causes the caution as it was no fault of Ryan's and as such Ryan should have gotten his spot back and Andretti sent to the rear if the field. makes me wonder if Andretti didn't take out Ryan in purpose?
Me too if that was the Casey Luna Ford powered #10. The one he won his WoO championship in. The only nonchevy powered sprint car to ever win a WoO championship...and they did it twice in '89 and again in '95. Then they banned canted valve heads(the Ford)and that ended that. Too bad. That engine was the 21st century replacement for the sbc imo

With his last name, it was obvious he was gonna run indy cars and did have a great career, but hes been so impressive in SRX this season that it just makes you wonder what he could have done in nascar
Im beyond bummed out they cut the race by 20 laps. Was there in person and there was great racing that entire main event. Everyone got robbed of what would've been a hell of a battle on the track
@@MikeKalasnik it’s on network tv, and they’ve constantly ran long in many races. My guess is CBS got sick of it and held them to fitting in their TV window with minimal overage
This SRX is FAR more entertaining to watch than NASCAR. Great drivers - 12-15 good drivers = great field and race I caught this on accident (another rwce) and cousins turn it off. Love the tour style 100 laps no tires. This is racing. NASCAR is just a video game now. Notice how well this vets drive each other hard… I even like the cars to boot. Nice to see harvick and Martin join when they retire in the next 1-2 years. Is this televised or just on this highlight channel? Best short track racing I’ve see.n. Especially since they all have funds

I love how people are bitching about how Marco is a false champion and Newman a real one xD First off, who cares? This series isn't meant to be a championship battle; it's meant to let the drivers and fans have FUN. Secondly, glad to know everyone is wishes Marco well considering he /broke his wrist/ during the race and STILL gave it his all... and Thirdly, glad to see that despite it all, at least Newman wasn't petty about the whole ordeal like some NASCAR drivers I could name! Overall, this is the best racing series!

Some guy from USAC responded to one of his tweets and said Marco was credited 3 points after Five Flags because of some confusion regarding an incident in heat 2. I think Marco really is the champion. Are you able to go back and rewatch the Five Flags race to verify this?
I've always said... well, I've said for a very long time that any driver who can master an American Sprint Car is one of the best drivers in the entire world. Tony Stewart was USAC Triple Crown winner (still the only one ever?) in 1995. The TC meant winning the championships in all three of the following, in the same year: Midgets, Sprints, and Silver Crown cars. 'Nuff said.

No other series tonight. The track was actually in perfect condition! The team did a good job prepping the track. We had a nasty storm roll through around 2-2:30 and they got it ready to go just in time for practice laps.
I would like to see 12 races a season and more air time so they dont cut the features short!, piss on 48 hrs we want racing!. They should have had more backup cars!, a lot of people came to see the home town boy Ryan Blaney race, that was a big disappointment!. Congrats to Chase Elliott and the ROCKET MAN THE REAL CHAMPION!.

Was at his first Indy 500 were he lost the lead at the finish line. He still hung in there with a broken wrist in the last SRX race. That took some guts and will to win.

Well the race wasn’t much better in person smh. Nothing to do, no other stuff going on, and the race was cut 20 laps short for y’all on tv smh. Not to mention traffic was terrible! Took nearly an hour-hour and a half to get out of the lot, as cars were stuck in one place without moving for nearly 45 minutes, if not more. There was also a stupidly long line to get into the place as they only had one ticket line 🤦♂️. We got caught in pouring rain and it damaged my sports illustrated magazine from 2022 (which was in amazing condition, also was what Tony signed.) On the bright side, I was the only person to get Tony Stewarts autograph without having a VIP ticket. Most of the drivers were really nice though and we got a lot of autographs. Only ones we missed out on were chase Elliott (didn’t have anything for him to sign other than a card anyway and had a signed diecast hauler and car at home, so didn’t care too much), Bobby Labonte who didn’t even acknowledge the fans, Ryan Newman who for the most part did the same (he signed a few autographs at the beginning of the day but walked past a crowd of fans multiple times without so much as a wave), Marco Andretti (same thing), and Michael Waltrip who signed a grand total of 5 autographs. Aside from the autographs tho, 3/10 experience, wouldn’t recommend.
Completely disagree. That’s as good as it gets for stock car dirt track racing. Was an incredible race with multiple battles for the lead. Those guys came to race not sign your autographs. Hell they didn’t have to sign any at all! Rain was only a 10 minute shower when the gates opened and they had 2 gates by the way. I’m sorry that you had a terrible time but that’s as good as it gets man! After the race Smoke actually gave his 2nd place metal to a girl in the crowd!
Had friends go on Nascar Cruise a few years back and Queen Mike was on it. He was to do a Pub Walk on shore with fans. Did 2 pubs ,adjusted his Tiara and went back to the ship leaving a bunch of pissed off fans . The King was on same cruise and true racer he is,whenever a fan talked to him ,he would spend a few minutes with each one .That is why Waltrip isn't even a had been. He's a Never Was with not a drop of class or driving ability,as he shows in this series. Don't bring him back next season ,Smoke !!!
@@ohioriverrockhunter6448 autos were a side rant, as I said most of the drivers were really nice and made the experience better, but I guess I should’ve worded it differently and will edit that. However, I was soaking wet a lot of the day from the rain cus our umbrellas both broke, and I just bought a new shirt. Parking was still hell. A screaming match broke out because you had regular people trying to direct traffic. One guy directed everyone like he was working there so that his car would get out quicker and he could leave. There wasn’t anything to do until the racing actually started at 8 so we were left kinda bored for 6 hours (aside from like a 10 minute practice session.) as I mentioned before, the race was cut short because of tv too, so that left a bad taste in my mouth, as I wanted to see Smoke and Chase continue fighting it out. Also, can’t knock the track for this at all but the people next us were assholes. We had seats 12-13 in our row (we had reserved seating). These people had their stuff on our seats when we got there, didn’t give us any room as one of them wasn’t even on their seat but was partly on mine, and would stand every single lap and block my view if I didn’t stand. Again, nothing against the track there but still. When the only bright spot of the experience was the racing, and even that was ruined because it was cut short, not a lot of good things to say.

