Lil baby tho!!
Itâs been fun seeing him grow tbh. Would love to see him exceed I am I was
Yeah, he has serious potential to become the next godfather. The path he's gone from trend rapper to working on his craft is unmatched, praying for him đ
He did mention before that when he first started, it treated rapping as a game, as he start doing more and more, he started to get serious with rap
Itâs like watching a son grow up and graduate from college
Coleâs confidence is what stands out the most. Whether itâs his bars or just the production heâs rapping over. Jermaine is back
100% agree FHD classic but still not that hunger and I love 4yeo and KOD but this is another level, same hunger as mixtape cole just way better skill wise
Really? I thought the production was kinda trash tbh
He's not just back. He's ascended to God mode.
@@CheeseyMilkshakes yeah same every song sounded the same I thought
@@adamcraig4255 There are people saying this is a work of art and Coleâs best project, what? Heâs rapping over generic trap beats. The hi hats sound like theyâve been stretched, meaning theyâre really low quality. The soul samples have also obviously been massively stretched, how hard is it to keep to a similar bpm as the original sample? If anyone but Cole put this out it would be a 5/10 record.
Kanye and Travis pushing the trend of surprise// hidden features definitely makes me happy

I've never seen J Cole so confident on an album, this was a work of art.
Literally
There were some offbeat flows and weak beats but overall he got the most aggresive solid flow in this album it was worth the wait imo
@@petersocko9135 Weak beats?? OFFBEAT FLOWS?? WHERE
@@petersocko9135 there was none of that youâre trippin
@@cliiiiiq8787 all over the place. You should listen to more hip hop music. Freddie, Push, Kendrick, and Danny raised the bar for beats years ago. J Cole is so weird to me. He makes mediocre albums (which youâll disagree with because heâs your boy) but he has as much and/or more talent than every other MC listed above. He needs competition to bring out his god flow. I was so hype for this but those beats were trash and what orhers call âconfidenceâ is what I call bling era rap. Itâs not interesting unless you only listen to Cole.
EDIT: maybe no offbeat flows, but barring two, every single flow on this album was on par with every other Cole project: mediocre.
Few years ago I was watching 2 metalhead brits not knowing the biggest names in rap. Now Iâm watching the same guy catch bars left and right and doing references to other rappers even recognising what type of beat they would be on. Jon what a legend you are.

Ikr, I literally didnât expect this to come after listening to the climb back(which is also a favourite for me) and Close cuz they had a totally different vibe, but this was straight up uplifting and sounded like an Anthem. Also donât ask me why Iâm just commenting, I remember hearing the entire album before, but since I was a new Cole fan I decided to listen to everything from the beginning and now Iâve arrived back here and this album is crazy

Hereâs the thing, I never cringed so much looking at the word mid because that seems to be the only word these haters know; 10 min after it was released and they call it mid, itâs honestly concerning, and even then, they probably barely listened to it, if they continue with a few more listens, they will probably enjoy it a little more, because Ik I did after a few more listens, overall I enjoyed it more than I thought

What I love about this album the most is the confidence while bringing in bars, outside production, features, mix of flows/cadence. Itâs a great mix of old Cole and new Cole in a short but fleshed out project. Canât wait for the The Fall Off.
What I love about this album every song is like from a different era and it still fits that off season vibe amazing album
I like how he added features a day after. Gives you the element of surprise on first listen but then also gives the features credit (amazing for smaller artists). Hope that becomes a new trend
Let go my hand is one of the most beautiful track Iâve heard in a while lyrically as well as instrumentally, and specifically the line where he goes âignorance is bliss and innocence is just ignorance before itâs introduced to currency and clipsâ signifies that j Cole is more than just a rapper, such good at conveying his philosophy.
The basketball player was Damian Lillard who is known for "DAME TIME" where he taps his hand like he has a watch on it. That's why the song is called punching the clock.
Let Go My Hand and Close are both some of my favorites from this album and as album cuts period from Cole. He really was top tier with this project. Iâm so proud.

From someone who has listened to Cole for years, the thing that stands out most to me is his confidence and hunger on the album.
From a purely rapping perspective, I believe this is some of the best work we have ever seen from Cole. Lyrically heâs brilliant and he uses flows and beats that weâve never really seen from him before.
The one thing that I do wish he did better was making a more cohesive overall project.
Kind of like a classic Kendrick album where songs build off of each other and tell an overall story and contribute to the main message of the album. This album kind of feels at times like Cole is rapping on each song like itâs a single and it wouldnât really matter what order you played the songs in.
With that being said though, overall I loved the album and lyrically I think itâs some of Coleâs best work! Iâm excited to see how it ages too