They corrected it internally but USAC is notoriously terrible at PR so they never updated the public sheets.

How is Marco the champion when he didn't even win a race and if it's true about the points then something needs to be done.
He had a few 2nd places . Sounds like he was awarded the 3 points because of a screw up by SRX in the race in question. Well nice to see Marco Win something again. Was at his first Indy 500 were he lost the lead at the finish line. He still hung in there with a broken wrist in the last SRX race. That took some guts and will to win.

Tony was the driver that DID hit the pace car though caught the open passenger side door when it was stopped in front of the stands at one of those asphalt races.😆
Well the race wasn’t much better in person smh. Nothing to do, no other stuff going on, and the race was cut 20 laps short for y’all on tv smh. Not to mention traffic was terrible! Took nearly an hour-hour and a half to get out of the lot, as cars were stuck in one place without moving for nearly 45 minutes, if not more. There was also a stupidly long line to get into the place as they only had one ticket line 🤦♂️. We got caught in pouring rain and it damaged my sports illustrated magazine from 2022 (which was in amazing condition, also was what Tony signed.) On the bright side, I was the only person to get Tony Stewarts autograph without having a VIP ticket. Most of the drivers were really nice though and we got a lot of autographs. Only ones we missed out on were chase Elliott (didn’t have anything for him to sign other than a card anyway and had a signed diecast hauler and car at home, so didn’t care too much), Bobby Labonte who didn’t even acknowledge the fans, Ryan Newman who for the most part did the same (he signed a few autographs at the beginning of the day but walked past a crowd of fans multiple times without so much as a wave), Marco Andretti (same thing), and Michael Waltrip who signed a grand total of 5 autographs. Aside from the autographs tho, 3/10 experience, wouldn’t recommend.
Completely disagree. That’s as good as it gets for stock car dirt track racing. Was an incredible race with multiple battles for the lead. Those guys came to race not sign your autographs. Hell they didn’t have to sign any at all! Rain was only a 10 minute shower when the gates opened and they had 2 gates by the way. I’m sorry that you had a terrible time but that’s as good as it gets man! After the race Smoke actually gave his 2nd place metal to a girl in the crowd!
Had friends go on Nascar Cruise a few years back and Queen Mike was on it. He was to do a Pub Walk on shore with fans. Did 2 pubs ,adjusted his Tiara and went back to the ship leaving a bunch of pissed off fans . The King was on same cruise and true racer he is,whenever a fan talked to him ,he would spend a few minutes with each one .That is why Waltrip isn't even a had been. He's a Never Was with not a drop of class or driving ability,as he shows in this series. Don't bring him back next season ,Smoke !!!
@@ohioriverrockhunter6448 autos were a side rant, as I said most of the drivers were really nice and made the experience better, but I guess I should’ve worded it differently and will edit that. However, I was soaking wet a lot of the day from the rain cus our umbrellas both broke, and I just bought a new shirt. Parking was still hell. A screaming match broke out because you had regular people trying to direct traffic. One guy directed everyone like he was working there so that his car would get out quicker and he could leave. There wasn’t anything to do until the racing actually started at 8 so we were left kinda bored for 6 hours (aside from like a 10 minute practice session.) as I mentioned before, the race was cut short because of tv too, so that left a bad taste in my mouth, as I wanted to see Smoke and Chase continue fighting it out. Also, can’t knock the track for this at all but the people next us were assholes. We had seats 12-13 in our row (we had reserved seating). These people had their stuff on our seats when we got there, didn’t give us any room as one of them wasn’t even on their seat but was partly on mine, and would stand every single lap and block my view if I didn’t stand. Again, nothing against the track there but still. When the only bright spot of the experience was the racing, and even that was ruined because it was cut short, not a lot of good things to say.
